It’s SW… we don’t need a huge monologue. Obi Wan smiled, raised his saber, closed his eyes, and was an empty cloak in a few seconds.

TBH, I think something else (NR, mythosaur, etc) will show up and send Gideons forces scrambling and fleeing. We don’t need to see everyone fleeing to devote 15 minutes to it. Mythosaur gets out. Gideon goes “oh 🤬, abandon base”, alarm blares, after a few minutes of mayhem a scene of imperial ships high tailing it is all thats needed

Mandalore’s growth becomes the side thing…like how we watched Nevarro grow over time by visiting it periodically.

Hoping for Grogu ||building his own saber with the leftovers||. ||Orphan Ragnar finally getting baptized broke my heart. Din finally adopting Grogu as his son melted my heart. || UFFF! This episode showed me that Ricky F just absolutely gets Star Wars. Star Wars is supposed to be and always has had a silly component to it. That was a heavy heavy episode. To me; the ending was an ode to the lightheartedness. I LOVE Filoni (and his cameos) but Rick is not too far behind. All of his episodes just hit perfectly.

There is an art to adding in the silliness/lightheartedness without destroying a plot or story. It’s what made Lucas so great. Rick has that gift too.

Neither interceptors nor bombers had hyperdrives, at least not pre-Endor. I'm not saying they couldn't have been upgraded, but they didn't have them in any of the X-wing or TIE Fighter games or role-playing game source books. TIE advanced and TIE Defenders had hyperdrives, so did Assault Gunboats.

In fact, the thing that would be great to see going forward would be Teva calling Mando in for tough jobs in a Rangers of the New Republic show, and once in a while Mando being all "ooooh... yeah, I'd love to help but Grogu has sportsball practice tonight. Can it wait until tomorrow?"

I’m thinking it’s an Aq Vetina naming convention.
Din Djarin has the same name he was born with. It’s not a Mandalorian name, it’s a name from the culture of his dead parents.
Possibly in that culture the family name comes before the personal name.

It was Legends content, but the chain code made it Canon.

Anyway, my thoughts: God what an awful piece of-Yeah no, I couldn't keep that up. This was a fantastic finale, something happy ending after the big DOWNER that was The Bad Batch(though it was amazing in its own rights). Really felt like our boy Din(calling him by his family name because I don't think I'm cool enough to be on a first name basis with the man lol) got to prove that, while weapons may be his religion, he doesn't need them. Even without weapons, he is a warrior still. Grogu helped! And was incredibly animated through all of this, just his little steppy steps when he was walking through that bar at the end, he's definitely come a long away from just stumbling forward until he gets picked up and carried. I believe there could be some credence to the Gideon we saw being a clone rather than the real one, but I still am happy he went up in a fireball. And as for the Darksaber? If Bo-Katan feels like she needs a laser sword, not only does she have a Jedi buddy on speed dial, that Jedi buddy knows a droid who was probably active when Tarre Vizsla first MADE the Darksaber. It is technology, it can be fixed. It is not Excalibur or Narsil, it doesn't need "magic" to fix. Unless the crystal was cracked, in which case just wait for Rey, she can do it 😆
Also, R5 dealing with those mouse droids? Those little guys should be grateful R5 is more of a "I don't have to put up with this, I'M OUT" droid. If it had been R2 or Chopper? They would've been trashed. Especially if it'd been Chop.

I think Gideon had already started up some secret cloning work by the time the New Republic “found him” and he gave them a clone to kill.

So, Din is a family name?

This finale was fine. Not great, not terrible, but next to nothing happened. The Mandalorians took back Mandalore. That's it. Gideon definitely isn't gone - his Iron Man suit can certainly take a little heat, and those can't be his only clones. The whole "using Grogu's blood to make a viable Palpatine clone" got thrown out, making him next to irrelevant in the grand scheme of Star Wars now. The Darksaber got destroyed after being made basically irrelevant anyway since the imps had beskar and the mando clans had already been reunited. Grogu undeservedly got put on the same pedestle as Kanan, but only stopped a weak explosion that didn't seem to damage anything and them and didn't die. Mando adopts Grogu, but, like, he basically already had anyway. It wasn't ever really stated who the multiple spies were - it clearly wasn't Axe Woves, Koska Reeves, or the armorer, nor was it those Mandalorian survivors who planted some gardens. So. Yeah, ig it's just the Shadow Council spying for Thrawn until he comes back?

I called at the beginning of the episode that the only real return would be of IG-11.

Now that I'm done complaining, though, the action was pretty great. I enjoyed seeing the armorer flying around smashing stormtroopers with a hammer, and seeing the Darksaber get put to work. Koska Reeves using those knee rockets was pretty cool, too, very smooth. I thought Djarin's two hallway fights were fun and well done. I am glad they did at least settle what the cloning situation was about, and that Grogu wasn't totally merked by those praetorian guards. That fight was also well done, and they did a good job (up to the explosion) of keeping Grogu's powers believable for a jedi of his level and training.

Overall, I think it was the best episode of season 3, but definitely weakest of the finales so far.
