Taking longer than I planned, but the most complicated bit of the tabard construction is finally done. 2 layers of linen plus some canvas in the shoulders to add some structure, topstiched seams and all inside seams serged. This then got turned inside out to make the back and top half of the front tabards. bottom front/rear tabards are tonight's project. The tabards and the belt will be the minimum I need for a bound at the saber meet, and the rest will be over the next couple weeks to get ready for Megacon

The details are definitely slowing me down but I want to make this thing durable so it can be washed and last a while. That fabric was $20/yd so I want to get my money's worth out of it

tabards and vest are done. next up is adding the satin ribbon trim along all the edges of everything, but that is going to wait until I’m less tired and less prone to wobbly sewing.

Since I’ll always have my cameras, I finished a new dual camera harness in the same leather, with copper and brass hardware so it will match. This will come in handy next saber meet too.

Tabards, belt, obi all ready, and I hacked up a polo shirt and added some satin trim for the outer tunic, so I'm good as I'm gonna get for now for Megacon. Still need a proper outer tunic (didn't have time for it), bracers, and boot wraps.

Already thinking of redoing the tabards too with a different construction method and improving on the satin applique. I'll definitely have a really nice kit for the next saber meetup/Mt4

Japan hasn't had a Celebration since 2008. The United States had one in 2022.

So it was suggested this might be the best place to get some help.

To make a long story short, I already have assembled one cosplay, my Ghostbusters cosplay (proton pack, wand, full suit, trap and reader, gloves, hat, even plus slimer), but now I really want to make a good Jedi one.

The robes. Tunic, Boots, belt. Obviously I have the lightsaber already.

My question is... are there any recommendations for where to get this gear? Seek out a smuggler to snag it from Galaxy's Edge? Some website that sells it? Even Amazon?

I am looking for quality. To have something that would hold up. Not Halloween party at the office. Last year for Halloween I went around town in my ghostbuster stuff, posing for pictures and acting out stuff so that should give you an idea of where I want to go. So, does anyone have any suggestions on where to go?

I suppose I'm in a similar boat. I did a search backward through the discord here for "tunic" and didn't quite find what I want. I'll be looking to have a smuggler get me the Jedi tunic, belt and robe from the parks. I really like their look and how they're put together, although if there's a comparable etsy vendor or etc I'd love to know; browsing Etsy/Ebay/etc is deeply confusing to me. But before I post up an In Search Of in the appropriate channel, I'd like to know some sizing details, lest I pick a size not quite accommodating enough for my wide-shouldered frame.

Is there a review/overview of the tunic that gives sizing information - particularly the length of the sleeves and the belt/obi lengths - beyond what I've been able glean from basic internet searches? The robe is detailed in a few posts and the belt only comes in two sizes, so those are squared away, but the tunic has scant detail I've been able to find online.

So far my search makes me think the L/XL will be fine, but since there is simply no chance I'll be able to visit the parks myself any time soon I'll be reliant on a smuggler and don't want to trouble someone with getting the tunic, sending it along to me, finding out it doesn't quite fit and having to go back through that process just to return them and get new ones.

Anecdotal information about the fit from people who have the tunic is also welcome, of course. I'm a wide 5'10" person whose T-Shirt sizes can run between the XL all the way up to a (Japanese vendor) 4XL so I'm kind of at a loss on what size to shoot for but want this whole thing to go as smoothly as possible.

I'm thinking about getting the smaller to get the robe, tunic, and belt, get the boots off of eBay or amazon, and the pants can just be a khaki pants.

I would also love to find someone who does any of the clone Wars style armor like the kind that Obi-Wan wears but that's going to be a later step

There's listings on ebay for the tunic/belt/etc but they're nearly 100% markup and I think directly having a smuggler would result in somewhat lower prices.

The Disney hybrid sizing is weird AF.

I have the training tunic in both s/m and l/xl. The former is a smidge too small and the latter is too big. The arms are comically long on me on the l/xl

And normally I complain about the arms on things not being long enough.

It also depends on your use case. If you want to go for costume club approval you'll want to check their CRLs and make sure you're following them. If you just a fun costume to wear, do whatever is easiest for you.

But the GE tunics don't really "fit" anyone well b/c of the hybrid sizing.
