Yup. As long as you have 5 keys, you can open. Hypothetically you could open 100 times in a week. That would just be a fricking ton of raiding.

to some extent. as some ppl said couple messages ago - it'll negate Fieser flamethrower dmg (assuming you reached immunity) and will prevent you from catching fire. However - you'll still gonna take dmg from the furnace itself (heat dmg)

well we used this build way back when the raid came out. you had a nice idea unfortunately it's not that good because:
a) not having FI in the team is 25% dmg decrease
b) everything the build you just described can do - a regular FI healer build can do as well so...
with that said - if you don't have a FI chest, sure go for it. otherwise just go FI

not really. as i said - it'll only prevent you from catching fire pretty much. that's it. You just need to manage your heals carefully and you're good

I heal legendaries with no problems. I have 4pc FI, alps backpack with safeguard, btsu gloves. Skill duration mods in gear , heal/duration/range on hive(god rolled). Pretty high heal/duration mods on chem launcher.

Was debating flipping skill duration gear mods into incoming repair mods. Or i shouldnt worry.

Control room is one of the only uses for incoming repair mods. If you put 3 of those on your standard FI build and run an armor repair drone you will be fine the entire time. It should last the entire fight, but if codes take too long and it breaks you can just drop the hive and use that until the drone is back.

the project require you to acquire 5 ingots (parts basically). each part is a guaranteed drop from each boss, while the 5th is a guaranteed from the crate. the parts from the bosses drops only if it's your first time killing said boss this week. the crate part is guaranteed no matter what @tender bane

Its base dmg is pretty high, the talent allows you to insta clear whole waves of spawn instantaneously specially when paired with a gunslinger holster and a chainkiller/sacrifice, enables you to run around with a bulwark shield equipped, and it is extremely satisfying to play with. The downside is that it requires fairly consistent aim to really shine so it’s a little less forgiving to use than that of say an AR.

I saw someone said if you crafted regulus it has very little chance to drop from IH bosses. How true is that?

It's true. Very low though. Had a clan mate get one from Grey yesterday like that.

If you've already got a Regulus there's an easy way to get another, and another and so on. Go to the char you've got the Regulus on, move it from char to stash, switch to another char and go to stash and pick up the Regulus you just put there from the first char. Then go back to the first char, that now has no access to a Regulus and on the first raid after reset you'll get all the "parts" again from bosses and cache. Craft a 586 Magnum replica and use that to craft another Regulus, Rinse and repeat.

And apparently, although I'm not 100% sure about this, my clan mate who had it drop from Grey said he could "share" it with the group members, So I guess IF you're really lucky you could get the Regulus that way too.

Never played discovery so I’m not sure if there are any additional mechanics or not but for sure the mechanics are more complex. For example the cogs aren’t always 3&3, the bullet takes more rockets to destroy, time on pressure is less ect

You can't 'over turn' the cogs (cant turn them 4 times for example, in other words, you can't get them wrong no matter what)
No need to hold the diagnostic button once you pressed it once and the little light got activated
Boss won't roam outside until turrets phase
One rocket per turret
More time after the key dropped
Only 4 valves needs to be shot (instead of 8)
Valves can only be turned 'up'

From my experience you can go down as soon as first chunga and purple are killed. If power is lost that changes but don't know when they stop going for the power box

I have diff variations of the boss 2 haz build depending on what I'm trying to do with the build but the one I use most often in lfg is: 3x 5.11, 2x ceska, and gunslinger holster. Talents are Intimidate+Adrenaline Rush. Skills are revive hive+repair drone. Rav stack left shoulder for bonus armor. Can cancel wipe, break all 3 weakpoints by yourself, stay alive for as long as you have ammo for your Ravenous.

You can optimize your dmg output (and survivability) if you'll change it slightly. 1 yahhl, 1 belstone, dodge city, WH or 2nd yahhl, contractor's and foxes. 90% hzd from the gear and you'll have to use 1 fire resist mod

Its nice to break in LFG groups so you can get the max number of people downstairs. If you don't break glass your losing at least one dps person upstairs the whole time. Not every group needs that, but I like soloing upstairs then flexing wherever is needed as soon as possible

I run Hunters Fury 2 blue intimidate and adrenline run on boss 2 downstairs now. Maybe it takes 1-2 minute longer, but the survivability and short range dps is really good in lfgs

basic rule though, is don't shoot the boss because:
A) the boss heals to full at some point so it is a waist of time
B) when the boss gets to x amount of armour it triggers a wipe mechanic
C) someone wants the aggro of the boss, to keep the boss out of the way

people only shout to get the message across quickly and clearly, they mean well don't take any offence

Jokes aside it's an 8 agent activity involve solving some puzzles to progress. Each raid consists of 4 bosses, all of them have some sort of puzzle (mechanics) attached to them. You have to solve that said puzzle in order to kill said boss and progress

Dodge city holster, can be done woth normal crit build on or spec'd into headshot damage make sure you are in PGC. Make sure your healer is running future with the chest and if possible wear a punch drunk. Make sure when you take the pistol shot the ads are not immune,

Also make sure someone foams them after the over charge. There's a little white shield symbol over their heads when they first come out which tells you they are immune. Foam them before that goes away, then shoot them as soon as it goes away.

The only problem with level 30 is the player count is low, much lower than dlc

A level 30 can join a level 40 raid. You will get scaled up somewhat to lvl 38 equivalent I've been told. I think your armor doesn't so your brittle af. To compensate maybe use unbreakable. Otherwise for a DPS build, its basically the same... all red, 3 providence, vigilance backpack, with lots of chc and chd.

You can open the box after 5 times (Razorback drops 1 key every time you defeat it and you need 5 keys to open the box), but it's not guaranteed that you'll get the EB.

On a fresh run of DH, you can pick up 4 keys, then Razorback will drop the fifth. As long as you have at least 5 keys, you can open the box.

If you have multiple characters, each one can pick up the 4 keys after the reset. Which is today.

Just keep an eye on the LFG discord and the raid voice channels and keep an eye out for an IH group that has a spot open. Just jump in the voice chat, you don't need to ask in the LFG discord chat. Once your in just let them know your new and that you will need some guidance. Vast majority of groups will be willing to help out, but if you get push back then you don't want to be trying to learn from players like that anyways. Just try to be prepared with a red build that has +50% crit chance and +150% crit damage.

yeah all the time... and then you get people that "help you through a raid" only to then scream at you because youre doing it wrong, instead of actually explaingin calmly how to get it done correctly, and then, after wioping 4 times say "thats it, im done helping new people" and leave.

ive done ih a few times, i know how the bosses work, but when youre putting me on a role ive never done before, i cant do it right if youre constantly on my ass shouting to pick up the damn rocket, while i get one shot becuase you arent helpoing me with 23 shots worth of dps

also, with one group, i had to shoot mortars in the first phase, then not in the second phase, and in another, i had to never shoot mortars, and the third made me shoot mortars the first phase and thre second pahse

and stuff like this is really confusing for new people

so on my last run i was key tank and it worked out perfectly fine, because it was relaxing, no problems, and i actually felt like i was doing something

you point out several problems here:

1. some ppl don't explain the roles clearly
2. even when they do, they don't give you the time to adapt to it and perform your role

if i may, i'll intend to answer those.

1. i can't say from my personal exp. but yeah, different ppl have different teaching skills/explain stuff in a different way. There's no way around it unfortunately it's an acquired skill. the more you do it, the better you'll get at teaching
2. i agree. ppl who loose their temper over a game and express it in such manner - that's stupid (and that's an understatement). i've been in raids where ppl rage quit and i've been in raids where ppl politely said they just have another thing to do and kindly left. The latter is preferable. I would add tho, not every group can finish a raid (i know it took me couple tries back in year 1, and couple tries when IH came out)
3. i agree. the thing is every group will execute the strat their leader thinks is "easier"/faster. it is what it is. majority of ppl don't want to spend hours on a single raid.

with all that being said, as a new raider one can mitigate most of those with one thing - simply actively seek out multiple sources explaining the mechanics of a said raid, and the roles for each player. it could be a written guide, a YT vid or any other source, but you can't expect go in blind and magically have everything under control. ppl have to put in some work before hand (and don't get me wrong, i'm not accusing anyone here)
as for the ppl who - how should i say it - 'takes it way too seriously' my advice is to simple stay away

As far as explaining what to do with rockets theres two things you do with them for the general boss 4 strategy. If there is a red bullet that takes priority, so shoot it first until it's destroyed in all phases. Motars only need to be shot in the first phase, and after the bullet is dead. When your going to the middle bring rockets to the center, it helps destroy the bullet quicker for the next phases. For the final phase once the bullet is dead just leave them on the ground. If there are two rockets on the ground the rocket ads will stop spawning so you can just help kill ads/chungas at that point.

For those making a dps build, Cassie has a Foxes Prayer with 14% weapon damage and 8% damage out of cover, so you can reroll the 3rd attribute to whatever you want.

As a note, for raids, the recommended [non-sniper] DPS build is 50+ CHC and 150+ CHD, all red cores. If its your first time raiding, less is ok, but once you have done the raid a couple of times and you are no where close to this, please work on your build.

You'll get through it, but it's not ideal. Hunters is limited by it's range mechanic, and your not going to be killing ads in a single clip with the vector which is quite important.

Those numbers aren’t really a minimum. It’s just suggested to have stats as close to that as possible to have a more comfortable first-time raid experience for newer raiders. I’d personally say that a “minimum” stats suggestions would look different than that and would also depend on the type of dps build that the person is using.

not really (except for specific spots/strats) for couple reasons:

1. Some bosses are immune to dmg in certain phases while some of your skills are 'ignorant' to that fact (Boomer/Williams)
2. Some bosses can't be targeted by skills (Razorback)
3. The low burst dmg is bad. really bad. waiting for your skill/s to kill 1 or 2 adds will hurt the team in general (unless ofc, you spawn camp the adds)

Where are you planning on using it? For fieser you can easily hit max burn resist with demo spec and run pretty much any tank build you want with a few hazard rolls and burn resist mods. For boss 3 haz pro you dont need to go full haz pro, you just want to hit the caps on shock and disrupt, so you can go a more hybrid dps/tank with 2p ceska and 1p yaahl. If you are going full haz pro and using eclipse make sure your using the 3p since thats where the hazard is.

With the right skill build and knowledge of the raid YES. People think skill builds have low burst dps but this is wrong with the right skills.
Sure some bosses you can't help with boss dps but there are other uses in these phases.
IH is more suitable to skill builds than DH, in fact it can be done with every player on a skill build.
If you want to see the skill build raid builds I can point you to the right people/ I have some of them. However be warned some people prefer that you have some rep in raids before running skill builds, but don't let this deture you. All you need are the right skills and build (mostly explosive) to kill adds quickly and raid knowledge to get the most out of your skills. It helps to be practised at head-shotting with the sniper turret.

You don't even need shock and disrupt, with the right timing and the odd armour kit or armour core boss 3 is easy enough on a normal DPS build. Just watch for the snipers, but then again you can just kill them your self with the m1a.

Has anyone tried healing mine+healing drone for control room on second boss in IH?. We are relatively new group to IH so it takes us some time to get things done(2hr for whole run). So i run into problem where my healing drone about to expire, i throw hive down but hive is depleted before drone gets recharged. Overcharge helps but sometimes i miss it, or used earlier. So i was wondering if healing mine+drone would work better? Time it so they dont expire at same time.

The hive should last plenty long enough for your drone to come back if your just using one at a time. It might be better for you to switch the hive for the heal seeker, but your team missing the overcharge and revive reset probably isn't worth it for a new team. If you need some more heals try putting on incoming repair mods. They are multiplicative with repair skills and it should let you just run the drone and keep your hive at full stacks for when you need it.

there are many ways for it to be done, and its what really works for the person and their skill level I guess. but control room really doesn't need to run opportunistic if anything we always ran it on the furness guy...when we used to do furness., but in all honesty should be able to melt boss without it just having it should be nice, not a necessity. 🙂

Found a very strong correlation to suggest coyotes is super sketchy. with 55chc we should have a like 18% chance to no crit but we no crit waaaaaaay more often thaan that with coyotes.

If there’s no timer on the top left of your screen as soon as you finish letters, there’s a 99% chance you guys didn’t properly finish doing letters (missed 1 or 2 or something) and the boss dps phase was done within the time remaining just before the pressure got too high so there wasn’t any time left for you guys to get the key in upstairs to reset consoles. Though even if you guys had the time to do so, you wouldn’t be able to insert the key in upstairs cause you can’t until letters are completed.

there's no guaranteed way, it's a 10% chance each time you open the box at the end and I think 1% to drop from any boss? 1st run in a week gets you 5 keys, but subsequent runs only 1 key from final boss, so need to run the raid 5 more times to open another box

no. if you completed the project to donate all the various gear pieces you need to clear the raid one more time. each boss gonna drop you one component, and the chest at the end will drop you the last one. however the bosses will drop components on the first clear of the week only so take that into consideration

DH is a pretty easy one

IH is all based about mechanics

Typically, you queue into Discovery difficulty and someone will start an encounter with only 4-6 players in the group, then the group will fill during the encounter. Either the new people will leave because they are tired of waiting or other members will leave as soon as a wipe occurs. This process repeats until people just wait until the group fills. Once you have a full group, both raids go pretty smooth.

I'm not sure about the utility of Discovery to learn the mechanics, which has been significantly modified. Usually finding a good normal difficulty group is vastly more preferable.

Just hop on to your platforms LFG of choice (#lfg-raid-ps4 in your case) and let them know you're new.
Long as your build is alright, you'll do fine if you listen to the Raid Leader.

@gusty willow a gunslinger charge + D50/Demolitionist specific Revolver on a 5 Blue tank build can break the wipe usually with single shot, so I think you can test it on Shooting range to see roughly how much damage it is.

@manic phoenix if you trade out that nemesis for an SVD then it's very viable. Your burst damage with that sniper is insane. Give it a shot on Buddy/Lucy. If your hitting headshots with focus/Sawyer kneepads on Lucy then you will be able to out DPS anyone using a Scorpio. That's literally the build I use when raiding with my clan. We go with a 6 (buddy) 2 (Lucy) and it's over in seconds.

It's also very good on the other three bosses. Little harder for the fourth than running a Scorpio like most people do.

Dark Hours is mostly a DPS check so to speak, while Iron Horse is a bit more complex but if it's your first few raids you should be on ad clearing and such which again works well with a DPS build like it was described earlier

So other day i was running DH. And i decided to swap my kneepads for sawyer kneepads. Mostly cuz i get knoked out of cover by explosion into lucys 360 attack. And to my surprise kneepads didnt negate explosion effect and i srill got knoked out from cover.. is that normal?

Hello! so i just came back to the game and completed the new DLC (i havent played for maybe 2 years now) , any advice how to get into raiding? Are there groups who teach new players (or in my case those who had a very long break) on how to do raids?

get yourself a red build with +50% CHC and +150% CHD. keep an eye out in the lfg channel for someone saying LF(x) (looking for x number of players) RV(x) (raid voice channel x) DH (dark hours)/IH (iron horse). When you see a group with open spots just jump in and ask who you need to add, then add them on uplay. make sure your name in the discord channel matches uplay. Let people know your new so they can explain what you need to do and what your role is for each boss.

Here is where having multiple characters can be beneficial as players can farm the chest and backpack pieces for each, and donate them to the projects which are account-wide."
