With the recent addition of them to the story, it just gets more confusing. Survival confused matters somewhat, but can be explained, but are the Hunts in div2 canon? Coney Island definitely is, but what is and what isn't?

They're gonna need to clear this up at some point I'm sure.

What I meant by Wave Zero was the pointing to the classified nature of the Hunter Faction. Maybe a Plan B created by SHD to locate and destroy Rogue Agents. Maybe SHD Recruiters were concerned with the amount of rubber stamping for Division Agents that were deemed unstable.

That’s where Black Tusk comes to mind, they were the faction that disabled the SHD for the first time. My guess is they collect the watches to show the Agent is no longer a viable option aka deactivated. Which is why the Hunter went after the rogue Agent on Coney Island during the BTSU Manhunt Season.

But since the leaders of Black Tusk claim the Division Agents to be an Organization acting outside of their jurisdiction, the Division Organization is considered Rogue; even if their watch is still Orange.

From videos I've seen, not really. Theres no comms for the moment about it, and the only possible bit of story you could try to extract is that the factions are fighting for control of the Nuclear power station outside of DC.

i like to put them as non canon because of how they overused hunters

much like how we can assume summit as non canon

Anyone else think that the JTF are severely underpowered for in-game combat? in the books they're decent in combat. I think it would be pretty cool to have them as a reliable ally instead of weak npcs that can't even land shots on their targets.

Realistically speaking, they're good fighters. but as it's been said time and time again, they're stretched thin, understaffed, and overwhelmed.

I'd really like to see some sort of spinoff of the division, where it focuses on a JTF National Guardsman grunt somewhere in like say DC
it's worth noting that since one of the novels show that the JTF-- though are mostly limited to the White House-- do actually go out whenever possible; usually to run supplies to nearby settlements.

The Division series is one of the few games where you can fight alongide the National Guard (as part of the JTF, of course)

I was just happy to see them do well in the novel Broken Dawn. I mean, yeah, they needed help here and there, but they're better fighters than they are in-game

My favorite branch growing up was the Army National Guard, so the JTF means a lot to me. plus I tried to get a smile out of police officers and military personnel whenever I could, so there's that, too.

I mostly said what I said because most people I've heard comments on the JTF is that they're trash. I don't want to go out and say "I like the JTF in The Division" without specifying why or how. I gotten crap for saying that before, was a little worried that if I said it without specific context, it would happen here. I felt anxious when putting my server username as "JTF Liason", part of me was like "don't care if anyone laughs at it, there must be some people who'll like it" and the rest of me was like "oh, crap, I don't wanna be hated on for liking the JTF, god I hope there are people who support it."

I myself have seen them kick ass in combat, but no one would really believe me if I said so. at minimum, they make for exceptional suppressive-fire support, which helps out immensely for my play style.

And it's a pretty damn nice thing to play with when your character is actually interacting with others, independent of their personality

Even a generic personality can already work if the delivery of that personality is good, which to me was the case in Wildlands

The MC is a standard military character with a foul mouth and lighthearted professionalism, but I don't need to know their deep troubled past or see anger outbursts at specific tragedies to go "yeah, I like them and want them in the game"

Other games can also do it well, like Secret World Legends actually having a mute character, but giving them life through animation

Your character makes derpy expressions, sometimes has this childish curiosity about the world and generally feels like a mute person who doesn't know sign language instead of a cardboard cutout just there to say "see, your character participates"

And in SWL they could actually write the cutscenes (at least the ones I can remember at the moment) around the character's lack of speech without giving them the fucking R2D2 treatment of "beep-beep" followed by "Oh, we should do a triple cartwheel behind the stormtrooper and castrate him with a lightsaber? That's a great plan, R2!"

As in my character doesn't get asked if they're specifically thinking X and they just nod in agreement

I think the closest they got to that was when one of the True Sons let you in through the back gate to get you into the Space Museum because they couldn't stand what was being planned and prepared there

It could possibly open up more story branches if some people in manhunts (like the occasional smaller targets) could be apprehended and talked to, shown the truth (like "the Div agents didn't know about Amherst, but the truth is there could have been people up top who did know, and we're trying to find out the truth on that... Help us do that" etc)

Maybe would help explain how intel is got to find the big target, and open up possible new characters who could help cause a stir in the factions etc

Yeah it's pretty awful. Not like it matters since yellow offense has never been balanced to do raids. And the nuke plant seemingly has raid-tier enemies. So my drones and weapons made to buff skill damage might as well be squirt guns. After years of this, I'm used to it, but it makes it kind of annoying that it's never been addressed.

It's pretty funny though when I see an enemy and immediately on reflex throw my turret and drone, and then realize it's a Hunter and watch helplessly as my turret and drone turn on me and proceed to down me and two other players on my team.

I even managed to collect all their masks by myself. But once WONY hit, they made sure Hunters can 1v1 a skill user and pretty much always win.

I said the same thing but @plain junco shut me down saying he has no problem killing other SHD agents due to his grief. Although yes, we haven't had anything to hint towards him actually killing any JTF or SHD yet.

And he's not the one who turned over the reactor entirely. Sure, he trained some of them to run it before he went to DC but General Anderson convinced the National Guard to leave it to the True Sons. I'm surprised it didn't say something evil like "True Sons forcefully took the reactor by killing National Guard." Seemed like a peaceful but stupid transaction.
