FAQ from the last iterations of recruiting

Do my stats have a big impact on whether I get into supertest?

Yep. In most cases, an excellent player can better predict and describe the playability of a new (test) tank or map than a player with poor statistics.

if it’s evident from my 120 day stats that I took a break from the game for 25 consecutive days due to serious illness but have been active ever since, does it in any form impact the activity based choice? (The fact that there were 25 days without playing)

When considering activity we rely more on the 120d interval.

I noticed the 3000 character feedback limit but also the “you shouldn’t write a book” comment, is writing something just below 3000 fine or “writing a book” and therefore unnecessary?

Depends on what you expressed in those 3,000 characters.

Are you also looking at what specs my android/ios/pc device has?

The device is not important, but must meet the minimum system requirements of the game. We do not check this at the recruiting stage, but in case of problems with test clients due to an inappropriate device, we will be forced to remove you from the team.

Will NA / APAC be open to supertesting soon?

There is no need for an NA or APAC Supertest at the moment, both servers have fewer players and are many time zones away from the development team.

Can I apply having 7k battles in normal and 3k in fun modes or it's only normal/ranked/tourneys?

Only Normal, Ranked & Tourney battles count towards the 10k minimum requirement.

So if you are lucky (or good) enough to be accepted. How long do you test for? And do you have to apply again for the next 'supertest season' or are you automatically in if you have done your job properly?

To explain it concisely, if you are accepted you are invited to a seperate discord. There announcements are posted when internal tests are conducted. You are not required to join all tests, if you could that'd actually be quite impressive 🙂 . Once you're in you don't have to reapply unless you are removed for inactivity.

As you wrote, supertest is the separate game client, where all "supertest" activities will take place, but what about testing new tanks on the main game client and playing with regular players, is it also included in the supertest, or its something different?

The priority and main activity of the Supertest is testing on the seperate game client. We do also have testing on the live-client yes, but this is considered a side-activity.

What topics should I include in my application feedback?

You should write what you think is usefull for the devs. If we give you a template, everyone would use it.

What if I've been active in game modes lately? I meet all the requirements, I have over 10k battles, I have over 1000 battles on tier X, except lately I've only been playing Game modes like Madgames...

For Supertesting, it is advised and preferred to play ratings/randoms regularly. This is because the game changes all the time, and without playing regularly, you cannot give accurate feedback like someone who does. So it does affect your application, yes.

Hi there ! Little question: super testers have to log at specific moments of the peak of the day between 7am till 11pm. How does it work ? Do you need to connect at a specific time for testing (ie next Monday super testing will be at 2pm so you’ll have to be there until 4pm) OR do you have a scheduled date where you need to play 2h (ie next Monday Super test, play 2h between 7am until 11pm).
That’s important to me as I could apply as I can only log evenings to play for obvious reasons..

To make it easy and clear for everyone, we make no exceptions on these requirements. Whatever the circumstance, 10k battles of which 1k is on tier 10 is required.

I have a question about the playtests:

• are the playtests organised everyday?
• if I don't manage to play at 7pm, will I still be able to play at the day later (like 8:30pm in my case)?

Playtests are not every day. There can be a period of no tests and a period of a lot of tests. It depends on the amount of content that requires testing.
Playtests often happen around 20:00 and 22:00 CET. Sometimes at 18:00 but the other two are more popular.

Windows players are welcomed this recruitment. When you compare amount of active Supertesters by platform and the amount of players submitting applications, the majority remains PC. We would like to have a balance of all three devices and so a push is made for touch, rather than PC.

Hey, quick question for the moderators in charge of recruiting tank testers. I wanted to know because I only have 6700 battles, I'm 21 years old, but can 6700 battles be enough if you're active or not? Right now my goal is 500 battles per month, which seems a bit low, but I'm currently at 230. Anyway, I just want to know if 6700 games, 63 win rate, and 2700 average damage is enough to qualify for testing or not?

There are different tests in WoTB. Open-Test where you get to download a test client, Clan-Test/Live-Test where test tanks get tested on live servers and Supertest the more advanced one and you will need to fullfil the above mentioned criteria in order to join it. The BZT-70 player you have seen only had 130 games then he was most likely from a selected clan who gets to choose some participants from this clan to test tanks

Open Test has you download a version of what's coming into the game next update where you can try out these features.
Live-Test is a term that is used for both Supertest & Clantest. It just means tanks being tested on the live server.
Clantest is what you said it was, however there are also requirements there. A player with only 130 games can not participate in testing for clans either.
Supertest is a more broad version where you also test content on seperate servers (so not only live).
There are small other groups who also test who adhere to other requirements unrelated to their game accounts who could have 130 games to test. But they meet other requirements.

If you get this message on the live-client (standard game that everyone can simply download) then you need to update it from where you downloaded it.
If you are refering to the Ultra test-client then you will not be able to login because the servers are currently not open.

Those are the main criteria to be eligible. The selection happens based on more statistics but without official/set values. Those include total battles played, Tier X battle count, win rate, average damage in Tier X, recent activity (last 30 and 120 days), and a clean record with no serious in-game bans.

I do not think that the server merge is any time soon so no super testers from other regions soon. And even if the merge were to happen you’d have to think for yourself as an apac or NA player if you’re willing to give up your sleep or any other terrible time to test in a day up for testing since you’re in different time zones.

This only really makes sense if you’re based in Europe, since the test servers are located here and latency to the server matters. Also, playtests are held during European evening prime time.

What’s the difference between super test and live test? Is supertest in a closed environment?

The live test (if you mean the open test) is "as I think when I participated on it" testing the next update before the release, for example I tested my T-34-3 on tier IX and the enhancement of Falls Creek map before the release of this update.
While the supertest is as you mentioned a closed environment where the supertesters and the devs test tanks, maps, and other stuff before the announcement about these things (so they can add them to the game in the future updates) on a different client and sometimes on the live client.

Live test is a part of Supertest but is not exclusive to Supertest.

Live testing just means testing certain tanks on the live server (aka main server everyone plays on). Tanks are added to your main account and removed after testing.

Supertesting includes live testing but also internal tests played with only supertester on a seperate client. That stuff includes testing maps, tanks that don't come to live tesing, gamemodes and more.

Ultra test is only reforged test and supertest is everything test so upcoming tanks for example the new Japanese heavies that we saw in the announcements etc.

Supertest isn’t a one time thing like reforged, it’s a group of testers that test when new things need testing. I don’t know when there’s new super testers needed.

Hi. I'm looking for someone who can help troubleshoot a launch crash.
The game starts, begins requesting/loading data, and then immediately crashes to desktop without any error message. I've already tried clearing Steam cache and verifying game files, but the issue persists. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how to fix it?

I've no idea of the precise cause of the crash but there's a couple other Steam basic troubleshooting steps you could take.

Deleting the entire DAVAproject folder. After it's deleted a new, clean, copy will be downloaded the next time you open the game. This should eliminate any corrupted or damaged resource files.

You can find the DAVAproject folder here for Windows: C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\wotblitz\DAVAProject

A second step would be to uninstall and reinstall the app in your Steam library.

You've replaced everything with clean copies and the next usual suspect would be something running in the background. Exclude Blitz in the settings for any anti-virus programs, remove any mods, music or other programs that might also be running. Disable any Steam or Nvidia overlays, and update drivers and Os. Reboot and try Blitz again.

If the problem persists it's time to contact support if this is regular Blitz or to post a bug message in #techtest-may-discussion if it's the tech-test.
