No it’s better than both of those. It has hull armor over the kran and mobility and then the gun is ridiculous mostly bc the reload is the same on all of the shots (on the kran the last shell takes far longer to reload)

for the latter point, the 116 F3 has around 500-600 less DPM than the Kran as a singleshot and does not have the same reload on both shells
it's like 2200 DPM firing as a singleshot which is unbearably low

The difference is that in the kran you have to fire only the first shell and the 116 you can dump the whole clip first then shoot the last shell over and over. Dpm doesn’t mean as much when you have the kind of clip potential that the 116 has

116 F3 gets tier 8 Soviet heavy DPM firing only the last shell

Kran with Cali takes like 13s to reload shell 1 which is also tier 8 levels of dpm

Nobody expects a tank with a ridiculous clip potential like the f3 to be superbly accurate. It would be totally busted if that were the case. But having mediocre gun handling just means that the tank has to be played at closer range, and that’s normal because it’s a heavy tank anyways

In the same class of heavy tanks there are no other clipper heavies that are stronger than the f3. The kran is a great tank but it struggles in towns. The 116 has reactive and can play more aggressively. It has more clutch potential because of the reactive and the armor. The kran is more team reliant which I believe makes it less meta.

also some players just instinctively shoot at trackwheels so I wouldn't count on the spot just not being hit

If you know where the weak spots are on everything then armor just becomes an obstacle. So I agree! And I am one of those people that instinctively shoots for tracks and fuel tanks. However as I don’t play this game as regularly as I used to I don’t trust myself to pen every shot on a weak spot like the one we’re discussing. And despite this I am still a high average player. There are many people like me that have no understanding of the armor profiles and do not even know what wot inspector is. That’s an overwhelming majority of players that you will be fighting in pubs while playing the 116 f3. And so it’s easier as a mediocre player to achieve decent results in a tank with a tomato on the front and a little slit of a lower plate versus the hull of a kran which is as grey as the skies of Seattle. That’s my argument for why it’s pubs meta

but going back to the topic, yes there are no direct competitors to the 116 F3 on flat ground, but, tanks like the MLE just do its job better no?
Yes the 116 F3's gun has a 1260 clip, but is suffers massively in DPM, to make effective pushes you also need damage output and the ability to consistently dish out damage, once the F3 depletes it's clip, it's singleshot output is abysmal, It is far worse than any other autoreloading heavy at t10 by a long shot, and therefore once that clip is gone you'll be playing a tank with a very poor gun on practically all stats since the gun has relatively poor handling and unimpressive pen
something like the MLE can consistently do 450 with a constant 2700 DPM, that is already higher than the maximum the F3 could do in 60s even while depleting a full clip to start off and the MLE has better handling(somehow) a MLE would be much better for consistently dishing out damage which is more important for pushing than one time clips, while also being able to go hulldown relatively easily if you use gun depression
