#Bug: audio latency offset has no effect in actual maps

I have a noticeable audio delay of ~110ms on my Quest 3 in every game. When setting the latency offset in Synth Riders to somewhere between 100-130ms the dot animation aligns with the beat, but no matter what I set the offset at, I feel no effect when playing actual songs.

Game version: v3.5.9a3 (Quest 3 standalone)
OS version: v76.0

Thank you for the report!

Have been reading your lengthy discussions on this topic, can you confirm that this is happening for you in the most recent music released for the game (eg. in the free song Got You by Sunset Neon)

#

(As in your feeling that the note hit sounds are not in time with the music)

Sorry, I should have specified: With in-sync I meant the notes in relation to the music, I have the note hit sound disabled. I will test your suggestion.

I don't find this to be the case. Here are two test videos, the first showing the in-game experience playing the tutorial mode, adjusting the audio latency setting, then playing the tutorial mode again (clearly demonstrating it is having an effect), and the second is the same video, but with the video delayed by 250ms to show the second half has audio/video aligned.

Synth Riders Version 3.5.13a1 — Audio/Video Synchronised to show the in-game experience.

▶ Play video

Synth Riders Version 3.5.13a1 — Audio Adjustment Test Video (In-game experience) with the audio delayed by 250ms to demonstrate the second half where the video was delayed by 250ms (due to the audio alignment setting for bluetooth headphones, etc. set to 250ms).

It's most evident when you look at the offset adjusment from about 50s in.

When I do the same thing, the timing on the notes doesn't change. I confirmed it in a video editor to be really sure and the song is always three frames or 100ms late, even if I set the audio calibration setting to the extremes.

#

(The video shows a more pronounced latency than 100ms, because of the quest recording which itself adds a latency to every video. But whats important is not the actual latency, but rather the (non-existent) difference before and after changing the audio calibration setting)

Hi, has there been any insight on why this might happen? The bug is still present in the newest version of Synth Riders.
