We go up top when the boss is on the turrets. You are able to shoot down to deal with the npc's. Just make sure your tank doesn't get shredded from all sides

its never prevented it, they can still turn the power off. Usulaly when the door is closed, they aggro onto someone else. also if it spawned before the doors closed, it will still have the turn power off flag

So here's some questions on the 4th boss:

Is it worth it to kill the initial NPCs then the Chunga from inside the spawn room first before stepping into the final encounter space? 1 group claimed that the timer for the chain gun doesn't start until either the Chunga dies OR players step into the final encounter space.
Is it better to kill the last mortar using guns and saving 2 RPGs for immediate use after the bombardment phase?
When the green laser turrets spin up, does shooting them actually disable them?

if you want to save some time for the next phase or your group doesn't kill the rpg guys/not shooting the rpg fast enough then yes

yes you can kill the red guys and chunga before anyone leaves the room, it will prevent the timer for the gun to count so you can get the first motar up right way

Why are you asking btw? if it's from a speedrun perspective then you want to get inside the room, kill the heavy first with focus fire and do the turret right away.
If it's not for a speedrun then why do you care? i mean if you missed some phases on the turret it's not a big deal, just make sure you're using cover properly

Honestly, it's a matter of efficiency (which is kinda speedrun ish) because it seems that a lot of players grind that 4th boss repeatedly because of the low drop rates of chest/backpack/Ravenous.

And when you're doing the last boss for the 6th time, you start to wonder where you could save a few minutes here and there. Also anything that increases success seems to be worth discussing.

The fastest way is probably kill chungus and then run out. On the first fase don't shoot last morter, just use RPGs. After the fases there after you can save the RPGs, becasue you only have to kill the bullet

its only faster if you wern't able to get the first turret shooting before. If you were able to kill the heavy and still get the first turret shooting off, then its slower to stay in the hanger since the turret timer doesnt start till someone runs in

since you're new to it. aim for this as the minimum (for a decent dps build)

coyotes

@mellow lark really? I thought purples stop trying to disconnect the power after the window has shattered (well new purples that spawn after the window has shattered and doors close)... Otherwise this would mean you need to always keep at least 1 player upstairs patrolling to make sure no purples flip the switch for the entire encounter until you get to the DPS phase Well shoot I guess we need to keep a player up there with lullaby shottie then

Well it was either an unintended mechanic but if you let the purple ad melee the power switch and then kill him before he broke it everytime he spawned again he'd never try to brake it again.
He would do the same if he broke it and power turned off where every subsequent spawn he'd ignore it.
So I guess Massive have stealth fixed it.

We are exp weird issues with water too. We have 15,15,15 and 15,25. We hit only those 3 and it goes to 99. Then sometimes our heal hives won’t heal. This is only on 2nd boss

@limpid obsidian for the healing hive it seems to be an animation bug. Don't throw more than 1 on the ground at once in the room. Also when you throw it make sure its far enough away that the stim animation has to jump from the hive to whoever it is healing. We found that worked well. When you stand too close at times it made the noise but the animation wouldn't go so it wouldn't heal.

I looked at the numbers and the healing on the drone and the seeker are the same. With survivor, you also get that +15% healing mod for the seeker

but I never tried it in game so I wouldn't know 100%. Tried soloing control room today and wiped because the dumb drone failed on me

Seekers only do burst heals like chem while drone heals you constantly, just gotta watch the drone and ensure it's following you and if it doesn't then recall it to you.

Surely if they have altered the second boss ads constantly going for the power switch, then it should either put it back to where it was or rendor all time scoreboards as void. You can easily lose a minute or two as a result of dealing with that alone, therefore there is an unfair comparisons between previous clear times and any new ones posted.

Highly doubt the npc behavior change on control room is affecting most if not all speedrun groups. You will always want to ensure Fieser aggro is not drawn to control room until the tank's broken, so whomever on top will have an easier time clearing the adds, doing codes & opening doors.

@normal mirage Haven't tried this personally, but did you move the Regulus to a second character before you did that? I know that allows you to redo the Liberty and Chatterbox quests for parts

Everything is the same up to Buddy & Lucy, Buddy's seeker mines explode with poison gas and Lucy snipes you with poisonous bullets, on Razor they have moved and changed some obstacles and the ads seem to be quicker and more aggressive, but also seem easier to take down.

Try to ensure everyone sets his world difficulty to normal without directives before you set up the raid.
We see this in IH, sometimes the global diff makes IH go nuts too, shield guys spawning constantly without the slightest delay, Gray not taking any damage from 7 glass cannon players with overcharged pulses and such. So might be the same and maybe buddy's gas gets scaled because of global world diff. @verbal mist

World difficulty has no bearing on it. At least for grey, if ANY shield guys are up, they provide a damage reduction aura to Gray so he takes less damage and gets stronger the more shield guys alive. If your trying to "JUST" burst gray down, your doing it wrong. The Shield Adds must be killed as well or you will do no damage to him. I dont have the exact values but i believe each shield npc alive cuts grays damage taken by half. You want 1 or 2 Negotiator builds to help keep them controlled.

I literally just use my normal 3 pc Providence, coyotes, 1 pc Grupo, and 1pc Fox Prayer and swap out the Sacrifice for Providence with Unbreakable on it just in case.

@obtuse osprey Id just recommend that 2 of you separately join several different last boss raid farms to see the sequence of steps that they do and what builds they use, then you can replicate it with your team. It still is a DPS check, despite what every one says, so your 5 dps need to be able to have high dps, and especially so if you have only 4 dps.

And they tweaked use and 1st run and we downed it in about 30 minutes, we’ve only 5 regulars and pick up 3 randoms off lfg last night and done complete run in a single night, now where trying to get time down! But don’t give up this is end game stuff

Yep. Using DPS on the last 1 or 2 turrets or hoarding rockets at all throws the games timing off and causes rocket guys to stop at times. I always tell the teams just use the rockets for their intended purpose when they drop.

So are there any other ways of finding a raid sherpa, outside of Division Discord, Division 2 LFG or lucking out and finding and joining a clan that raids? It wasnt hard to find a group to learn raids with in Destiny 2, but after a week with no luck I am somewhat discouraged.

The problem is, DH lost popularity so all the exp/sherpa players moved on.
IH is way harder and moat importantly you can't carry anyone through (i.e. everybody have to do thier part) so moat ppl just want to make it through without wipeing. My guess is - give it sometime, sherpa groups will pop up again (i realize this isn't answer your question, sorry...)

Boss 1 , 2 , 4 I truly think a person can just be assigned to kill ads . Boss 3 there’s a mechanic that you really need to understand . Have 32 clears and maybe half went smooth with a group ive been running with for over a year . Carry’s are hard sometimes because of the player . We’ve noticed some players want to argue with you instead of listening or the player doesn’t have a certain loadout . Joining a clan and getting to know people in my opinion is the best way to raid . And you meet some really cool people , just like I met everyone here . I study some of the builds in build help , read up on the raid discussion channel etc.. some will say the raid is easy which makes it harder for a new raider because it’s not . Join a clan , get to know players , synergies help a lot

I agree with the advice to join a clan. I am far more willing to teach my clanmates about the raid mechanics because I am likely to reap the rewards of that not only in the current run, but also in future runs. There's A LOT of mechanics to explain for boss 3 of IH and after having explained it a couple times, honestly, it gets old explaining that stuff to randoms and still seeing them not hitting panels or valves when they're supposed to.
There are absolutely people who have the patience to keep teaching new people, and they're saints. I'm just not one of them

I'm looking for an iron horse raid group for over a week now. I 'm inexperienced in IH, because i haven't had the time yet.
The only thing i see however is farming last boss or experienced only.
Its not that i want a carry , i want to learn , but it quite frankly seems impossible to get to that point.
When first doing dark hours there were a lot of people making groups and helping others, Now it seems impossible to simply get IH done.

Any tips ?

You're not looking hard enough? There are plenty of groups in LFG saying that they are fresh IH and newbies to IH.

Also, in terms of learning IH, there's been at least 1 guide a redditor made about it. While it doesn't cover all the additional strategies, it does give you an idea of what needs to happen (especially for boss 2 and 3).

I see fresh raid LFM's going on every day, Its most prevelant on Tuesdays when the reset happens. Also I'll echo the above, if your new/inexperienced, at least read/watch each fight before joining a group. The fights arn't newbie friendly.

Usually by Sun/Mon, fresh groups are more rare most people have run the fresh run and gotten the keys already and theres little point in killing the first 3 bosses beyond the first kill

How about this... Create your own group and bring in other people who haven't done it before either. Currently looking at lfg for PC, there have been at least 2 people LFG IH who are new (MaDucer and SnopTropolis).

Just be upfront about it when you post in LFG... Some players will obviously skip because they want smooth runs where everyone is experienced but there are plenty of people who don't mind the shepherding role of guiding some newbies through the raid.

Also be sure to have some viable builds before going into raid... That has been interesting seeing some of the folks builds...

I echo being honest about your skills but more importantly what you've done to prepare. I occassionally lead raids with a couple of newbies. But understand running a fresh group is a minimum 4-5hrs of commitment for a lead with a high chance of not clearing it.

So ensure the lead knows what builds you have. Did you create a healer? A tank? A proper DPS? Did you confirm youve watched several full videos on completions of the raid you want? If its DH did you run discovery?

#

All of these things matter to a lead and will get you picked over the "LFG IH, never done it" guy who looks like he needs a carry and is forcing the lead to ask you questions now. Just a tip but GL

That's inaccurate. They always spawn upstairs. But if the ppl downstairs didn't do their part and left some adds alive, these adds will climb up the stairs to shut the power off as well

Also on boss 2, when do people do the water phase? 1 group does it immediately after the crucible has dumped on the tank, but last night groups seem to want to wait for the boss to do his (if you are in the room wipe) then do the water.

Trouble is that waiting that long usually also spawns another set of adds that we have to take care of.

It's better to just keep two people on stair duty. Once the crucible it's poured, and you know you have some time before the next cannon fire, you can have the guys downstairs hit the appropriate water valves. Since we preplan what water is needed to be hit, we can usually hit the valves and fire the water within 5 to 10 seconds.

So the Iron Horse bug is going to be quite the conundrum for Massive.

Are they going to put out an emergency hotfix because it has to do with their precious raid, or will this bug exist for weeks and weeks like the Keener Drone because it doesn't make players' lives easier?

I mean it only happened once last night (prior to maintenance) and a quick reset "fixed" it. Is it happening more frequently now post maintenance?
Also (with all good bug tracing), what are the steps that's causing it? For the mortars in the initial phase, are people using only 1 rocket on the last mortar (then using gun DPS for the rest)? Are people waiting for the 2nd rocket guy to respawn BEFORE or AFTER knocking out the last mortar? How fast are players using the rockets after the each bombardment phase? Are there any players doing gun DPS on the Earth Shaker shell at all?

Well I recall anecdotally that if you [gun] DPS the mortars then sometimes the rocket guys won't spawn. So what some groups do is to make sure there are always two rockets on the ground before transitioning to the bombardment phase.

That is to use 1 rocket on the 4th mortar but don't DPS it down until another rocket guy shows up. Kill the rocket guy to have the 2nd rocket ready, then kill the 4th mortar. (This also has the advantage that the rocket guy doesn't spawn just after the bombardment and shoots a rocket into the bombardment safe space)

Also another thing to check is to see if the issue is caused by latency. I noticed some really weird lag behavior when I'm playing on EU or AU servers (from the US). That might also be something I'd recommend the lfg channel start using. Add in where the host is on so that folks know ahead of time.

Re: Codes for Boss 2 - I recall someone saying that the code lookup can be simplified to a letter/number: F/P/C/R/M/45. This way the control room person can quickly ID the picture to get the rest of the team to find the right box.

For those who don't know, this means instead of saying: <space> F # <space> 0 <space> or even F # 0 (removing the spaces), you can just say "F" and the control room person can look at the top left picture and say that image.

i think i found the reason 4 the "iron horse doesnt load the final bullet" bug. if u run neg del set u gonna deal dmg somehow to the iron horse and it wont be at 100% health before the final autocannon will hit it. just tried it without neg del and all went fine

@fresh eagle for the boss is always DPS build with even bullet king doable, sustained DPS, the rest of the time depends on your position, iron horse is not pure DPS, except the first boss which DPS helps to clear it under 2 minutes (all focus boss, throw some decoys and torrets)

I have FI mask, Holster, knees, and chest piece all rolled with full Hazzard protect, btsu gloves and an Alps pack. Hive refill is 1sec and hive hits for around 290k a pop. Drone heals is around 88k/sec and 80%burn resist and 60% all hazards.

Ah, we have the dps on A B and C supply thier own heals, with a hazard dps.and heals in the control room, I'm trying to free up one of those positions for insurance on the ground floor and power boxes. We clear the boss now without much issues save the power getting cut after the crucible stage. They changed that in 10.1 and seems like more adds as well.

My party consists of 1 healer in the control room, 2 dps on 2f taking care of power boxes, 3 dps on 1f for each of a, b and c, 1 FI healer on 1f and 1 tank on 1f to use water cannon. We break glasses

That's close to how we started it, works well except for we have two in CR, and the dps on b/c side runs up to help with heavy, same on a/b side and one running hallway between boxes. Every now and then one gets through, but sweet dreams make quick work. I'm trying to push the group into more along the lines of what your talking about though, as that seems more viable than what we are doing now.
