#Skeleton Crew General Discussion

I had a friend that played poker for a living, and he explained it that money became just a tool
he couldn't get hung up on it
We tend to only fixate on money when we don't have enough of it
Jod called the children sheltered and spoiled.
And maybe they were, by default.
But ||KB’s unconscious body after she crashed in the finale was more important to them than a pile of a million credits||
So if their childhood with three square meals a day and a solid support network allowed them to put human connection above money, then they’re doing alright.
Almost missed what you’d said here, I swore they’d mentioned mines in the show but they also talk about going to the mines as a punishment in Silo, so couldn’t remember for sure lol
Jod is the Galaxy's worst pirate and it ain't even close.
He could have left with all the credits and come back at regular intervals
Instead, he chose violence.
He’s not heartless enough to be like Rennod
But yeah he could have just kept it his secret
He could have brought the credits up to the frigate and bought infinite loyalty from the crew.
But he wanted an endless supply of credits, forever.
For that he needed to control the planet.
I do wonder if the supervisor would have let Jod just take back off with a bunch of credits without making Jod come see him
If he’d never been called out he could have just kept coming back, loading up, and leaving again without saying a word to anyone
Yep
Entirely possible.
The Supervisor might have been willing to give Jod the benefit of the doubt due to the long absence of emissaries, but that was before Jod turned on his lightsaber in front of the safety droids.
And then introduced himself as a Jedi in front of the Supervisor.
It is interesting that they got the Order 66 transmission but Palps never bothered them.
The only logical explanation I have for this is that Palpatine didn’t know At Attin still existed.
His overconfidence made him assume it was just a fairytale.
(even if there was a secret tiny branch of the Republic government that was still using emissaries to pick up money all the way until 19 BBY).
So when Palpatine sent out his Order 66 message, he was just flooding it on all Republican frequencies.
And didn’t realize the Supervisor was tuned in to one of those frequencies.
Might have just been on his todo list. 1.Kill Jedi, 2.Build Death Star, 3.Convert Luke, 4.Find At Attin
He didn’t get past item 3
I mean who hasn’t gotten wrapped up in a big project and then thrown down into a reactor core before they can finish their list?
Didn’t help that he had to go back to item 2 and build a second one 🤦♂️
Being serious though, I imagine he might not have cared even if he knew it existed. He had control of pretty much everything, if he couldn’t buy it he could just take it
Palpatine does like to control everything, though.
Unless Palpatine felt like keeping At Attin trapped in a bubble was the equivalent of Palpatine knowing that if Yoda or Obi Wan were still alive they were forced to hide as ragged hermits and that was sufficient punishment/control, I don’t see Palpatine leaving the At Attin alone.
Also there’s the money angle.
Palps may have had avenues to pretty much all the other money in the galaxy, but since when has being unspeakably rich stopped a fascist from wanting to become even more unspeakably rich?
The galaxy just got closer ✨ The cast of Skeleton Crew are now joining Jude Law at MEGACON Orlando. Don't miss your chance to meet Jude Law, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, and Robert Timothy Smith next month. Get your tickets now. Link in bio.

Omg lol, just watched a SWE video about Easter eggs and I guess in the scene where Fern and Wim are waiting outside the principal’s office there’s graffiti on the wall that says in Aurebesh “turd eater”
Wild thought while watching YJA season 2: ||any chance Rennod worked with Captain Blackbolt? That would be a great reference||
While that would be interesting, I kind of got the impression that ||Captain Tak Rennod|| didn’t play well with others.
Well then maybe ||competed for plunder against him||
That sounds more accurate lol.
Maybe that’s why ||Captain Blackbolt|| went to go be in Young Jedi Adventures.
A computer animated show aimed at young children was the only place where he didn’t run the risk of being brutally murdered by bloodthirsty rivals.
It’s now my headcanon that ||SM-33 used to be on Blackbolt’s crew||
You are absolutely allowed your headcanon.
||SM-33 did kind of indicate that he was built on Lanupa by Captain Rennod, but the details are vague.||
||It’s certainly possible Blackbolt had him on his crew at some point or another, due to any number of shenanigans.||
I was thinking ||more that Blackbolt would have had a crew entirely of pirate droids||
But you are right I think I remember him saying ||he was built by Rennod on the planet where his lair was||
Ok head-retcon, ||Rennod built SM after being bested by Blackbolt a few times cause as a droid he could go places/do things a meatbag crewman can’t, so Rennod built his own droid crewmate||
when is the spoiler embargo over?
six weeks after the last episode

This a complete recording of the Skeleton Crew cast panel at MegaCon Orlando on February 8th, 2025.
Like I stated above, YouTube gave me an ETA of 6:45.
😮💨 Now it says 7:15. Blame my college's Wi-Fi.
lol
No worries I’m just kidding
College WiFi has been the bane of file sharing ever since Napster 😝
go far enough back and it was the opposite. in college I was on a T1 line when everyone was dial-up or at most cable. it was glorious.
I started looking at Jod's story as one similar to Kanan's. Like a "What If" episode existed in Star Wars. Kanan had a decent enough start as a Padawan but it's largely unknown what happens to him after. Who does he meet, who does he get involved with to keep him on his path? We kinda see what happens when Jod meets the "wrong" people. Both had some training (albeit Kanan had a lot more I'm assuming), both had their Jedi master killed in front of them, both grew up,
What if?
Kanan did have the benefit of being raised from very early childhood within the Jedi Order.
His life wasn’t really a mess until Order 66.
Jod however appears to have spent his pre-Order 66 life being raised by a hole in the ground.
And by starvation.
But yes it would be interesting to know what could have become of Jod if his master had lived long enough to get him on a path of “trying to do the right thing”.
So, here's a funny story of something that happened as I was walking towards the exit door of the theater where the cast panel was.
On my left was an older woman who had that white owl from Harry Potter on her shoulder. (I don't know the owl's name.) On my right was a teen girl with an impressive Bo-Katan cosplay. The owl was a fancy animatronic that responded to the woman's voice. She was demonstrating to me and the girl as we were walking toward the exit when the owl suddenly lept off her shoulder! The girl was able to catch the owl, so no harm came to the animatronic. I exclaimed "Bo-Katan can use the force!" 🤣
The whole thing was mysterious because according to the woman, the owl is not supposed to have the ability to jump.
This shot was originally going to be from behind the squadron of X-wings, following them in, but our previz artist and amazing animator Mate Medricky whipped up this idea all on his own one night. We all loved it and pitched it the next day and now it's a Star Wars shot forever!
please help me budget
That set looks pretty sweet, even has little legos of the kids and Jod
It is a cool set - it doesn’t have the ||hull separation feature|| or more regrettably SM-33. But overall it is great
I wondered if SM was part of it
See, if only kids these days got rid of their fancy avocado toast goat cheese pizza, they'd be able to afford a couple cars and a nice ranch house!
TBS Reveal: Deluxe SM-33 (with Snowball) (07) from the Skeleton Crew - preorder tomorrow ($33.99) at 1pm ET #hasbro #blackseries #starwarsblackseries #skeletoncrew #atattin #starwars #sm33

With Snowball!
I can’t say that I won’t be preordering SM-33 tomorrow (along with Peridea Ezra and TVC Ventress, Kallus, and the long awaited Carson Teva!!!).
just finished watching skeleton crew. gotta say, pretty good. SM-33 definitely was my favorite character throughout the series
You’re telling me Mrs Ikk and the Frogdog weren’t really there?!
Wow they didn’t even use a standin dog? That’s impressive cause it looked motion captured
It may have been motion captured elsewhere
I loved that scene cause I pictured a chihuahua in a mocap suit lol
Mocap Chihuahua: “I don’t know what’s happening but I am involved.”
Skeleton crew reference in Outlaw DLC:
it's up there for me, too
Still waiting for the full ||Tak Rennod space shanty||.
I enjoyed many, many moments from the series, but that was one of the parts that made me really happy.
My big happy moment was the ||TRASH CRABS 🦀||
we ||deserved it||
Why though
humans are just ||trash crab food||
…ok that’s fair
And ||Jod might even agree with that||
Having ||a cynical view of the galaxy (and of people) as he does||.
It’s just sad that ||such cute friends only wanted to feed us to their Mom||.
While still being cute.
man I still want a story where ||Jod joins Luke's Jedi Academy||
…I feel like ||Luke would deliberately make Jod take his first classes with some ten year olds.||
||To teach him humility.||
||And test his ability to remain calm while once again being surrounded by children.||
So is this show worth watching?
Yes
It's charming. Goonies in space, a great new droid, and Jude Law's character is so interesting.
Skeleton Crew is a Goonies/Amblin type adventure story set around the same time as The Mandalorian and the Ahsoka show (so 9-12 ABY).
It does not intertwine in a significant way with the plots of any other Star Wars shows (there is one named pirate character who was in Mando Season 3, but he’s a minion-level pirate in both stories, not a main character).
It's not a long show, easily bingeable, give it a shot.
It contains the following:
~Pirates
~Children who behave like children (but not in an excessively annoying way, just a normal way).
~Suburbia (which isn’t really something we’ve seen much or at all in Star Wars, but its existence is relevant to the story)
~Jude Law being a very good actor
~Also practical puppets for droids and aliens (which is something that happens in pretty much every Star Wars show/movie, but it is all very good in this show).
~an excellent acrobatics show that is a reference to another beloved piece of Star Wars media
Yeah something light would be nice too
It’s not 100% light, but it is child friendly and definitely lighter than Andor.
…it’s 1980s child friendly.
I was pretty sure it was ABY….?
It is ABY.
I totally wrote the wrong thing.
I’m gonna fix it now, and also post a Finding Nemo gif 😄
It’s all better now. 😅
Black Series SM-33 arrived today!!!
Nice!
Skeleton Crew is pretty cute so far
My parents aren’t big SW people and I couldn’t get them into Andor, but they absolutely loved this show
I’m only 2 episodes in
Star Wars Ratatouille!
his name is Snowball
I dunno if At Attin even gets snow
Perhaps he was named Snowball before SM-33 crashed on At Attin. I don't think any of the characters ever mention his name in the show. We only know it thanks to the StarWars.com Databank. My guess is he gained the name from someone on Captain Rennod's crew.
…do we think Snowball was alive back when the ship crashed?
He’s an alien rat so it’s possible. But I has assumed he was an At Attin rat who had burrowed into the ship from the outside and made his home therein.
When he first showed up in Episode 2, the latter was my original theory. But by the end of the series, I started to believe the former. After all, we have no idea what the maximum life span of a creature in the Star Wars galaxy is. Maz Kanata has been confirmed to be over 1000 years old, and her death has not been shown on screen.
Fair enough.
I vaguely remember reading a Star Wars novel that mentioned that your home planet had an effect on your lifespan, even if you were humanoid. I.E. Corellians like Han might live longer than Tatooinians like Anakin. But that book is now Legends, so I'm not sure if that's canon or not.
It is generally understood that living on Tatooine ages people faster.
And while this fact is mostly to cover for how the original actors for Obi Wan and Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru were all older than they should have been chronologically (as the prequels established later) it also makes sense because nobody ages well in a desert with one sun, let alone two.
Finished it
It was fine
Felt more like a movie dragged out to be a tv show
Jude Law was great though
Starting to see some black series of em show up in Ross's
Def nabbing them whenever I find one
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice
Speaking of Skeleton Crew black series figures at Ross, I found a Wim this morning!
Ross?
Why the "?"? I'm not sure what the question is.
Ross Dress for Less is a chain of stores that sell remainder products that didn't sell out in other stores
like TJ Maxx and Home Goods and the late Big Lots and Tuesday Morning
(if the question was "what is Ross?")
Yeah that's what I meant lol
Like you can find a lot of those figures discounted there
I saw a Greef Carga from The Mandalorian S3 and a Sabine Wren from Ahsoka in Ollie's at a heavily discounted price the other day.
I don't live in Florida anymore, though. So, most of you probably aren't anywhere near this Ollie's.
we have members all over the country, and world, so any information is useful
Okay. It was in Rochester, NY. I'm not sure if there's more than one in Rochester, and I'm not sure of the address either.
There was also an Ollie's a few blocks from my old house, and it had Black Series figures every time I went. I just never thought to say anything here. I have the address of this one.
7044 W Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32818
I finally found a Captain Brutus after months of searching Ross stores
