If the factory was still state-owned that switch to environmentally friendly steel would be in its way by now

We got our Uranium from Russia btw, so now Germany is independent from Russian Gas and Russian Uranium.

It's definitely not perfect, but in the long run, it's the right decision.

This has been decided in 2011 btw, so it's not a sudden decision.

Again, not ideal, but Germany will stop to rely on coal starting 2038. I still hate it, and it's way too late, but it's better than no change at all.

Hey I’m a person who lives in the U.S.
We have a party that is considered more right and a party that is considered more left but I guess you’re right that Republicans are just center right and Democrats are just center left

I was under the impression (from my politics and law teacher) as an Australian tho so I could be really wrong, that Democrats (whilst seemingly left-wing) are still situated right-wing/center on the political scale but closer to the center than the Republicans (right-wing) whereas our major political parties (Liberals and Labor, whilst Nationals and Greens are also very prominent) are actually situated on different sides whilst both being close to the center, Liberals being right-center and Labor being left-center. Labor and Liberals are farther apart in their views (but not too extreme) and so the distance between is larger, the Democrats and republicans are actually situated more closer than people have come to accept.

Yeah it is a very unfair comparison, and more so the political aspects rather than the people. However there are many areas of the system of government that restrict peoples freedoms and rights (ie. Roe vs. Wade, and "healthcare" laws being revoked particulalry in Florida) that threaten the democratic aspect of the country
