I don't remember how the explosion occurred, but iirc the helicopter starts swerving/crashing and then explodes. So it's pretty realistic. Taking down a helicopter with [automatic] rifles is very doable if the helicopter stays in range for a bit. He should have just bailed, not made himself a sitting target in a court yard full of obstacles (cover)..

I don't think they should be conflated with rogues at all, but it's a good question. First and foremost, how did we come to find out that was their names? Who referred to them that way? Did they self identify at some point? Did we search their corpse for name tags after the fight or did ISAC have the info and displayed it on the HUD immediately? I.e. lore wise.

Not that I think that hunters can't stomach it, just that committing those acts can be done even if you find it revolting because you know the effect it will have is worth more than your discomfort so to speak.

So I personally absolutely think they enjoy it, but the fact that they do it (commit the acts) is not proof that they enjoy it. They could be elite units just following orders and drowning their anxiety in hard liquor during the nights..

They’ll never take a fight they don’t think they can win but they’ll never go all the way to ensure the odds are absolutely in their favour which might suggest some sort of perverted honour system, they value trophy hunting massively, they’re just weird dudes

Maybe, but it could also just indicate a rigid system for rules of engagement, i.e. their behaviour might seem odd because they're operating on a higher set of guidelines making the situation at hand a secondary priority if it collides. Trophies could be an internal actual bounty rewards program, not just a personal choice/preference. Granted organisations with incentives like that typically attracts people who enjoy competition/collecting trophies/etc. So definitely linked to, but not necessarily because of, personality traits.

But there is so little to go on so it's hard. We know they cooperate with each other, implying some kind of network, but we don't really know if they have handlers, if they're autonomous, if they have a chain of command etc. They could as easily be ex-military embittered by the fact that mere civilians with little to no experience was granted the roles of guardians, and are attacking SHD in spite to show what "real training" looks like/how inferior agents are or whatnot. Or they could be just marionettes for some foreign super power.

Not really, the bio mechanical damage from bullets would still disable you even without pain receptors. I've mentioned it before but my personal take on the bullet sponginess is that we're actually just experiencing past events of the agent (ourselves) as being retold with a group of friends over beers.

So there will be details missing, exaggerations for effect, self-boasting and all the other modifiers/white lies that find their way in when a fantastic story is retold from memory etc.

Depends on the concentrations (at least in-game) - you walk into a high-concentration spot (yellow cloud) you take direct health damage, even with a facemask on. Most places it's low enough concentration that as long as you're not breathing it, it's ok
