By researching the 122mm gun on the chinese IS-2 you also unlock it on the T34-2

St-1 and IS8 share the same gun. Researching it in either of them will unlock it on the other.

The developers set that when the tank is introduced and could change it for balancing purposes if they needed to. In general historical tanks start with historical stats in development but changes are made to make them fit into a game.

I've noticed that the tank weight changes as I change different guns, turrets etc. so that's part of it. Modules have their own weights.

I can't give a precise answer atm, but the weight of the real ISU 152 was 47 tons. The BZ tanks were a design and a quick internet search raised the possibility that components from other existing tanks were used to fill in where the information on the chinese design was incomplete. That's not an unusual problem. The whole UK AT series was an 18 tank design with only one, the Tortoise (AT-16) actually being prototyped. Since some Blitz tanks began as just a drawing (or that's all that can be found now) estimates would have to be made to develop something for the game.
