#One of my played songs says it hasn't been played

When I select Custom Songs and filter the list by "Not Played Yet", a song that I have played is showing in the list. The stats say that I have played it "0x", even though my name and score is displayed on the leaderboard.
Note that after successfully completing the song, it triggered a bug that made my Meta button stop working, as described in [this bug report](#1328808625686315080 message).
The song is †:OLPHEUX:† by Juggernaut, mapped by darnoc703, as seen in the attached screenshot.

Local played/not played status doesn't come from the leaderboard - if you had to force close the game, then the files on your device which were in memory at the time you closed it will generally not have any changes written out.

#

Exiting the game from the Oculus menu also kills the game - so if there are any unwritten changes when you do so, those will be lost. The best way to exit the game is from the game's own Exit button which writes out any changes and gracefully closes the game.

You can always put the song on no fail and let it complete to see whether it happens again.

#

That may set the song as "Played".

I actually tried that, but no luck. Maybe there's something about that particular song that's messing things up.

#

I found another song with the same issue. Interestingly, it was mapped by the same mapper.

I will ask, but because it's custom content there's only so much we can do in that regard.

Okay, thanks, appreciate all your help 🥰

Further to our discussion [here](#1328808625686315080 message), is it possible that certain songs might have unusually high memory usage for some reason, which might cause bugs or other unpredictable behavior as discussed in that thread, and therefore interfere with proper saving?

It is absolutely possible for a custom map to give you a Very Bad Time Indeed.

Just to clarify in my case, the data not getting saved seems to be happening after I have successfully played through the song on Master level and gone back to the song list. So yeah, just wondering if some songs might have gobbled up too much memory by then, somehow preventing saving and/or causing other glitchy issues.

Ahh, good catch. Okay, thanks

Hi @lean lichen , I played CAFÉ MAÑANA again last night.
(First I deleted and recreated my boundary and turned off passthrough — so far no glitches).
Once again, I completed the song but it didn't save my stats.
But look at how the track name is displayed in the results screen — the extended characters have been stripped and the name is displayed as "CAF MAANA". So this might support your theory that the extended characters might be involved in this bug.

Hi @lean lichen , I found another song that didn't save the stats. This time the extended character is in the name of the artist, not the name of the song: "Alright" by Victoria Monét

Hi @lean lichen , back in January you identified that extended characters might be causing the problem. I think you were right, because only songs with extended characters in the song title or artist name don't save properly — i.e. after I play all the way through them, they still show as having zero plays, and therefore when I filter by "Not Played Yet", they still appear in the list. Are there any plans to fix this? Please? 🙏
