IDK if it's canon the same Hunter as in CI:AP, but I doubt it.

From what I can remember (admittedly very little) they just had the generic Mask that non-special Hunters have.

The only noise ever heard when I fought Div1 Hunters in Underground was me screaming "SHITSHITFUCKSHITSHIT" because I was skill based and never had a candy bar to remove the disruption debuff so I usually got fucked up pretty quick.

I'm just intensely annoyed the "more important games" are XDefiant and Heartland.

Ubisoft doing multimedia franchises is a little frustrating, but, y'know, they've been doing that shit for a while with Assassin's Creed, so it's not really anything new. My perspective on it is that it's usually meh quality, but sometimes we get something cool out of it and it makes its way into a game, so, it doesn't really hurt since it's not taking up personnel or space for the actual game development part of the company.

Critics of R6 Siege have long joked that Siege was becoming a hero shooter like Overwatch. Little did they know Ubisoft was sneaking up on them with a punk-themed knife to stab in their backs.

My only questions are why. Why, with all of the power and talent at Ubisoft, why make a Valorant clone when they could do almost literally anything? And why, God why, do it with the Tom Clancy's IP?

There was a little. But anyone who's a Tom Clancy fan knows Division isn't really that far removed from some of the shit that's been done before.

It's easier to shit on, say, Breakpoint or Siege for breaking away so far from their roots. But Division was a new IP and despite its interesting lore points, is still grounded and interesting, and not any more wild than Red Storm Rising, HAWX, or EndWar.

The only ones I'll really shit on are Elite Squad and XD(until I see anything to validate it).

But that's due to a few reasons, mainly that they break from the speculative military/espionage genre of the books and games and movies, so they're essentially non canon fanfic games. Plus, at least with Elite Squad and I dread with XDefiant, will be the peak of gimmicky microtransaction gacha shit.

Eh. The late Clancy books authored directly by Clancy has Russia as more or less allies to the US, and China as the antagonist. Post-Clancy books have resolved more into a mix of antagonists from the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and China. The side series like Power Plays or Net Force were always more... Adventurous in the choice of antagonists.

However, I generally agree. In many of the old Clancy books, the individual Russians depicted in the books aren't portrayed as villains, just guys doing their jobs, but they speak Russian.

The antagonist is usually some ultranat faction of the Russian government rather than "All Russians bad" which is why we see Golovko and Bondarenko as cool dudes.

Was basically a depiction of a conventional WW3. Showed characters from both sides in Europe and the Atlantic fighting in the war. In the book, the war only lasted a couple months before it ground to a halt and NATO forced the Soviets to sue for peace.

Iirc one of the last scenes was an American tank commander and a Russian tank commander who had both been followed in the book and both recently gotten the call to truce getting out of their tanks and giving a respectful nod to each other across the battlefield.
