What Spall Liner does is avoid spalling, what happens when a HE shell explodes in contact with the armor.

And second, gun dispersion and a bit of distance helps with enemy missing.

which is why the Vk90 can be penned fairly easily by the lowest cali'ed penetration in t10 for a heavy
as for the latter points, those vary widely by situation and in general even derp heavies have no issue hitting the turret at a fair range(e.g on deadrail)

They changed the economy awhile back, nowadays the best way to farm credits is play tier x and try to get medals, ex. Most dmg on both teams, most kills etc (or any ace badge) they give crazy credits. This was just a top gun (most kills) and a 1st class, in a tech tree tank (key point is I got 70k just from medals)
