I'm crazy, I still run a mostly rull red AR build. Just like my SC character, though atm due to not finding anything better my chest has a blue core. Still working on that watch though so I can start replacing pieces with proper parts (like getting rid of Ceska).

Full blue TP build is my go to. Memento, pointman or belstone chest with vanguard. Armor regen on all pieces, with CHD on the chest. Mods are 2chd/1chc. Weapon is chameleon. I use gunner with it to solve ammo problems and 10% aok. It’s also a super fast and easy build to toss together as the first build at 40.

Brings you to crit cap, and has the effective power of 11 reds, 6 blues, and one yellow.

ND, memento, and ceska/unbreakable chest. Roll 1 ND core blue and you've got 2 blue cores, t4 crusader shield, memento bonus armor/regen, and still plenty of damage.

There are so many different builds that work as well on hardcore. Having an „afk-build“ loadout can be useful also.
I would focus on the build for your preferred playstyle and then maybe adjust it for some more survivability.
I would also strongly recommend not to experiment on hardcore, like testing builds which u never used before.

fun on normal but on hardcore that can ruin your day

location, location, location. XD you don't think twice about engaging in a fight in the middle of the street, but in HC ya gotta be aware of ur surroundings, and that group of enemies slowly creeping up behind you can definitely change ur outlook on things. XD

Anyone care to disclose the age ( in hours played ) of you largest HC toon loss? I play very conservative, and got a toon to over SHD 1000 HC, to lose it "in a sad way"

Had over 700 hrs in it.. most of 1st year HC game play. Some conservative play is (imo) the only way to get way up there.

currently around 9 days, getting close but not to SHD 500 yet....haven't died yet...YET. but these crashes make it a gamble.

first and only HC toon loss so far was that lvl 38 character to parnell cause I was standing directly in front of spawn door without knowing it. BIG OOF

Shd 770 or 780 now, dunno. Died several times but not too often. Can’t tell exactly which my longest playtime on one of them was.
Atm I got 2 toons at shd lvls and 3rd is on his way, so I would have to add their hours or stg.

If you get a mission fail on hardcore does it count as a death? I'm on tb and I don't wanna rush the final fight, I'd rather just try again than try to rush and die if I have the option

Question: What do you guys do when playing solo, e. g. cleared a cp and rogue agents appear. You always take the challenge?
Lately I nearly got killed by them had to retreat (better said run like chicken) and lick my wounds at the White House.

If the time runs out you don’t die and can restart the mission. Afaik that is for all mission objectives including the main objective on countdown.

Thanks! As a team we are OK with taking down the rogue agents on hard or challenging. My group even got me into a dicey situation once with rogues on heroic (sorry, corrected). Solo I probably avoid them all together, just for risk reasons (and not really needing the loot). I think even for convoys I subconsciously avoid certain area because of rogue agents.

Hey guys, I'm doing another run at hardcore and I was wondering if a crusader shield with a striker drone and shotgun/smg build is wise to stay safe

I want to allocate most of my gear on engeneering so my drone hits hard and my crusader stands strong, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to reach gear 500 with that kind of things

Yeah, I usually avoid the rogues, too, when playing solo. Can you tell the areas you avoid? Lately I noticed rogues appearing several times after taking cp sleeping giant and cinderblock

The area around the Archive. Frequented by both convoys and rogues.

Final Epiphany is also a spot for both convoys and rogues, but there I just avoid the safe house altogether (will lose Memento stack, while there are other fast travel methods, e.g. using classified assignments).

I wouldn’t mind a lot about my gear until lvl 40 and use whatever comes along with the highest gear score.
Exceptions: Armor pcs like bt which you shouldn’t neglect too much. And the main gun: If you feel uncomfortable with one that comes along with little higher gear score, ignore it.
Another question is if you really need to reach gear score 500 at all.

Challenging 3D resource convoys is probably the fastest and safest way in HC. Been knocking out 25 levels a day in about 90min.

I run Hunters Fury Four pc and Momento with zero Fs. Scorpio main and grudge secondary. Drone and shield. I have gotten to watch level 945 this way, my back up build is TP and point man with Momento. Reviver with crusader and chameleon and six12.

I don't think any of those tips are real good tips for leveling anyways... Best way to raise SHD (since you can't farm floor 10 on HC) is to just farm convoys in the open world on whatever difficulty and directives you feel comfortable with.

The checkpoints comment also doesn't really make much sense since there's no such thing as a challenging level 4 checkpoint. If it's level 4 then all the checkpoint enemies will be scales to heroic difficulty

i prefer convoys anyways cause the ability to really control the engagement location, and even finding spots where you know you're safe from enemies appearing behind you or something

like the safehouse in NE NY, go up rope of building across the street and you're safe from enemies for the most part. (unless you get a whole army of cleaner drones or something)

The main reason for convoys is how quickly you can complete them, and they give double the exp they are intended to.

Question. Is there a way to remove sniper sway so it's not like I'm getting a roggering from behind while trying to aim down scope.

Honestly find snipers to be a waste of time as most rifles and smgs will hit just as hard overall and are more user friendly and accurate.

Honestly taking into account time to aim, damage done per second and ease of use I can't find any reason to use one except as a support if your in full squad and just want 1 team mate to be safe at distance

you'll get less sway when stationary, less in cover, and less if you've got plenty of weapon handling in your build. Sniping can actually be a very quick way of clearing a bunch of elites if you've got a reasonably quick sniper (eg Mantis) and some HH stacks - you can usually pre-aim from cover, then zoom in and quickly snap off a shot then rinse and repeat.

it is a bit tougher in groups as enemies move around a lot more when dealing with multiple threats, but on the upside they're less likely to be focusing you (although Mantis' decoy power also does a good job of that)

I just find the damage not impressive.
Like I can hit around 350 to 450k average pershot with an assault rifle. So doing like 2m is laughable when I can do that in a second compared to like 3to5 .

Also if I need to go for like max weapon handling that would reduce headshot damage or armour damage perks meaning I don't really gain anything for the balance.

Weapon handling reduces sway. There's sniper builds setup with 100% weapon handling to completely remove it that are used in IH speedruns, although specing into it that much trades off some damage.

Also if your only hitting 2m per shot it sounds like your not really using a sniper build, so in that case they aren't worth using. But if you build into them and get headhunter stacks going, they will hit far higher than that.

I can do more than that but it means specing for the sniper as the main weapon and with most missions not exactly being sniper range it lacks versatility overall.

I think 🤔 the build I had before could do around 2.8m to around 3.5m

I found it to be less useful compared to other crit and headshot based builds with an smg or assualt rifle that not only reaches the same average overall damage if not a little lower but allowed far more freedom and playability.

When you look at smgs, assaults they can be used in a number of varied ways and be viable. When you look at snipers by your own admittance you have to use one specific talent or its useless limiting the overall usage.

It's silly that hay we have snipers in the game but we know they suck so we added a talent to make them good instead of just making snipers better overall

Sometimes I think Div2's biggest weakness is there is to much gear and stuff but not enough actually good content.

Make less gear, less perks, less talents and just make the stuff we have all viable.

God I feel sorry for any one who dares to get into Div2. You need a god damn masters degree to engineer builds 🤣

bah safe! i use a Rigger set with an attack turret and attack drone (i use Waveform, Rifle with In Sync, 4 of 6 optimized, 40/206).. do or die!
really though.. after making X amount of HC attempts.. this one has been the most successful, fun and rewarding (for me..).. my skills do all the work, i snipe..!
mind you i am doin this mostly for fun (and to see how far it takes me!).. but for the most part if i see someone standin around with a lvl40/2000+, i tend to look over their items..!

Well, as you said before most spots don’t offer a really sniper distance, especially missions imo. So you gotta deal with the fact that sniper is not really the most effective build or just choose a different one.

I don’t think about „safe“ too much, also. On ar/rifle I use 1 or 2 armor cores rest is red. Unbreakable is a must, but bloodsucker only works until challenging, not on heroic. So I think about switching to composure or vigilance there.

I also totally refuse to use a shield, so I run an smg build with „safety distance“ and rifle and another one with dark winter/scorpio, both with 3 blue cores and no shield.

I can’t play pure run&gun with them, have to use cover and be more careful, but works great until challenging.

Attack is the best defense but well, one mistake too much and „you are dead“ anyway.

Drone + shield + shotgun is my main HC build. I was lucky to get the scorpio and memento early on. I run it with 4pc foundry (1 rolled to red), belstone chest with unbreakable, CHC/CHD attributes and PfE mods. went from SHD 50 to my current 1000 with no deaths (though a few close calls lol)

Before that I used the classic 3pc empress with turret+drone (and unbreakable of course) and added waveform when I got it

Find someone who has a WT5 character, this helps in two ways one it levels you up a lot faster to 30 and two you get WT5 gear from your buddy so that person can run alone when he gets to 30 in WT0 world. Be careful though, make sure you are doing story mode or he won’t get credit for the missions, the more WT 5 run or 40s run with him this will also increase levels faster. Make sure he jumps back to his world every so often otherwise castle and campus can get buggy and outside crafting bench will also get buggy

If you get put on gen duty, just gotta watch out for the middle wipe mechanic. If you’re on add duty I’d recommend 2 or 4, they’re the easiest to do while staying in cover.

I run dps builds mainly and I barely use any exotics. They aren’t necessary. Of course, coyote mask is a good item. But if you got e. g. 60%chc anyway, there are much better choices.

I made it through DH on my HC with a 4 pc negotiators, 1 pc grupo, 1 pc Ceska. With my handy shield splinter and super 90, my chest piece was grupo with tamper proof so I can control my ads on boomer and Razorback where Lucy and buddy and RWD you have to count on team work and communication to get through.

@mossy lagoon I am going to answer your question here on leveling up to 30 on WT0, best way is to find someone who runs HC who has a beck up WT5 map, if you don’t have a buddy for this you may have a friend with a watch to help boost you but after all the missions and DUA and Roosevelt you will still be sitting around 26. My advice is to do projects, and side missions with ShD caches. Also do MLK library, the one ShD side mission in East mall that opens up the cp and the other one in west Potomac to open up the other CP

If you are still not there than run other side missions but if you have a HC watch with you you should get there within a few side missions

Well, in any case you are on PC and I am on PS. Personally I played through the full hardcore solo, and enjoyed it. But it was not with any kind of role-play. And obviously I also relish being able to tell the snobbier people that I played through fully by myself. Well, have luck finding someone. Even on Division 2, there is a dearth of hardcore players lately. A few in my clan have even deleted their high level (SHD > 1000) characters. Certainly the PC state of things (crashes) is even more discouraging.

The main part of WoNY is easier on hardcore than 1-30. For example, you can just do open world activities (easy to retreat) till you are level 40, the craft a proper/“safe” build. The Keener mission is a bit more challenging, but still safely soloable with a decent build. It is also easier to find help just for that mission.

Also in WoNY soon as you have 31 gear that is blue or better you can recal 40 core stats onto them. If you want to feel super safe you can be a 31 with 1.1mil armor. Typically I’ll do 4blue/2red if I bother recaling while leveling

I was fighting an elite patrol plus rogues at the NE safehouse in NY. The rogues kept shooting those darn oxidizers so I ran back to the safehouse to backtrack a little (I'm on the upper floor btw) only to find that the patrol chungas had walked his fat self up the stairs from the laundromat below and is now sitting in the hallway directly in front of the safehouse door (the only way in/out of that place). That was a rough situation cause I had no more armor packs. Ended up huffing it down the street taking back alleys to avoid the following enemies. XD

Also don't know if you guys figured this out, I just did. Your HC toon can sell items from stash that belongs to your main toon. So what I do is buy a ton of stuff with my main toon, then mark as junk and put in stash. Now my HC toon can sell these items to build up your 'cash' limit. Cause sometimes there's quality items on sale but you don't have enough cash. Then most items the HC toon farms is deconstructed for resources.

Also once you've unlock 'Recalibration station'. You can recalibrate one attribute on any item. Can't use 'Optimize' until you're reached level 40. But Recal is awesome because for eg: at level 25 your attributes are around 1 to 4% on average. Yes, this is new to the new vendor system, but to be expected for anyone familiar how the stach “worked” with hardcore. The stash is only blocked from being accessed, but the stash is there for all intent and purposes: You will not get exotic component drops if you happen to have a Chatterbox or Regulus in the stash, for example.

The stash is also accessible from the recalibration station, because in year 1 there was no library, and you needed to access attributes in the stash. The hardcore mode would have become a asinine game of inventory management if you had to live within the 100 item limitation (back in year 1), and still carry around all loot where you might need their attributes for recalibration.

So this is new hidden bug? I recently found out this way too. Any item in the stash that is not marked as favorite will appear in vendor system. When I bought them back after selling the wrong items, the items appeared in my hardcore inventory. I just transferred stuff from normal character to my hardcore character by accident. So the fastest way to have someone who has a world tier 5 character do the missions on story while you are on their Map. Or have some friends help you run your missions. You can duplicate your map and jump back and forth between each time they reach boss room. Other than that....yeah can take 14-20 hrs to finish getting to WT5. As far as builds go use builds that'll keep you alive even if it means your dps suffers. Shield/revive hive with Heartbreaker set or umbra are my go to right now.

People have mixed feelings about the revive hive all it is is a chance that'll save you but there's no guarantee on that.

hardcore is specifically a setting chosen at character creation that makes the character have one life. As soon as the character dies, you cannot continue. You also have no access to the stash mechanic, so you cant save your items.

You can get picked up by friendlies or your own reviver hive, but once you hit the ground, its over.

Yes thats not the game at all. Div has always had gearscore. Its a corner stone of the game. The whole idea of competing in the dark zone was to obtain better gs gear and weapon. I dont recommend that in hardcore mode. Ghost recon however has never had gearscore prior to BP. It detracted from the game so obviously ubi had to rollback and correct its mistake.

If you have a non-hardcore character (World Tier 5, in your current case), you can run it around the DZ to extract items that can then be acquired from the mailbox by the hardcore character. Probably the easiest way to level up your gear pre-WoNY (and maybe even after WoNY).

Similarly, your hardcore character can spend your global event stars and Countdown points, making it easy to safely acquire exotic, named item, and season caches.

I don’t know anything about hiding your backpack but there are like 3 patches you can achieve, 2 of them are quite easy, like beating the world on wt5, and having like gear above wt5 I think on HC and the last one is beating DH on your HC. You also get a soft baseball cap that says YOLO on it. And a sense of accomplishment that you grinded most of your levels with out dying. If you die you do get your watch back whenever you decide to redo your character. After you get over all 5 stages of loss at one time, 😂 🤣

Unbreakable would have probably saved you or at least given you time to get out of immediate danger. At level 30 you would have had access to the recalibration bench, not sure why you are running Calculated on a shield/revive hive build.

mostly its to play it safe, try to not put your self at risk if you can help it, make use of range to make it easier to survive, both that you are not easy to flank, and if you get pushed on you can fall back, and make use of skills like decoy, drone or turret to draw aggro alongside a reviver hive while lvling, and a shield to shield peek once at endgame

its not hard to get to endgame really, its mostly that you just have to not do anything stupid, which can be harder than it sounds, also only go for it if you have a pretty stable crashing situation, as that is a common death cause aswell

Keep the hell away from environmental destructables (fuel cans etc), they're often by cover you want to use but can easily finish you off if the ai happens to hit one next to you. Offense and defense are both very important solo. More offense means you kill enemies quick so they don't flank or surround you, but if they do you die quickly. More defense means you don't have dps to kill stuff, but desperate situations are more survivable because you have armor and shield.

Getting higher level friends to help level makes it go wayyyyy faster. Also playing in groups have inherent advantage of being able to be revived manually.

No but they have lowered the DC timer to 2 seconds, making hardcore crashes much less lethal. The DZ still has long logout timer so it is much more dangerous solo.

there are other things that complicate crashes, such as being down or having certain status effects on you while dcing will kill you. But personally ever since TU16 I have only had a single death from crashing, compared to the many I had early 2021 when I started HC.

It appears compensation caches are dropping in the inventory of the first character you load up in: you might want to avoid loading up hc characters until you've received it on your sc, if you don't have the shared materials blueprint you could potentially lose the hc and your cache with it, should they die.

With the heavily reduced logoff timer and the fact that the game seems to run relatively stable for most people these days, you're actually more likely to die from your own recklessness rather than the game's bugs or issues. If you haven't yet and wanna try HC, I'd say now's probably the best time to do so.

It can happen but isn't too common - if the game freezes & turns to windowed mode while you're in combat you definitely want to kill the process as quickly as possible (the two second logout doesn't seem to happen until the game process is actually ended).

Play slower and more methodical. Be on your toes around fire and bleed as well as special ammo crates. These can kill you even with a reviver hive equipped or stemming when waiting for a team mate to res you. Keep an eye on minimap for flanks. Buy shared materials and blueprints to use materials from main to craft and optimise gear. You can also claim caches and spend countdown currency on your hardcore character even if earned on a normal character in the first place.

Farm challenging 4 or 5 directives for XP instead of heroic. Never tab out while in a mission or open world, only in safe houses.

With the frequency of Prophet drops, a headhunter build is trivial to put together and will demolish challenging. You can include habsburg to bolster your shield while also getting headshot and sniper dmg.

level 30 characters are good for helping others level up quicker, but besides that I would always go to NY/40

Some people even keep a backup character at world tier 1, to give friends a map to run the invaded missions before level 30.

Hardcore raids are seldom pick up groups. For the fastest results you are likely gonna have to organize one yourself or find a clan. I reccomend doing several flawless runs on softcore with your team before attempting hardcore.

dang, I face a dilemma then. I have a lower-level character on Xbox but never got any crash-freeze there. I dunno if I should stop playing on PC and start playing on Xbox (I don't have time to play on both). Aside from having a much higher level on PC, I have some rare cosmetics there that I won't ever be able to get on Xbox, like 1st-week raid, new era cap, Tommy teddy bear trophy, etc. But I really would like to get the commendations for playing HC, but I crash too often on PC. For reference, you can run a WT5 softcore character, and any stats you extract to your recal table will be available to your HC (eg, extract max GS armour rolls for an easy armour boost). You can also farm the lvl 30 dz and get some high GS weapons/equipment, extract to your mailbox and claim on HC to make the world tier progression much easier.

Yeah, but it tracks lvl 30 and lvl 40 stats separately so you have to extract lvl 30 ones if you want to use them during leveling.

Unlock the faraday cage perk for technician, you can use it to protect yourself from his shock. Safest skill to proc it with is remote pulse (since if he hacks that it won't damage you). Use in conjunction with a good shotgun or two filled with the shock ammo from the marauder area and you can stunlock & kill him as soon as he jumps down.

Usually the mission is easy, but if you like to play safe, go back downstairs. Provides good cover and less angles for him to target you. And if you have the pestilence, works like a charm. But I only played on PC so it might be different.

At the moment, with current state of the game playing hardcore is nothing more then trying not to crash. During the last two days that was literally impossible. Tried to play for several hours, on normal because hardcore is just pointless. But I had to restart the game about 30 times every 5-10 minutes. It once more has become a crashing simulator and I don't think they are capable of making sure servers are stable to run this game.

I have been playing HC since it came out, the first 4 deaths were trying to get to WTs. Life has been a lot better with expertise levels, a level 22 drone and turret makes coming back easier

Comparatively I have died a lot less than most, a few were raid deaths and fighting Hunters so I am not ashamed

How many armor cores are preferred for hardcore ?

It probably makes more sense to invest in regeneration of armor and keep the red or yellow ones for max damage.

And if you start new character and have recalibration tabel filled use that, costs a lot at start but is worth it. Makes you invincible at lower levels, quite funny when you regenerate faster than being damaged by an NPC.

3 blue cores and shield is what I run. gives a good amount of survivability. Can do 4 if running memento or picaros.

If you really want 6 blue cores, run with chamelon, heartbreakers, or strikers.

you can solo HC but yes, it's perma death, and every bit of gear/items on that character goes too.

also your SHD level on HC is saved. so if you make it to say SHD 250 and died, the next time you try and reach watch level (clarification: you still need to do lvl1 to 40 again) you're instantly SHD 250.

i only run turret and drone (both attack).. which then leaves you open to recal your gear to skill specific (like i use 2 BA's, 1 Hanna-u, and 3 Empress and rocket launcher as my gear set, gives me good defense AND skill tier 6, coupled with in Sync on your weapons and combined arms on the backpack..)
or you can use the Rigger set, which is nice for those quick skill resets..
but i never use the rez bawl.. for the very reason, it has failed me in the past..

When creating a new Hardcore agent, you start your journey from the beginning, and success will mean placing your own life above any other consideration. Push your limits to see how far you can progress but be careful! Upon death, there is no option to respawn, and all progress made will be lost.

Enjoy HC on PC? At the moment there is no such thing. Game crashes every 3-5 minutes, provided go actually get through the boot sequence without delta errors. Used to be somewhat playable few weeks back, but not anymore, as well as normal mode.

You can at least play it till level 2, so you get the YOLO hat. Afterwards it depends if you will be playing solo. If so, how careful can you play (e.g. were you able to easily get those “tactical merit” commendations for missions, i.e. not losing all of your armor, and also consider you will be playing it with randomly dropped gear till level 30)? Otherwise anybody can get through level 40 if somebody can carry you.

The DLC can be less dangerous solo (ignore fore a moment crashes, disconnects, etc.). The map matches your level, so you can just do open world activities till level 40. Then, unless you start with hardcore, your crafting and recalibration library should give you a good enough build for the final mission (e.g. Armor-Crit-Foundry plus something Unbreakable), where you can retreat, worst case log out and ask for a carry.

I mean you can level up, and play the 4 regular missions, then Liberty Island, while already level 40.

I saved both hostages, I have already recruited Otis, and even completed a side-mission in the same area so the bounty would have a location to spawn (although I know normally they just spawn in a different region if necessary)

it's a fun personal challenge. the game itself doesn't reward you much at all, a few commendations and patches, and a single hat vanity at lvl2. crashes on PC can hinder your enjoyment of the game mode but varies per player. shrug that's up to you but you'll only be doing it for yourself really.

Reviver is sure as hell is worth it solo. It won't save you from statuses or bad positioning, other than that I have found it quite reliable.

Yeah early game leveling all you need is armor and skill tiers. Mostly armor if you can find them.

I personally go with 4 armor pieces and 2 skill cores if possible. Otherwise all armor or all skill tiers as weapon damage % early game is absolutely NOT worth it at all.

Otherwise focus on brands. Early game Hana-U and Providence are great.

Fenris is also a great choic if you run assault rifles

That line in the sand has been crossed long ago. From hardcores inception, youve been able to share crafting materials, blueprints, and the mailbox. So you could already farm the DZ on a softcore character to get items. Because of crafting materials being shared you can farm for a ton of optimization materials on softcore and upgrade to perfect rolls on hardcore.

Philosophically I agree that the way to improve your gear on hardcore should be by playing hardcore, not a safe alt character. But in reality its just not been that way.

Even countdown/raids accidentally being crossplay with softcore could be argued as being as not being truly hardcore ethical

That particular hunter uses the same stunlock on you that Keener does (shocks you in place for several seconds for story reasons) but Faraday (technician perk, have to be near a deployed skill) protects from that as well as their emp. Remote pulse is a safe choice because even if they hack it, it can't damage you.

It is what it is, I like it. But I do other things on my HC too not just descent. I don’t consider it a cheese because it’s part of the game. If they didn’t want us to play on it on our HC than restrict it like conflict.

Plus the collectible coms are fun to listen to. I get it that you can do it on classic core but it’s fun to get all the stuff on your HC

I am HC player from the beginning and have grinded my 9000 the old fashioned way don’t see a reason why we should be restricted from this part of the game

I am pure HC player I do almost everything on HC. CD is the best way to farm for good gear on HC my clan is mostly HC and we play with other clans that are HC so we usually group up and go in there together. Not really showing off. Yes 9k is the last time you get an upgrade next to your name. There’s not really any unwritten rules about the DZ. It’s a respect thing mostly, most HC players know how long it takes to grind to get their watches and than to grind to get gear. But there’s always a few who like to watch the world burn. Kinda not nice but it is the DZ. Just go in there with like 6 to 8 or just take it over with 12. If a random HC guy thinks he can take on 6 or 8 people than good on him or her.

Met a few folks who main goal was to try to get manhunt on HC. Which is near impossible cause you have to go in there and kill 5 people. Not many folks going to stick around in the DZ when they see a rogue agent for one and there’s just not enough folks on HC willing to go in there in the first place.

Yesterday's HC discovery: The hunter in the Agent Edwards mission can actually be killed if you use the faraday field to protect from the shock and have a high enough damage output to kill him before he runs away. He didn't drop anything interesting though, of course.

Same build logic applies, just run the same kind of pieces and go with memento or a couple blue cores. Imo a common mistake is building completely for survivability and then you've just made yourself into a punching bag.

You'll be fine in Descent as that one is a "simulation", so your actual toon isn't affected by death. In Summit, though, you'll die properly

(there's a bug where it sometimes counts that 15 levels from your SC shd level, so as long as your HC one is lower you can keep on getting the double xp)

The only way to avoid the bug is to literally avoid playing... and it's a bug that's been around for ages, since the start of double exp seasons as far as I'm aware

Literally the only way to avoid "abusing" the exp bug is to avoid playing whatever character has a lower shd, your normal or HC. You literally can't avoid it. I can't imagine anyone being banned for that

You will not get banned for it. If an exploit can be done unintentionally, you will not be banned. The precident for this is the General Anderson exploit, which gave 0 bans, vs the Faye Lau exploit which gave out many bans.

And in the case of the Lau ban, it was well warned and even gave out a temp ban before a permanent one.

There is a workaround, you can just farm the 15 levels out on your SC and then you're free to play HC without any extra xp. I'd be surprised if they banned anyone for it though, HC xp farming is a bit slower regardless due to the added risk, so actual xp gain rate even with the double xp probably isn't going to be high enough to raise flags at massive

You'll still get 2x exp if your HC has a lower shd even after your main has gotten the 15 levels

HC is a beta so anything that happens there 99.9% of the time is ignored, they won’t pull it out of beta because if you lose your character during a DC or game crash they just say oh it’s in Beta

Projects are unlocked as you complete missions during the campaign so I'm not sure how you unlock them in WT1. And what the benefit would be

many projects in dc get auto completed when you board the chopper to NY. including painful ones like the dodge city holster one.

You must aquire the project before you board the chopper. Same goes for the safehouse projects, you must pick them up for them to be auto completed.

The plan was to rush to world t1 and finish the bounty projects or leftover in world t1, i cant board the chopper till T5 lv40 anyway.

Another question, worth running T1 world in Story mode till good loot, then switch over to normal or higher? any big differences apart from missions that drop % stast higer based on difficulty

You stay at level 30 from WT1 up to WT5, you'll only start gaining levels again after heading to NY. There's no reason to stay in WT1, just push on through. Item power is limited by the world tier (which acts like a difficulty setting)

Only stay in wt1 if you get wt5 items from some other source (friends carrying, mailbox from alt doing DZ). With wt5 guns, you deal much more damage than intended, so I usually run all invaded 6 missions back to back. Then I run all 4 inv strongholds -> minor gear fixing -> weekly project -> head to NY.

it has happened to HC players I know. As has dying to the explosive charge at the start of the mission, and dying to supply drop crates

You can actually die earlier there than that. The C4 that the NPC's plant to destroy the fence can get you too.
