Rip Oreos
Flowers are only flowers because they fall
I keep forgetting I bought the Oreos because we keep baked goods in the microwave even though the gremlin has been gone for months.
I still have a box and a half. 😁
I have a third of a package left, but that’s out of the two latest packages 😂
I get a package or two whenever I see them while shopping lol
Haven’t gotten (too many) odd looks for turning them over to look at what the UPC code ends in lol
Saaaaame.
I got the individually packed box from Sam’s, and I think it was the best idea for me. If not, I would eat them all with th excuse it will go stale. 😂
Leslye Headland has actually said EXACTLY THAT twice, just in more professional words. Her explanation was more along the lines of this: My goal is not to shock the audience with a big unexpected reveal, but instead to drop tiny clues along the way and have it be slightly more obvious, but in a good way. It allows for more drama in some cases. That's basically what I remember her saying.
Does the light side taste different from the dark side? If not, I don't understand this whole UPC code thing. Why not just buy the one on the top and be surprised? Isn't being surprised one of the marketing points of these Oreos?
Because I don't want any Jedi scum in this house.
Wow... Some of you guys get serious about these things, I see. Now I understand why there's a red kyber crystal next to your name.
I do think we should all be free to choose which color of icing gets stuck in the gaps of our teeth.
But we can also choose to be surprised.
When we feel like it.
I heard that some of the crickets you feed to your lizards might be Jedi crickets.
Before they’re eaten.
Oh you can name the crickets Jecki and Yord. 😬😅
Do you know how hard it is to find 80 different Jedi every other week so I can name every cricket before it gets eaten?
No one would fault you for repeating a few names.
Being sith is a hard life. Living on rocky planets with warm ocean pools, sacrificing jedi-crickets.
I mean it’s been a few weeks. 😜
Also Charlie Barnett did that video where he thanked all the Yord fans and apologized for being dead.
That’s a sign that the healing can begin.
And I responded to it!
Because you deserve to be included. 😄
Let us include you, FreeBird.
I’m still not over it, dang Charlie being so infectiously enthusiastic
And I'm still not over it. Opening a scene on her lifeless corpse in episode 6 didn't help lol
now we've all forgotten who actually blew up the death Star, according to him xD
Totally understandable.
They did that to us on purpose lol.
Honestly when I heard that story, I just thought “but his character is supposed to be a stick-in-the-mud who gets things wrong?
So him mixing up who blew up the Death Star isn’t him disregarding the lore, it’s typecasting.”
It’s a sign he will play his character well. 😅
They did! So rude lol
my joke was that people mix up POCs all the time. it's okay that he mixed up Anakin and Luke. 😂 his character doesn't know cause he's hundreds of years earlier, sooooo still accurate.
And that’s another thing.
I know we’re sad that Jecki and Yord were violently murdered. But even if they had lived to die of old age, they would have passed away years before the Prequel era.
So from a certain point of view, they’ve always been dead.
i think someone else mentioned it before, but isn't Yoda the only live action/animated Jedi to die of old age?
probably some comic or Legends Jedi though
No… there is… wait… I’m sure I could tell you many examples… if I knew them…
Also Rex. I am headcannoning that Rex dies of old age.
What's that? Rex isn't a Jedi? Well in my book experience outranks everything.
Watching people die of old age usually isn't dramatic, so we don't see it much.
Some have debated Luke and Leias deaths as natural.
I wish they had let Admiral Akbar die peacefully.
i do not count Luke or Leia's deaths as natural causes or old age.
Neither do I, but... anyway
What do you mean? Luke and Leia dead?
And yet people will still say this show makes Anakin less special.
Yeah there's many maaaaany vergences in the force woven all throughout Star Wars. The Cave of Evil on Dagobah comes to mind
Whomever created Anakin (canonically) spent a considerable amount of time researching the concepts of conception through the force, which implies that Anakin wasn't the first to be conceived this way. There was a precedence there. If anything, seeing the ramifications the births of Mae/Osha may have caused could be why the force views it as a big no-no
So not something the witches did when they arrived. They just took advantage of the power source. Neat!
Ley lines.
This makes sense! We've seen planets that foster levels of sentience, which could potentially amplify force-sensitivity or overall force abilities in others. Planet X and Lenahra comes to mind!
Brendok may have amplified thread abilities in the witches, which made the conception of life much easier
The Jedi games are full of vergences that have you do challenges
I've always kinda viewed those kind of vergences as just game mechanics ngl
So cool to see a location based one, but seems no witch ever threw themselves into that hole in the mountain to see if she’d level up
I mean technically they’re Force-induced hallucinations, just establishing they’re powerful force…things, and aren’t super duper rare
i thought Mae was going to jump in and then come blasting out of it like a super Saiyan or something 😂
idk why 🤷🏽♀️ it's not like Aniseya seems that dangerous until she starts her magic.
That's her secret. She's always doing magic.
Okay well now I feel extra bad for him.
He watched her cry and shake her dead mother on the ground three feet away from him.
Mae’s emotions are exactly what he would be vulnerable to.
Maybe he should have taken a vow that included talking to a therapist
Not if the therapy is provided by droids with routine mind wipes and a soulless list of questions.
The Jedi definitely have a poor emotional support system since they think they aren’t supposed to have emotions. And it leads inevitably to the bad eggs that end up causing wars
I hope somewhere in the galaxy there is good therapy.
Provided by actual good therapists.
They can be droids, you just can’t memory wipe them.
They need to be able to remember and adapt their techniques.
Like, how many younglings died cause no one besides Padme ever gave Anakin a hug
And Ahsoka a couple of times.
But your point stands.
True, but yeah, had Anakin been given even half decent therapy he probably doesn’t turn
If only Obi had just said “dang, tell me all about it bro!” rather than “they’ll pass” when Anakin confided about the dreams about his mother
Sol and Osha needed a boat load of therapy, instead now Osha has a decent chance of going dark side but also Sol has a small chance if he doesn’t die
I agree! I think the episode demonstrates the importance of having the reins on one's emotions. It's ok to feel feelings, but making every decision based solely on temporary and misunderstood emotions (instead of having a balance between emotions vs. practicality) will always lead to trouble. The Jedi have an obligation to keep these things in check, because their messing up could destroy the galaxy. Sol's desire to help the children seemed well-intentioned, but the unchecked impulsiveness lead to the dismantling of the children's lives, and the presumed extermination of a group of people. Sol, so focused on himself, completely disregarded the future of the children
This is why I love the High Republic. We see Jedi breaking down and dealing with difficult emotions and getting support and help
This this this! With how big the Jedi Order is, especially during the time of the HR, I certainly think they have Jedi psychiatrists and other productive resources for gaining the reins on one's mental health. It makes me happy seeing how the Jedi both recognize and tackle those emotions!
Orla Jarenni, LPC
Orla is who Anakin needed the most!
🎵 Where have all the Orlas gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the Orlas gone?
Long time ago 🎵
You’d think they’d have holocron recordings of them
We're definitely seeing the beginning of the decline and it's hard to see.
I mean technically we know Orla has recordings
Ugh, the one thing I dislike about this show taking place when it does, I would love to see Orla in live action. I don't know much about her or her stories, but her design is just chef's kiss
I'm hoping an HR anthology series could explore some of her adventures!
In Alphabet Squadron there's a therapist droid made out of an IT-O with the polarity reversed.
So there’s an in-canon Dr. Ball from Robot Chicken?
Continuing the grand tradition of giving Jedi strange and exotic names by simply using the ones my family gots.
Yeah, kind of.
I would absolutely accept psychiatric help from a Dr. Ball.
He’s acerbic, but he gets to the root of the problem.
Amazing
I should go watch a compilation of Dr. Ball.
Speaking of Orla Jareni, I wonder when/if we'll get figures of Jedi from that era.
I’m still angry about how ||she died! She didn’t deserve it. I love how Elzar talked about her to Avar, and I was so scared when Avar almost died from that nameless. It definitely would’ve tip Elzar to the dark side.|| (Spoilers for Temptation of the Force)

LOUDER. FOR. THOSE. IN. THE. BACK.
Makes a lot of sense honestly
There’s a glorious Tumblr thread about an AU where someone took a minute to think about Anakin’s personality and instead of training him to be a warrior they made him a crechemaster. What’s his biggest (in the Jedi’s eyes) flaw? Attachments. Who will benefit from attachments? Smol children.
And it also ends up teaching him how to let go in a healthy way because when it’s time for the Younglings to move on to the Big Kid Class there’s also a new batch of tiny kids who need him.
I love the show too but this isn't comparable and 2 wrongs don't make a right, this is a hypocrisy fallacy
That beam can roll, unpredictable, a bridge can only go down in that scene
I've never cared for people judging the show for their own tastes, only when it's attacking others is when it's actually a problem. We don't need the hate
sigh
The point is A being we KNOW to be incredibly strong in the force IN THE MOMENT couldn't do both. Why would someone who we have no knowledge of their strength in the force beyond HEY HES A JEDI MASTER come under scrutiny?
Trying to find gifs or Torbin and getting nothing but Saw gifs
Reminder, this is a fictional shield about space wizards and pew pew lasers
Not even a MASTER at that point. Heck, we don't even know how long Sol was a Knight before that point.
The issue is you're giving them what they want. You basically conceded to their complaint by saying hey, this was stupid 20 years ago too ya know
Whether that was dumb or not by Yoda doesn't change what the show portrayed. So by saying that was stupid in AOTC, you're admitting sol was also an idiot
Idk but a Giant Pillar and two small girls are completely different lol
And a fun fact that I cannot believe I have to keep reiterating: SOL WAS PANICKING. PEOPLE WHO ARE PANICKING DO NOT MAKE RATIONAL DECISIONS.
This is a reasonable take, that should be talked about instead of sending hate towards the prequel fans
Maybe Dooku was using Force Fear on Yoda so he was Forced to move the pillar instead of Obi and Anakin
No one is sending hate at prequel fans here. Yikes...
Also, THAT ENTIRE POST WAS SARCASM.
PEOPLE DON'T MAKE RATIONAL DECISIONS.
(fixed it for you)
Preach
My god, I can type, I swear...
I'm just trying to get you to understand a little that the way we feel when idiots rip on the show is a similar feeling to using the prequels inconsistencys on that part of the fandom that's all
It isn't deep or anything, just wanted everyone to be treated equally for what they like
Also, something that was brought up on Twitter was someone saying the Jedi have no right to make judgement calls on how well someone else's children are being raise since they train them to be soldiers. I categorically deny that the Jedi pre-Clone Wars are treated as soldiers. I also don't believe that they send "children" out into danger on purpose. Jecki was 18 on her first field assignment. That's her first time out of the Temple for official business in over a decade. So, I thought about all the scenes we see of Jedi training and it's one of two things: 1) Meditation. Or 2) Lightsaber training of some kind. WE have just as little right to judge the Jedi than Sol had to judge the coven. We don't see the poor overstressed Jedi Master trying to teach a bunch of hyperactive 4 year olds to calm their minds. We don't see Force food fights in the cafeteria. We don't see a bunch of 12-14 year olds howling and growling in Shriiwook. So....I think we should get a show that's just day-to-day life in the Jedi Temple during the early days of the High Republic.
It wasn't a rip into the prequels though, it was literally pointing out what people sound like when they complain about stuff in all recent star wars media.
"That's how ya'll sound about the Acolyte. Stop."
Could have very easily used any number of scenes from the OT and it would still be the same thing
Orrrr maybe Sol wasn’t even tryna save Mae since she tried to kill Osha and lied about the test for the Mothers
I get what you are trying to say here, but the point is not that the prequels are inconsistent, it's that if The Acolyte is stupid then the media the the people complaining about it hold up as "done right" must have the same scrutiny applied if you're approaching things in good faith. So either both are fine or neither are. The important words here are "in good faith" though, and we know that there's a problem with people "failing" to do that.
Why didn’t they just fly straight at the thermal exhaust port rather than through a trench? Worst movie ever /s
Luke only spent a couple of days in a swamp with this old frog guy how was he even able to last one minute against vader?
Why didn’t Luke just use hyperspeed to blow up the Deathstar? So dumb indeed
Why even bother? Just do the maths and accelerate the torpedoes from beyond tracking range and let them coast in /s.
Something something "asteroids are expensive".
Might work but the Death Star can move, so, worst movie ever
I will now spend the next 20 years devoting my life to the worst movie ever
Referencing this old meme, which everyone should read because it's hillarious. https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/comments/8xgysv/rocks_are_not_for_free/
Heheheheheh
No torpedo can make a sharp 90 degree turn, movie bad
DAMMIT, you beat me to it lol
I just realized something.
The fake cover up line from Empire Strikes Back that was used in the script (to hide the ‘Darth Vader is Luke’s father’ reveal from almost everyone) was “You don’t know the truth. Obi-Wan killed your father”.
And that fake plot twist is happening now for real in The Acolyte.
Osha’s teacher killed her mother, and this whole time she didn’t know the truth.
At least Sol didn’t cut off every extremity and then leave Aniseya for dead next to a river of molten lava
But does it balance out that Obi Wan didn’t do that to Vader in front of his wife and kid(s)?
Because Sol did murder Aniseya in front of her wife and kid.
I wonder how Osha will find out though
Will she believe Qimir if he says Sol killed Aniseya
I’ve actually been wondering if she finds out via the helmet.
Sol was possibly gonna spill the beans after the mission, but then Mae did a switcheroo
Like maybe that’s why her putting it on was the last scene in episode 6, instead of the scene with Sol’s line “you’re going to listen”.
Ooooohhh right we all know this infor but completely forgot she doesn't know
Possibly the director of episode 6 wanted to make it clear that Osha was tapping into the true story of episode 7, which Sol was telling to Mae.
Ooh interesting thought, maybe she saw Episode 7 like we did
Exactly.
It’s a bit of a stretch but I like the idea, so I’m thinking of it that way until I’m proven wrong.
It’s also possible Sol just finds Osha next and tells her.
I don’t think Qimir will tell Osha.
I think he wants Sol to reveal it himself, for Sol to rip apart his relationship with Osha for good.
I just still stuck on EP6 as well. Qimir let Osha walk around and be free. Where Sol once he fully knows just locks Mae down
I mean I got the feeling episode 3 was her recollection of events, so it stands to reason episode 7 could be what she sees/remembers while really focusing
And using the helmet
Or she was connected to Mae in some fashion and listening in on what Sol was telling her
no it was a jedi point of view it really seemed. It really seems from Sol point of view. caught part of conversations and really infered from there
Love a good ObiAni scene
I absolutely love how the lightsaber blades look in this show
The yellow ones especially
The yellows look so nice
I want Yord and Torbin’s as legacies but then they’d need to be v2 blades or I’d be disappointed
The current lime yellow wouldn’t do them justice
We demand rich golden blades for the rich golden era of the Jedi!
Kelnacca’s is perfect for making into a legacy, it would look right at home next to a Protection and Defence Savi
But I bet Sol or Vern are first to get a legacy
I think they purposefully did most or all of the lightsaber fights at night because how good they looked
Not that the fights wouldn’t have been just as good in daylight, but that scene of Torbin just barely holding off Kelnacca and his face is lit almost purely by the two sabers, just 🔥
My only issue with them is a mostly consistent issue with all of the saber effects on TV. The fanning effect when being swung is, at times, very poor towards the tip of the sabers. They've gotten better about it. It was especially bad in The Mandalorian though when Luke showed up.
No. I demand peach instead!
Peaches!
I keep missing the "u" and typing "yoi."
I’m gonna have to check out that show, I’ve never seen it
Cancelled my Netflix subscription awhile ago
Yes. I have noticed that they are better at that in animation. Also, can anyone explain to me why dust flies off Ben's lightsaber every time it connects with Vader's saber in A New Hope?
I think it's smoke from the wall panel after their lightsabers gauged into it
It was filmed from an peculiar angle so it appeared as if the smoke was coming from their hilts. I could also be completely wrong!
I believe that's dust from the reflective stuff on the blades because they're colliding honestly harder and faster than they should be given what they are.
hello. 😐
oh, hello! 😀
hi. 😐
hi? 😀? ... 😲! hi. 😏
Rewatched Osha and Qimir’s first encounter a couple times to see if there was a discernible moment where Qimir realized it wasn’t Mae.
I think in the first few seconds he reacts as if it’s Mae—he focuses on the persona he’s been playing, doing his standard greeting.
Also he’s got goggles on, so he’s probably not focusing very hard on her because his regular vision is obstructed anyway.
But after Osha greets him a second time, he starts to realize something is up—that it looks like Mae in the force, but it’s not Mae. He says hi again, and allows a bit of confusion into his voice.
Then he takes off his goggles to get a genuinely good look at her. That’s when he realizes fully who is in front of him, and he continues as his persona but now with intent—he’s going to play along that Osha is Mae, and use the moment to observe and study her.
And then when he gets close and drops the "You look just like her" line, he drops the mask entirely for a moment.
Swoon
Swoon? Seriously? Swoon? You’re swooning for the guy who killed Jecki and Yord?
Why do girls always fall for the bad guys?
So that was a pretty solid episode but metal detectors? Come on that was soooooo lame!
No… uhm… they were… Force detectors… I think… uh… yeah…
At least they weren’t vacuum cleaners.
I have as much of an issue with the props department repurposing metal detectors into ambiguous bio-material scanners as I do with them repurposing ladies’ safety razor handles into communication devices.
Which is to say no issue, because why not.
I think they could have greeblied them up a bit more. Since you don't normally talk into a razor it wasn't immediately obvious what it was. But using (metal detector) nearly unchanged as (life detector) did seem pretty earthly.
not show-ruining or anything, just could have added some bits and glowy stuff or something
That was probably one of the things Kelnacca was complaining about that they just rolled their eyes at. “Guys, why am I using a metal detector to find a Vergence?”
Eh, real world objects getting a slight overhaul to be sci-fi gizmos is a tradition. Han's DL-44 being a Mauser with a scope and a new "muzzle", the E-11 being a machine gun with parts REMOVED, the aforementioned Gilette razor as a comunicator
It's fiction and he is adorable. His little trip. His sweet little voice.
Jecki was self defense at that point. And Yord needed to get good.
Now Han and Anakin can go kick rocks.
I happen to like nice people.
Han can kick rocks?
Luke is better for me.
I am a Luke girl through and through.
But I'm happy for Leia.
Also the "wah why do girls like bad boys" reminds me that men like mean girls ALL THE TIME.
Despite what Steven He claims, there is a difference between emotional damage and lightsaber damage.
I love my nerds.
Luke, Brasso, Echo, Bode, Qimir
Although if I had to choose between Qimir and Aniseya, I'm going with Aniseya.
🎵 I can fix him, no, really I can
The ‘fun’ part about The Stranger is it’s him that fixes you to his way of thinking.
You don’t even get the luxury of failing to fix him but still keeping your own opinions.
Now you’re just on the dark side too, and it will forever dominate your destiny.
Whoops.
You're not entirely incorrect
A gun being tranformed into a Scifi gun is one thing. This was just really bad. There's nothing you can do to gussy up a metal detector to not make it instantly recognizable
It's only bad if you let it be bad. For crying out loud, wouldn't it make sense to make a scanner that you can scan the soil for abnormalities without having to bend over to do it?
I didn’t really even notice it until I read this channel. Wasn’t paying too much attention to the prop as I was to the characters I guess lol
Also, far from the only time that a sci-fi franchise used a metal detector as a stand in for some other kind of scanning device, as seen in this screenshot from Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country.
I noticed it right away as the neck of that thing looked exactly like our vacuum cleaner. I was relieved when I saw it was a metal detector.
That doesn't make it any less bad lol
its a show. with space wizards, it requires you to suspend disbelief in general
You do realize that sometimes you just use what you can rather than spend money on creating a prop from scratch.
Not true! I just like girls who tell me what to do… I mean… uh…. Forget about that.
we noticed it looked just like a metal detector. we laughed. we moved on, because there was so much else in the episode that was so good.
Yeah well I'm allowed to have an opinion about it. So maybe just stop trying to argue with me?
It seem that here are quite a few people who come in here, rile stuff up, and leave.
?mute @craggy dune 2hr while some of what you said is true, let’s find ways to rephrase it.
gaming_wraith was muted. | while some of what you said is true, let’s find was to rephrase it.
You get the idea
Aniseya is a great character.
I hope we get some more of her, even in S2
Funnily enough radiation detectors tend to look rather similar, for the obvious reason of "you don't want to get too close".
Well then, wouldn't that make sense that that's what Kelnacca's device is checking for considering Brendok was formerly lifeless?
Well probably not, considering she's, you know...dead
Yup, I'd assume that it was some form of detector for "weird stuff over there". Best to keep it at arm's length unless you're sure it's not dangerous.
Meanwhile, poor Sol and Torbin are picking grass. Look, I'm not gonna say Torbin was justified in what he did, but if I were in his shoes, I'd be looking for any way to go home too.
That kind of field work is sure to be boring and tedious
I mean technically she’s been dead since the first episode and yet we’ve seen her twice. Could easily be more flashbacks in a potential season 2, especially if they decide to dig deeper into the coven’s background. Difficult at this point to know what to expect.
because that's ever stopped Star Wars before 😂
His name was…cut in half
Why leave the comment up?
Oops
I keep noticing this each time I watch, Koril: “take another step and it’ll be your last” (Sol and Torbin proceed to take like 2-3 steps closer lol)
Somehow.. Aniseya returned
Just one more day and we get to see how many crazy mysteries they’ve left us to endlessly speculate about
... and a flash forward to Tech's wedding
- next episode is just all the characters sitting around eating pizza.
Pip gets a little inorganic oil-based pizza.
But what about Qimir and Osha? Do they get pizza?
Everyone gets pizza
Pizza is like atmosphere
Everyone automatically has access to it regardless of morality.
Unless they insult my pizza. Then….
I mean how would that be any different than your usual casserole offerings?
No pizza for you!!!
Pizza? Shouldn’t it be shawarma?
I mean you can probably get shawarma somewhere in the Galaxy.
Probably several somewheres.
Or pizza.
Whatever you like.
Osha wakes up standing on the outside of the ship she was repairing, all events part of a vision she saw in the fire. Everybody's happy and alive and it makes her realize she misses them and that's how they have their pizza party.
Osha smiles at her family and friends as they stand around the table on Sol’s ship, munching pizza.
Then she feels a tug at her ankles, and looks down.
It’s a little baby skura, trying to get her attention.
And she realizes she’s standing alone in a dark side cave full of cortosis veins on Unknown Planet, with a chisel and pick in her hands.
Trying to collect enough cortosis to build her own dark side helmet.
At least the skura is cute.
Does it tug her ankle or put the trunk on her skin and lightly apply suction like a tiny lamprey?
It hooks its tiny trunk into the cuff of her pants and pulls.
Kind of like a cat paw tugging at pant cuffs.
||And I killed Sparky Bazil too!”||
…actually if that happens I’m gonna be sad. ☹️
only 42 minutes... thats not long enough!
oh wait was thinking that was tonights episod
Rewatching, and seven weeks into the mission, no one had told Torbin why they were on Brendok or what a vergence was.
For all that Brendok has a vergence like the cave on Dagobah, going into that facility had a lot of "only what you take with you" as far as the Jedi getting what they expected.
or his eyes glazed over every time Indara gave a briefing
I've been there.
I can sympathize
Torbin having emotions and the rest of the Jedi being unable to help him manage them is pretty on-brand though.
