i keep telling people like yeah shows and festivals and that are technically more expensive on the outset in the US but at least myself i was earning way more so i could justify it (and i think generally earning is higher in the US) whereas we get paid awful here and even though shows are cheaper from the outside literally every single other thing like transport, hotels, food etc costs more vs what we earn

we're a tiny island really, that's overpopulated. house prices are through the roof so people can't afford houses, and rent is so high these days so you can't even have savings to eventually buy a house
if you want to live in one of the big cities you're not getting a house, most big cities are all apartments these days
i'm from Manchester, 2nd largest city
when i left june 2023 there weren't a ton of skyscrapers and that, got back august 2024 and the whole skyline has changed and is still changing with skyscrapers - all apartment towers

The two big headliners are literally going to be touring a lot next year, so there's no incentive to buy a ticket to sick new world for those bands
Especially when it's cheaper to see them in a city near you
System of a down hasn't toured properly since 2022 iirc, so having them is such a huge incentive to go to SNW
And it can be further supported by some great bands like Slipknot or bmth, or even Linkin park
Imo, if it does return in 2026, they should do System of a Down and Nine Inch nails as their two big headliners. Two iconic bands with dedicated fans, they'd definitely move a lot of tickets
And ofc keep the lower bill exciting as well, a good balance of new/old/legendary bands that span many genres

i agree with metallica being worth it but SNW was always leaning towards nu metal, metalcore, post hardcore, modern metal and hxc bands for the last 2 years. they alienated the crowd they built the last two years and it cost them. linkin park does fit in but then again there's way more traditional metal bands in there which is why lower sales.
