But no worries. Our first wave prodigal son will set things right /hj
Chapter 1: how to disrupt society
some of them went missing so could still be alive and just AWOL
I'm fairly sure that'd still be marked as Rogue.
normally i’m the one who would say something like that lol but yea
How likely could it be that the dic1 agent answered the call in div2?
The status of our Div 1 agent is grey canon.
Which means you can headcanon your Div 2 agent as the same agent from Div 1
wony and etc dont act like it's the div 1 character, feel free to headcanon it as such though
Of course
What was the society called the outcast had? I know they worshipped a owl
Morovian Society
it's just an easter egg
Maybe they’re the real ones behind McManus’s plan
there absolutely does not need to be a fourth layer of deception and BS to the conspiracy, especially such a cliche illuminati group
am i the only one who is just fed up and bored of secret societies manipulating everything? it's such an overdone plot
when payday 2 has done it, that's when you know it's low hanging fruit lol
the worst parts of re6 involved one too
I haven’t played re6 and never plan to, but I agree with you. Too many games rely on it
But if they actually planned out that and no ever expected it, that would be hilarious
Hell I believe there’s a bigger group than the black tusk out there
Plots being "overdone" Don't really matter. It's more the execution of it more than anything.
^
Ever wonder why there's so many story plots about government being corrupt? Cuz they actually are 😛
This chat is for us to make conspiracies about governments in games , real life governments is sad 😦
While we're talking about low hanging fruit...
What is it with Ubisoft and "evil high tech PMC with drones"
Division, watch_dogs, ac, Breakpoint...
Technology is the future of warfare, drones, warhounds, etc. Somewhat realistic, but I understand where your coming from
The PMCs in the Division actually make sense, but Breakpoints pmcs is “oh I’m a mean person, imma instate martial law and kill ppl” I haven’t looked into legion but I know many ppl say the game is bad and a pmc maintaining law in a city is heavily unlikely
Plus pmcs are easy bad guys to use
that's the real answer lol
the age of Modern Warfare with russian and arab baddies ended, but games still needed easy militarised enemies
the two I mentioned, were also quite poorly executed lmao
Theoretically, Black Tusk can have gunships in their toy box, but we wont ever see them in game
That makes me angry
Nat pulls a shadow company and rains fire on the White House from an AC-130
That’s technically legal
Well legal for them to own a Ac130 and if McManus is the next in line for presidency then it’s possible
Let's be honest, we're at the point where the proper right of power doesn't really matter. Kick enough butt and save everyone
tbf mercs for hire and PMCs are more common nowadays
This is the true Black Tusks origin story btw.
It wouldn't be an AC-130, it would probably be something like their C-17s (also, why on Earth do Black Tusk C-17s can have their mid section be detachable like the one in Dark Hours) dropping cruise missiles out the back
i don’t think dropping missiles from the cargo bay of a plane is a viable strategy
i’m not a military aviation expert but
Or hack them in combat.
I made a suggestion for it on the official forum (that doesn't exist anymore).
Was about a Exotic (Keeners gloves/backpack) which let's you use Achilles Pulse to hack a enemy skill proxy (Support Station, Drone, Mobile Tank, Warhound. And the hive on a BTSU legendary Heavies back)
honestly marauders are probably more efficient than ac130
you need fuel, crew, and munitions for it
even if we ignore that they deliberately dont want to destroy the white house
marauders are more mobile, lighter and for what it does its cheaper than maintaining a gunship
sure its definitely more fragile than an ac130 but its very much spammable
its just plot BS that the drone operators suck at their job and always misses
If they were very effective, they'd be annoying fuckers.
And I'm pretty sure we don't need Recruiter/Stovepipe Final Manhunt mission 3.0
in their defense even Keener managed to hack them at liberty
if it can be remotely controlled then it can be hacked
The US Military actually have that IRL. Search "Rapid Dragon"
fair
but that’s an actual weapons system lol, not what “dropping cruise missiles out the back” brings to mind is all
Black Tusk weapons are all kindsa wacky. We need to get some heavy autonomous gear of our own. Preferably something with a 20/30mm autocannon.
And also remote mini attack heli.
and a wardog
expedition to Philly to capture the military industrial park, including Boeing so we can get some new Helis
like is it that hard to re purpose BTSU tech?
The plant in Philly is making the new MH-139a Grey Wolf medium utility copters. A perfect acquisition to shore up our forces against Black Tusk
do we have enough forces to man such Helicopters?
idk what we have for "forces" at all
Theyre just transport helis tho, so I'd say yeah
true and we still have civlian Milita who we have done a lot to bring over to our side
JTF has to send reinforcements for their whitehouse garrison at some point anyways, right?
They didnt just abandon them. Even if only a skeleton crew, after the attack I'd imagine we need new folks to keep skeleton crew level staffing
yeah tho idk if the JTF can even send Reinforcements X D
I hate that we just dont know the state of like... any of our allies ugh
Or those who would theoretically be our allies, such as JTF, military, etc
We really be at the "SEND DUDES" state
The south is either the most safest or most dangerous place in America
How come we never tried to secure the airport from the dark hours raid? To use for transport to other states and for receiving supplies and stuff?
Not enough personnel probably
Yeah true I suppose
You know what's the biggest "lore vs gameplay" thing we don't talk about
E-credits, are we dealing in crypto post end of the world?
It's actually been discussed at length here for years. IIRC the answer we settled on as a community has generally been: it's only for the Agents, everyone else is just helping each other out".
everyone gets free stuff except the guy that just saved the city for the 4th time this week
no no that guy has to pay in crypto
To be fair, that Agent is also asking for random new guns and storing them in a big trunk so no one else can have them.
we are the Jeff Bezos of the apocalypse.
if you think about it
every enemy we kill leaves a gun behind
we just cherrypick which one to keep
they can use the rest
like i take 10 guns or something from the bad guys out of the 160 that i dropped and im the bad guy for hoarding stuff?
All those NPC's being stuck with green tier guns and us picking the gold ones out on Chall+, yeah we're pretty evil.
I just deconstruct everything I don't want, I don't care about those civilians they can stick to using baseball bats haha no guns for them in my world.
when the mugger with a pistol drops an m60 🤯
me when the clearly American PMC grunt drops an AK
I heard the actual military is busy in the borders somewhere in the audio
Hey they're cheap for a reason.
can you even get AKs legally in the States
I think so, And the Resolute mk 47 is also chambered for AK Rounds using AR parts iirc
", a true AK-47 has a fully automatic setting, which is illegal in the United States. Models with semi-automatic settings are available and legal in the U.S. Manufacturers cannot make or import fully automatic weapons for the civilian market"
i thought the mk47 just uses 7.62 rounds
and nah those AKs were full auto its definitely illegal
thats kinda stupid but i digress
actually no i want my full auto LVOAC back
Iirc the real life version is called the mutant and fires ak style rounds
Obviously take it with a grain of salt, Firearms of any kind in my country is obviously a big Nono so my knowledge of the comes mostly from online
Plot twist: in lore, ammo shortages run rampant for everyone except Black Tusk, and everyone just carries around empty guns hoping to find ammo for it. I'm just imagining the True Sons worshipping a gameplay ammo box, unlimited munitions
If you find the audio again, lemme know!
Just like fuel is a scarcity in the post green poison America, a lot of people including Division agents gotta adapt when it comes to ammo
I do recall in one of the JTF audio logs that majority of the task force including military is busy trying to maintain the borders.
They might want to put a little more priority on the literal civil war going on
I'd argue with how devastating the Green Poison was, the chain of command has been pretty much severed in the US military
its more likely that they failed and thats why we never hear from them ever
how would black tusk even transport all of their logistics throught the border
Giant Hovercraft.
its one thing to smuggle small arms and some robot dogs and another to have...yea that
emphasis on GIANT
its been established in the books iirc that they were loading into US even before the outbreak
even then assume they board after div1
coast guard would've seen them
unless there's no longer a coast guard
remember that div1 takes place after the events of the DZ closing, so there's a fair chunk of time for them to do stuff in between.
Green Poison was unleashed on Black Friday, it was already really bad by about Christmas
obviously it didn't last too much longer or the decorations would've been taken down.
Sometimes, I wonder how things would've went differently if that NSA Analyst could've disobeyed Cal's orders and went after Amherst
fired and shrugged off as deranged
its more likely that he planned it
he knows about the virus,he has ties to Nat,he was responsible for ISAC retcon
assassinated by Hunters, kickstarting a Designated Survivor-esque political mystery/thriller

I'd love to go back in time and kill the bastard who came up with the word retcon
aw come on are you really gonna argue that it isnt
erm its an AI that piggybacks on ISAC servers
erm actually its made for Hunters and is superior to ISAC in every way and heres a bs lore reason as to why we dont have her in the first place
eem ISAC is actually stupid
you leave Garrus alone.
i feel like it’d have been funny if i get the reference
If the addition of new lore in ficitonal media is a retcon, then eveything is a retcon
if an addition of a new lore contradicts old lore then it is rightfully a retcon
You know what, you're a fucking lost cause. I'm not gonna argue with this any further
ISAC's va (whose surname name happens to be Keener) also voices a character in Mass Effect.
Okay tone it down, we're talking about stuff that doesn't exist.
i just googled the guy,huh thats a cool fact
though something i wanna touch on thats not really into the lore but moreso the general writing
people have insisted that Keener wasn’t dead in WoNY for ages
and sure it was a stupid theory back then
but when it turned out that he did people jump on that as a “i told you so”
Keener I can stretch to believe as he died in a cutscene with no definitive death moment.
Theo however....
i still think Theo was bs thematically but i can accept that
but Keeenr
did we not pull the corpse back?double tap?
nah bro just leave him there
would’ve been nice if there was any foreshadowing he was still alive at any point between wony and now
so when people have their opinion ridiculed for so long and gets a rare W they latch onto it and die on said hill
the seasons are sorta just flying by the seat of their pants
ive been there
just cant accept that im wrong
just because i thought i was right for once
i saw someone on Reddit literally reaching that the eclipse rocket in the finale was a hologram
a twitch of his arm that could've been a trick of the light is usually the method they go for.
however we all kinda know that this was an "after the fact" thing, yeah?
revive hive is canon
Holograms famously explode and leak poison when shot.
its not a defib lol it literally resurrect dead people
they also violently combusts in an explosion big enough to wipe out Manhattan
infact you literally see the missiles launching if you fail that section
The explosion of the rockets wasn't what was going to wipe out Manhattan.
Black Tusk had thermals and they’d know that its fake
maybe he’s not ACTUALLY still alive. he just has a homie that has used hypnotherapy to make himself think he’s Keener
Aaron B Keener
very MGS:5.
Punished Keener
bonus points if they cast Jack Bauer as Keener in the movie
Nic Cage has been rumoured, but if it follows div1 I see him more as Ferro.
He is actually Moses Keener, Aaron Keener's Twin brother.
Nah pull a capcom and call him Noraa.
He was originally overseas but he crossed the ocean to join the rogues
i hate that they tried to portray Keener in a positive light
Where, in the comms? Cuz that's a matter of perspective
Wait..does that mean this "Aaron" is actually a she?
No like, Dracula's son in Castlevania is Alucard.
so backwards.
yeah.
aaron clearly wanted the world of might makes right
Oh , right
Ideally it would.be best for our agent to go the third way. That means No Cal, and No Aaron.
the enemy of my enemy is just a massive D head
the skin that says "keener was right" is pretty definitive that they're trying to make him at least controversial and not a failed wall street bro like he is.
Also Manny for President
if somehow WoNY never existed i can see that narrative
No offense, but why should we listen to what a skin has to say?
Keener took the virologist to safety and worked towards solving the conspiracy
Futures Trader. People like Keener were part of the reason the 2008 crash happened.
but then WoNY went against his div1 character and made him into a Bond villain
Does the 2008 crash matter to the Division's narrative, tho?
and then they changed their mind yet again to sets up the Brooklyn DLC
Was i high or I am pretty sure I heard somewhere back in div 1 that Aaron had an...interesting love life
i get that Keener is a charming guy, dope VA behind him
indeed
it’s cus of- i’ve said this a few times before- when you take the multiple MGS easter eggs into account meaning Massive are aware of/fans of the franchise, when you squint a little, the plot of WoNY is quite similar to the plot of MGS2
with his ex wife and such
i think he had 2 ex wives
the actor who plays Keener is actually a pretty solid screen actor.
He had 2 ex wives
Oh god, please please please dont have kelso fall in love with him
Makes you wonder what kind of a person to have a failed romantic life
but reviving characters and then tries to defend his actions as "muh he helped people, and the muh settlements of people believing him"
muh Kelso trusted him
thats not gonna slide
Relationships end for all sorts of reasons, in Keeners case it's because he's a massive bag of tools.
imagine if next season they tell you that Bliss was taking over New York to fight against the Black Tusk
agent i wasn't actually evil i was just ahead of time
I highly disagree. Her expression in the season ending cutscene kinda shows that she's having some doubts about her parternship
The bald bastard's motives dont matter. It doesnt changes the fact he is a bastard
I think you need to take a kitkat and chill the fuck out, chairs
and every single indiviudals who followed him should go to hell
it proves that she sides with him because she believes in(her own words) "the bullshit that Keener spouts"(Hornet manhunt)
But hey, we're talking about a franchise that somehow doesn't fucking matter, so who are we to disagree lol
Okay @glad spruce, I've already told you to chill out, last warning.
But seriously, if I somehow see Kelso and Keener "getting on" in the next episodes, I am quittin' this game for good
fish taco lore
Alright, I'll stop
Kelso is pulling a Lau, I am betting on that.
whatever happened to sussy Mari after they tried to set it up
oof
im pretty sure the Shang Tsung looking slimy guy said something about a chip
Well, Vikram is usually known to be a jerk, so I tend not to take everything he says as gospel
to be fair it was worth highlighting in an audio
so logically its normal to expect that he was right
yeah Malik is certainly not a reliable source.
and people shrugged him off because he's a major A hole
Honestly, I care more about what his sister, Birdie, has to say than he is
is that the lady that bombed Johnson
yea
Honestly, without her help, we would've been 100% screwed
somehow ok when Birdie does it but not when Cindy does it
So I do wanna owe her one.
its set up in a "erm i actually care about Cindy" kind of stuff but still stupid i get
the way the Manhunt was kinda confusingly worded, I honestly thought at first that Birdie was Manny's sister.
yea lets bench our eye on the sky
who can also just hack and manually control black tusk weaponry
Cindy was known to be enjoying collateral damage a bit much, which can affect someone's psych
she did right at coney island and Manny acted as if she screwed up
I would say more he was worried about her mental state
i get the psyche lore thing
i just dont think that its a good move when they're running short on people
there's literally no substitute for her rn
you know what this actually feels like
they're building up for Manny to make bad decisions because of him slowly losing it
I'd be surprised if he doesn't snap in the opening cutscene for next season
there was that one time he was like “maybe we should just give up” and mari was like “wtf?”
Y5S1's ending cutscene
right after that scene is "Asset in place"
so yea Mari sus
unless that scene is literally just talking about Johnson
I know why they do it, but I still wish they'd just track Seasons continuously.
What do you mean?
Personally, I figured that's the case since the person who's talking to Nat in that cutscene sounds a lot like Johnson
yea but it'd be "I'm in position"
current thingy goes by "year then season number of that year", for the longest time it was just "season number".
"Asset" means they're referring to something or someone other than themselves at that moment
or idk his callsign might literally be "Asset"
Asset in something as "tom clancy-ish" as this story is, almost always refers to a spy, if Johnson was there we now know that he was a spy.
erm Asset 0-1 in place🤓
I dunno, year then season number of that year is less confusing to me than just season number.
God knows there were times I was confused which Destiny 2 season is which when they're referred to by number
we saw this coming like a whole 9 yard away so i am just high on copium that they meant someone else and not him
@glad spruce My perspective is a bit different to most, as I'm thinking more on this Server terms and less gameplay.
its awfully quiet this time around 'specially when y6s1 is close
my feelings for pts aside they just went radio silent
I suspect we'll get Y6S1 as well as the DLC revealed in Ubi forward on June 10
the year thing is also a little confusing as we had a repeat and a quiet time, so it just skips ages.
i think the actual twitter page of Division posted a meme about Keener coming back before instantly deleting it
thats the most memorable thing in recent memory
"i lived b*tch"
im not even making that up i have a screenshot of it
Let me guess, they deleted it because that was a spoiler to a number of people?
its been like 2 weeks
thats like saying "muh you cant say iron man died in endgame because spoilers"
still whats the next story beat
this season was meant to be the lead up to the DLC
so we either get filler manhunts like the first 2 after WoNY(Jupiter and Hornet)
or just more infodump
maybe they can somehow convince me Keener had a change of heart
spoilers.
(they wont)
inb4 tchernenko and strategist
most likely lol
Crackpot prediction: next season will be about Kelso going to DC to try to convince Manny and other folks about what's going on.
Or we rescue tchernenko and strategist.
I still don't see how the strategist is useful anyways since he's a dirty coward, but I digress
the Witness will lose in the Final Shape
the Lotus is actually a Sentient
Keener isn't actually dead
I don't think Rivens plays Destiny 2, if I recall correctly
or maybe they’ll come up with someone who conveniently reappeared off screen and was captured by the black tusk off screen who we have to rescue
pretty sure she does at one point
ok here's one more
Big Boss isn't real
wait no what
anyway
inb4 the other 2 agents with Johnson
they came in as a group of 3
big boss isn’t a person it’s an idea and you the player is big boss
ITS JUST SO PEAK
started on battle.net, actually
who were ALSO in DC at the start of the game like he was, not helping for unknown reasons
perfect!
not keeping up with the story since the smallening though.
ok since Massive likes MGS reference
Keener is actually dead but he transcended beyond being a person
he is now an idea and a rogue agent is Keener
and by the very end of the franchise you'l become Keener
source:im from the future
uhhhhhh yea strategist, tchernenko and 1 more random rogue agent
okay enough fan-fics for one day.
when is the next season planned btw
June, since they are doing 4 month seasons
time to invent fan facts
i guess that’s just head canon
but thats just a theory
I was going to start talking about ceiling fans but head-canon makes more sense, yeah
a GAME theory
"we won't be asking you back for the sequel, don't call us"
headcanon: Hawkster gets easily angered
But in all seriousness, y'all can make fun of me if it turns out the next two seasons are actually filler.
I'm now picturing NGN being cast as a cameo in the div movie and it just being the "my back's all f-d up" guy.
I hope there's someome complaining about spinal issues in the 3rd game, really round out the trilogy.
update me on the spinal cord saga
left field: dream casting for a div movie, assuming it's a movie and not a show.
3rd game is gonna have a guy who finally got his back healed
inb4 Tom Holland for every male protag
that sounds like a fairly violent trilogy that from the PS2-PS3/Wii era
tangentially related
I always imagined Brenda from Operation: Crossroads as Debra Wilson
found it really hard to visualise any other character lol without a reference
ooh Waller from some of the DC animated stuff.
It's been a while since I read the novels, but Brenda struck as someone in her late 30s to early 40s.
And Maira being early 30s
I can picture her in a role, sure
i like Pedro Pascal but idk who would he play the best
no i didn't see Mandalorian nor TLoU i like him from that mid kingsman sequel
I wouldn't hate Pascal as ISAC, assuming they don't get Brandon Keener for the voice.
And Debra Wilson is basically in her 60s
the one where he plays a banger cowboy
Manny
I saw him in an episode of CSI the other day when he was like 20 and he sounded like he was told to put on the most surfer accent ever.
very jarring.
I’m watching CSI rn
Keep an eye out on the side-characters, most are VA's.
saw Justin Bieber get shot yesterday
I...may have watched every episode of Miami and most of the original CSI over lockdown.
yes that was a productive use of my time, thank you.
why does he feel like a younger uhhhh the guy that played Cayde
Nathan Fillion, there's a similarity.
yea Nathan
I started watching it after I finished rewatching Life on Mars
British or yank?
the OG
good, the best one.
I have a morbid curiosity to watch the american version at some point lol
It's actually not terrible.
for my answer on casting: if we're going full Hollywood I want some big name to play Keener, but slimy and not just like muscly.
here's my idea:
Tom Cruise for Keener
Honestly, that is not the worst idea. Dude plays a good villain.
he always play the good guy but his character in Collateral was great
master manipulator type beat
also cold as hell
kinda weird that barely anything came out from darpa
they just forgot about it
technically descent was finally the payoff
but they cut darpa out of it idk and replaced them with ortiz
of “the division and the black tusk have the same tech supplier?? conspiracy???”
its weird that they dont have the stuff that we have
like in DARPA the black tusk team there didn't know about any of the tech
seeker mines and all
You think I'd be declared rogue for leaving DC to gather reinforcements
would you?
Idk I'm asking lol
No idea.
If the Recruiter's logic (aka agent douchebag) had any merit, we should've been rogue the moment we went to help DC and its people.
At this point i want to go rogue for real and start my own extremist faction already
as long as you're justified in your cause i think
Lead mobs of rioters to lynch black tusks and true sons
no
Division agents can choose their own missions
except when they cant according to WoNY lore
it'd make more sense if it was actually a misunderstanding on Kajika's part but nope
go vlad tepes impalin' around the town
thats just the way it is
I want to go and start my own militia specifically to combat black tusk lmao
eh not much you can do
That is exactly what i want to dk
I will be.more extreme tho
Wear their plucked out ears as necklaces etc
while the main campaigns were happening black tusk was shown to be systematically taking down settlements and agents alike
Do blood rituals
Black Tusk when I return with troops supported by
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ripsaw_(vehicle)
and
good luck finding people that can operate those
offer basin of Black Tusk and True Sons blood as offering to lady liberty
I'll remind myself not to get on LMB's bad side
logistics,fuel,ammo
dont call me that, thats the start.
I hate LMB
I leave it all to Manny
Call em' Drone Man Manny
Manny was busy rizzing off people while we run around the city doing his job
i dont trust him
Maybe when Cindy gets her head straight, she can go back to operating drones.
Seriously, I can easily see Manny and Benitez basically forced to run for oval office out of overwhelming popular support when all this is over
I'm also planning on stopping at a few places in Penn and surrounding states aka military bases to recruit survivors lmao so
You make it sound like he was purposely flirting with people
Even though we all know his relationship with Mari is mutual
Theres my pilots
im not gonna sugarcoat it you're not getting into office if you're gonna sacrifice people for the blood god
nah man bro has L rizz
Nope, im sacrificing BT and TSs for Statue of Liberty
im convinced Mari is a double agent and pretended to like him to infiltrate the org
bro's dense as a brick wall
and BT and True Sons are not people
Chairs, mate, I think you're paranoid
Tobyhanna Army Depot gotta have some people who can operate drones
they are certainly not peoe
In all honesty, I'd love to have more Division novels.
At the very least, I can get to do Descent every Tuesday for the new audio logs
let ISAC do it
it sounds cool but i doubt the military has adapted the tech for ISAC to just manually control them
that'd be so peak tho
i thought about something
you know the whole argument about how demolishing the Empire in star wars was bad
Which reminds me, aren't we having 6 comms left to complete the Descent comms collection?
sure they were evil but they provided jobs
likely to be extended because dlc delay
i think a similar argument can be made for black tusk
say we put Nat's head on a stick, now what
We get remnants trying to continue the work. Power abhors a vacuum
they are way more resourceful than us rn,literally setting up settlements and just gaslighting people in it
on how they're the good guys and we're evil
they have spare men, ammo, food, shelter, healthcare, all those stuff
im not saying we should side with them what i am saying is that going on a heads on confrontation will be a loss for everyone
they lose big,we lose big,the people on both sides also lose big
Unfortunately civilization is a chain of revolutions. One power replaces the other, in one way or another
its something similar to mutually assured destruction where its not about who wins
its about who loses the least
tbf to do that you'd need to have the basic framework of a government
im pretty sure that somewhere in star wars lore they talked about how life after the empire fell was worse
Tell that to the constant rebel forces overthrowing "authority" throughout history
It happened before, itll happen now, and itll happen again in the future
how many succeeded without a major force backing them up
Honestly, I don't give a single crap about the so-called good things that Black Tusk do.
They deserve to fall. Not my problem how it'll affect their brainwashed civilians.
and its not like we're talking about Cold War its the fricking apocalypse
bye bye society
Its not gone yet!
And tbh, I think youre overthinking the impact removing them will have. It's highly likely the civis will be fine.
If anything I see the world going city-state or wild west
I think the biggest question shouldn't be about "What can we do to bring back the country before the green poison?"
and should be more in the lines of "This is the new world. The old normal is never coming back. What can we do to nurture it?"
i never said we should just surrender im just thinking about what can we do to tackle this problem
its not just as simple as go in kill 1000 dudes and back for dinner
but apparently thats just how we've been tackling problems
for the longest time the JTF's ultimatum is just "send the agent there"
so when we inevitably look the other way for 5 second they nearly wrecked us
Personally, I'd like Division 3 to double down on nurturing and improving community settlements.
Gotta be more to solving our problems than staring down the barrel of a gun
in div1 it was emphasized more about you're not a supersoldier and more of a specialist working as a team
you support JTF operations and they do the same back to you
they have scouts, intel, even strike teams to assist you
I'm all for helping settlements
Now they just send dudes in T-shirts straight into the line of fire of miniguns in human wave assaults
random example:JTF scouts picked up on LMB converging on the police academy
a team helped us take down Barrett
I was beyond bullshit on the first President Ellis camp whiteoak mission
heck without them we wouldn't even make it past the front gates at the UN building
Bleepin useless JTF goons
Things have really gotten worse in the time gap between Div 1 and Div 2.
they are quite outmatched tbf
they ran short when BT blew up the bridge
When youre outmatched you strategize
thats an entire unit gone btw
Yeah, an entire unit of idiots
WHO THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA IN THE FIRST PLACE
granted going through a fuckin choke point is a terrible idea
I can't imagine how bad things are in mid-town Manhattan for Lau/Rhodes/Benitez to move to lower Manhattan
eh, things were going ok for the months before they took full action, and are still going ok outside of their territory
even if they made it past the bridge they would probably just get spawn camped
yea but we apparently dont know the full scale of their operation here
we only assumed they take over cities and settlements and have them under an iron fist
No fire support, no armored support, not even unarmored vehicles.
Ala, the front door isnt an option and the only outcome of trying it is exactly what happened
AND THEY DONT EVEN HAVE BODY ARMOR
tbf thats just reused model
them being ill equipped is true but i doubt those guys at White Oaks came in naked
Until im told otherwise, what I observed is what happened
I think what I want most is seeing Sokolova getting like really angry and raising her voice.
they don’t have much territory beyond the scattered outposts and installations and etc they control on the east coast, and they couldn’t even accomplish their mission goal there
hmm,i dont read the books but at least thats some good news
I do recommend em if you wanna know more about the Division beyond the games.
They're not like award winning novels, but they're pretty competent.
i think that they wanted 2 teams to take them by surpise(they did) and faced heavy resistance at the front gate to create a distraction for the agent to infiltrate
what they didnt expect is the bridge being rigged to blow up
yea but international shippings be dammed
That is just about one of the first things I'd expect
yea im just trying to come up with a reason
div2 JTF is wildly incompetent
i really hope they update some friendly true sons grunts into the game
Want to make a distraction? Easier plan;
Stay on the OTHER side of the river, set up light fighting positions with earth and wood, and engage them at distance.
This has the added benefit of actually drawing more bad guys to deal with the COORDINATED attack
like some of them defected with Lewis
The true sons arent that great either. The game really emphasizes that they have no actual experience
they are literally US army
Theyre JTF, mostly national guard
at least they're more well armed and well trained
And none of them have ever been deployed
the point was that most of them were army
thats why they were loyal to Ridgeway to start with
i doubt random EMT guy would be loyal to a random general
The game says repeatedly that none of them have deployed or have actual combat experience.
They do have basic training though!
they said that?
Yes
do you mind if i ask you for source cuz i genuinely dont remember it
One of them is a lore tip on loading
basic trained national guard>untrained civilian militia
yea that too
they have body armor and grenades too lololol
actual combat medics instead of guy with t shirt and a golf club
You can find description on the True Sons faction in the organizations section from the database meny in collectibles
This is from the "Intel brief" on them
Overall, the True Sons appear to be disciplined and well-coordinated. Most members are trained in either police or military tactics, though few have been deployed overseas in conflict zones. The few True Sons who aren't veterans or ex-cops are either former criminals or recruited civilians and, as a result, sometimes exhibit unconventional combat tactics. But General Ridgeway has built a regiment for his troops that includes standard military training to keep them battle-ready.
i see
still they are way better off than the JTF rn
it makes me a bit annoyed that they never showed you the actual impact of the story on the world
Oh, absolutely.
But the civilians are better off than the JTF so thats not saying much lmao
yea but at least the true sons know better than to not head charge at a wooden bridge that is 100% definitely not rigged with explosives
Sure the civis know that too
I would have rather had the civi settlements put together an assault force for us for that mission tbh. Wouldve been more successful
the point of a civvy settlement is that they keep people there safe
sending their forces to conflicts seem to go against that
just get Cindy to bomb tf out of them lol
While its cliche, sometimes the best defense is offense
they literally cannot afford it thats why the first thing we do go gain their trust is running around doing errants
they're the ones that came after we're done and loot the place for supplies
they had mortars at the castle
just move those and soften the camp up a bit before the assault
tbf castle was still in ruins when white oaks happened
other than that yea
sorry uhh
a different settlement then
didn't we only set up the mortars after we got Birdie
i just said castle cus it’s the only one that matters these days
i thought it was at some point in the main campaign
true sons used biochem mortars and bt has real mortars
that we hacked
idk why we had that set up when the narrative seems to be shifting away from DC
when they said BT might have a bunker in Manhattan
Theatre
mortars in the Theatre
shouldn't we gear up for Haven then?
theater had mortars?
I don't wanna go to NYC :' (
come on it looks nice
yes they have actual mortars instead of the WHATEVER SIN black tusk mortars are
And nah.
I hate new york
I hate new york
I hate new york
nah i'd go to new york
ive ran through DC multiple times for past manhunts
im sick of it
New york got 1 whole game and TWO DLCs
yea
We dont have to stay in DC (though I enjoy DC still)
Let's just go SOMEWHERE ELSE
How about Philadelphia! Put this Black Tusk Bunker there!
Or somewhere in Virginia!
Let's go to Richmond!
Anywhere. That isnt. New Dork City.
please 7-7
speaking of which… we got a Pentagon update why did we never get a Langley, Virgina (CIA) update
Depends if there's enough fuel to get to Virginia with heli
it’s like <10 miles away
we go to Kenly every 3 weeks or so
The last thing we got with the CIA was the Langley Reports
As for Kenly, I thought we only go there once to stop the Outcasts, rescue Jack Arnold, and recover the mobile SHD Server
yea but if we can go back and forth to what is essentially Nowhere DC
Virginia isn’t that far
heck we went do NYC
it kinda shows how bad the JTF became when they can just lose Proteus and no one cared lol
oh yea that whole ass convoy with a mobile SHD server?
i fragor 💀
its only when they got a distress signal from it lol
I do remember in the audio logs from last season, Jack Arnold talks about how and her unit were ordered by a Division agent to bring the mobile SHD server to Kenly college.
Which is heavily implied to be Brian Johnson
To be fair, there's so many surnames, its not easy to remember one specifically
just like the sheriff forgot the box was electric
My crackpot theory is that Keener forced Kelso to order us to touch the box because he would've killed the sheriff otherwise.
Next time, I gotta double check my writing
Kinda wish cryopods are a thing so I could skip to next season
You’ll trigger the ark kids
That's what I'm waiting for too. Been playing AC Mirage in the meantime
I know I'll burn myself out on div2 again and I want to play next season lol
Collecting the Descent comms should be keep me entertained for at least the next couple of weeks
they are interesting
I don’t recall Isac announcing Hunter tech as “Hostile”… was it changed from saying “Rouge”?
Oh right
A group of masked psychos as Homeland's private army.
I'd have said feds, but we all know Division agents are also feds in the sense of the term
The jokes aside, this guy predicted the future lol
Psychos?! I think you mean TRUE PATRIOTS
Careful, you're gonna send our friend into a psychotic rant lmao
Oh, yikes
Just like the mention of LMB angers him, the mere mention of True Sons and Black Tusk angers him a thousand times
You know, I should do a re-read of the Operation Crossroads novels.
How come we never secured the pentagon and used it as a secondary BOO?
Too big
IIRC, the area in one of Nat's scenes is shown in Season 11's trailer looks a lot like the Pentagon
Season 11?
Reign of Fire. Stovepipe's Manhunt
Wait what season are we on now? Lol
Year 5 Season 3: Vanguard. Since it's part of the year 5 content that got started in June last year.
And by June 4th, we should be starting with Year 6 Season 1
Ohh okay
“well yes, but actually no”
I still wonder how Black Tusk can make use of Harlan Lloyd? Yes, he was The Strategist for the Outcasts. But aside from that, he's a coward who can easily buckle under pressure.
Vitaly Tchernenko, I understand, due to his experience in virology. But Lloyd? I'm in a bit of a loss there
Wellll both sides hate the division and he is a psychopath
Maybe we need to be on the lookout for suicide warhounds now
As if sniper, minigun, and grenadier warhounds weren't bad enough 😟
But hey, tomorrow's Tuesday, so I'm ready to get this week's Descent comm
We know it could potentially be about?
Y6 s1 will have us tracking manny down after he decided to say fuck this and bail
Surprised he’s not already bailed on us tbh
Manny is the definition of that dog in a room on fire saying everything is fine
I don't know, cuz I don't datamine or anything.
And I doubt there's anyone who actually datamined the Descent audio logs
Maybe it would discuss the back door in the shd servers
Which seems to be wide open 😂
I know some players on here who have been playing Descent since its release have the comms currently at 50 out of 52, though they haven't shared videos about em.
If Manny jumps ship, they better let me follow suit.
I have no actual attachment to SHD itself.
Yeah lol it’s funny cuz most agents I see in the world have rogue outfits 😂
Could that mean only two weeks left of season with their only being two comms left
Well... Yes. There is a giant sign that says the season is at week 15/17
Yeah, it's literally shown in the seasonal vendors
inb4 season extended
I thought you would get all of them (up till the newest) as soon as you complete 1 Descent run...
I remember that I came back from a break to play it, and after the Nemesis I had 15 comms.
Did they change it so you only get 1 per completion?
Yeah, that's the catch up mechanic. If you don't play the mode for a couple of weeks, it gives you a number of comms that you missed out on after you defeat the Nemesis.
Otherwise, you get 1 comm a week.
Anyway, I got the latest Descent comm. It's called ANNA's first test.
||Claire instructs Vivian to do an unauthorized field test run of ANNA by going somewhere, run a pulse scan, and map the region. I say unauthorized because Claire is doing it behind Alex's back and she wanted to make sure the AI works before they can pitch it to McManus||
||Considering the comms we got over the last two weeks, I can tell they're focusing on the early days of ANNA.||
Implies I assume we may see a system change at the DLC's start or outcome
||ISAC To ANNA||
Gotcha.
Yeah, because you replied the post I sent to l3eardd, I thought you meant something else.
Yeah no Im just an idiot at clicking the right buttons
No worries, bud
Where would folks like to go for Div 3, if you could chose anywhere in the country?
No idea. Maybe Chicago or West Virginia
Besides, do we know of other cities that are important?
New York was important because it was the center of the Green Poison outbreak. Washington, DC is important because it's the capital of the entire country.
Personally I’d like to see more of America opened up to us
Los Angeles? Saint Louis maybe?
Los Angeles, maybe. But Saint Louis is a radioactive hellhole thanks to the dirty bombs that Outcasts deployed there with a help of a Rogue Agent
And in case you ask, it's depicted in the Recruited novel as well as referenced quite a lot in Stovepipe Manhunt
That's exactly why I mentioned it
It has story significance
And gives a reason to use the "contaminated area" mechanics
Or DZ
Could have the game mainly take place on the outskirts, with incursions to the radioactive center.
Just spit balling of course
I'm more interested in interesting settings anyways. New Orleans/Tampa or Portland/Seattle would be my two regional picks
Seattle, Washington
Anchorage, Alaska
Honolulu, Hawaii
Houston, Texas
any of those are my choice
Yeah PNW LETS GO
Wherever it is, please offer some actual open world nature areas!
📠
One of the prettiest places on earf
Detroit would be pretty wild.
Russia, to get Natalya's head after she flees back to there😏
Still think Vegas would be funny, every casino would be a dark zone due to infected chips.
Depends if there's still aviation in the current state.
America ain't the only country that got hit by the green poison
Area 51 raid👀
SHD Gets aliens tech confirmed
Tokyo City would probably be ALOT of fun
International would be exciting! Unexpected suggestion for that; Mexico City, or somewhere else in Mexico. Country doesn't get any love
thing is its pretty much confirmed that the division wont leave usa too soon
I want it to be in Boston
The Strategic Homeland Division not being in America might be kinda tricky.
Sure but if the writers wanted they could find a way
its okay that they dont want tho - i just stated they wont xD
The farthest the division would be out is Hawaii and maybe Alaska
The only real place I could see the division going international is Cuba
They'll do another large scale metropolitan area within a well known area of the US I suspect. Las Vegas, LA, Austin, St Louis etc
We gotta go over there to help the homeland
The british rikers have nukes, or something
Bri'ish here, Our nukes are only ever stored on Submarines out to sea, So uh, Riker Pirates confirmed
An even bigger threat, Riker pirares
Quickly, get the division warship, it's time for a maritime division game
Unironically though its gonna be the US Surely, trying to find a lore sensible reason a US based and founded by USDHS Organisation goes anywhere outside the US is a bit tricky.
Would it be possible tho (SHD mobile server wise)?
Couldn't we just take them to a different country?
The networks linked to Satellites so in theory so long as the server or Satellites are up it shouldn't be an issue
In that case I can definitely see us going to Russia with Keener to finish off Natalya.
Hawaii would be KILLER. I can't really think of any games there. Honolulu, some outer areas and some jungle would have me hopping in excitement!
Or to really make me blow my top...
Imagine the whole island of Oahu...
My knees are weak just thinking about that...
We've had snowy and cold, we've had wet and kinda dreary, next up on the setting rotation is sunny.
the mobile servers are just a backup plan, the real infrastructure of the network is pre-set in place throughout the US
I rather have a map that changes seasons
How do you imagine the seasons changing working ingame?
I'm ready for palm and sunburn. And they can make time pass without major map changes since Hawaii has like... Two seasons
Forza Horizon 4 has a decent system. Seasonal changes were on a rotation
That's exactly why right.
We go rogue in Div3, we need mobile servers to back us up (as we're not in USA anymore
Make 4 different styles of the map
or 3 spring/summer, winter, autumn
I don’t want Div 3 in a different country
Oke and now?😂
I'm all in on this Hawaii idea lmao
?
Gonna drive two hours to Ubi Montreal and demand Division 3 in Hawaii
Don't actually do that though.
I always assumed the next Div would be set in LA. Big city, lots of varied environments, the celebrity angle could be fun.
the Fallout TV thingy shows that the places there work in the post apocalyptic sense.
That's exactly what I thought "?" (Oke... and now?)
wdym “now”
You don't want a div 3 in another country
Oke and now?
Would it happen because I came up with the idea? Nope😂
That means another addition to the california memes lol
I have no idea what that is.
They were just stating that they didn't want something, they didn't think that 1 person's random suggestion on a server would confirm it.
I honestly hope we don't get div3 in another country. There's plenty of games set in other places, the div franchise is very American.
it's like setting a Fallout in the UK wouldn't work.
But we've been to LA a million times. I'm so committed to Hawaii now cause it's rather unique, and can offer the same uniqueness in story too!
Hawaii has some stuff but like, I don't really picture big cities when I think of there, and a main div game needs a big detailed environment to wander around in.
Honolulu
Think of the architecture there, the landmarks. Would it be recognisable if you haven't been there?
The landmarks are natural.
It has some architecture but mostly the city isn't what makes Hawaii. Iconic. It's the palms and beaches
So it'd be a Far Cry then. Kinda not the right franchise for big loads of grass and trees+cliffs.
Far Cry 6 in this case.
Idk the city is pretty big. Has an actual skyline too, unlike DC
Eh, I don't think a skyline should be simply what defines a setting in the Division games
I don't either, but, it's what comes to me when I think of "iconic architecture"
I hope it does go somewhere else, as I think we go rogue in Div3 (rogue different country).
It would make sense for the "begin with nothing" again.
It would make sense that Natalya escapes her arrest/death to keep the story going.
We'll know for sure once the DLC is released. As that's almost certainly going to lead straight in to the 3rd game.
Yeah because there are not that many games/movies in America😂
You just like saying random, mostly unrelated things as replies.
If I'm being realistic.
I expect New York City #4
We're gonna shoot Nat and Mcmanus in the face and reform the legitimate founding beliefs of the Division
Please Massive, Please
That's for sure, I just hope it's good.
Set it in New New York from Futurama.
madison cubed garden can be a stronghold.
Boy I sure love visiting the same city repeatedly!!1!
Okay, but we haven't been to Brooklyn aside from the tutorial in Div 1.
NYC is nyc
I'm curious how many people put together that the bridge Keener and pals drove across at the end of the Manhunt was probably the Brooklyn Bridge.
Say, what if Division 3 is about the aftermath of the Division/Black Tusk war and where do we go from there
division 3 kentucky
Wasn't that destroyed though?
faction that makes crop circles
The Rapscallions
😂😂😂
Rather have my own idea's than bragging with facts of the novel writer (as that is the safe way ofcourse)
....it's a reference to Futurama, a cartoon show from 1999.
And before that you bash me for random replies
If this is a troll or whatever, just leave off it.
I think it was the Manhattan Bridge that was destroyed!
Oh, Thanks, I only recognise it by its appearance so I dont know the difference by names!
That one is on me, it was the Brooklyn Bridge that was destroyed!
The Beastie Boys crying in front of the smoldering Brooklyn Bridge
So everything is coming full circle there because the Manhattan Bridge is the very first thing you see when you start The Division 1. Your character is facing it right away.
BTW for the lore guys (you probably already have done this, but if you didnt), the other day I was eating while on the game...
And I walked over to a propaganda side mission where I heard Natalya speaking, she said all kinds of things about her brother, her working with the government, her childhood and father, etc.
Maybe something for you to listen to?💪
I stop and listen when I hear em lol. Mentions the Trucker Wars too
True, are those novel enemies?
Or are those the green balaclava dudes?
Aah oke
DLC Is 2025 again right?
As of right now, yep!
MSV are known for giving bugger-all heads up about stuff and then just releasing it, so don't expect a big marketing push or anything.
WONY was only a month pre-release that we got the Trailer.
The funnier question (or bet) is:
Will it come out before or after GTA6?😂
Couldn't care for that game so doesn't bother me tbh.
Those were added after we finished the Recruiter manhunt.
We have got two more seasons before the DLC! I wonder where the story will lead.
Not that they'll do it, but I would be delighted if we do get a reveal trailer as well as gameplay reveal in Ubi forward.
Fingers crossed!
IIRC, next season should be out by June 4th
Would people like to see more collabs of moderate size? For example, like the Assassin's outfit in Wildlands type of stuff
Or maybe even like how Watchdogs and Ghost Recon had mission based collabs with fellow Ubi ips
It would be nice to get a Rainbow Six collab
Although I doubt we'll get missions crossover
i like references or a character that pops up with an indirect interaction but nothing too big. i'm not a big fan of cosmetics from other franchises because it's usually a bland outfit with the game's logo.
like that last assassination mission in watch dogs 1 that ties into assassin's creed.
the reason i don't want something big is it's usually done in an unfun gimmick way. like sam fisher showing up in ghost recon, especially the one mission in wildlands, it just doesn't make any sense. they did it better in breakpoint imo but still. i'd rather something more subtle.
Likewise
I loved the AC outfit in Wildlands. Was one of my go-to
Those kinda cosmetics I want more of
I would like a Predator collab (gimmick Manhunt)
Where we have to find out who the hell is killing random people, first we think Rikers, etc.
Then we think it's Hunters, but in Manning National Zoo we find out its the Predator.
After killing it we receive apparel stuff, Predator Mask, (maybe a whole outfit), and a Vanity Mod for the Pulse skill, which let's us see pulsed enemies with infrared thermal vision (+ the sound of when the Predator zooms in the moment we pulse)
I know it's already been done in one of the games named just now, but still
if only it wasn't a licensed thing where it's content that's just going to be removed once the license runs out.
i'd rather keep the crossovers in between Ubi's IPs than them tying in other media that's just going to be removed later.
if the mobile servers are what we’re relying on then does that mean the main server is down?
Good question
I know the node in Kansas was attacked and Kelso says she was planning to go and look at it but idk if it was ever fixed
Anyone else able to offer a better answer than me?
im pretty sure she was going to check up on new york
The Kansas Core was depicted in the Recruited novel. Long story short, it was under attack and a Division cell went there to stop it.
I thought I walked in on some new metalcore subgenre
What?
Kansas Core
Oh, right
Basically, Cores act as bunkers for the Division and there are three of them. One in Kansas, and the other two are in Texas and South Dakota, respectively.
So, someone remind me, when did Vikram's rescue release back on last season? I'm trying to find the link between it and the Hunted novel.
Anyone have headcanon on what their Agent did pre-outbreak?
I do.
JTF Police during the 1st wave, activated as a SHD Agent during the second wave.
so If I were to guess, mine was probably a police officer before the outbreak.
Ah, much the same as mine. I'm sure many people gave themselves a similar backstory haha.
My guy was a Marshal SOG team member before and during the first wave. He was reassigned to a SNSSO (Strategic National Stockpile, Security Operations) team to guard a convoy of FEMA materials from SNS, but was hit with an overwhelming and devastating ambush. Only a few survived. He was activated shortly after for the second wave. (SNS is a CDC program irl)
Marshals also help respond to bio-terrorism and pandemics, which I found fitting
He also hates being referred to as "The Sheriff"
Question, what other fictional crisis could the division handle? Got a silly idea of a triple crossover of edf, xcom, division
SHD agents aren’t dedicated soldiers yes their tech gives them an edge while fighting and they are trained but they’re more like crisis management specialists they know how to lead and organize teams
In a xcom styled deal they're not trying to take out a gray. They're more heading into the dangerous areas and pulling out survivors while maybe gathering intel. In terms of a xcom2 au, agents would be a subfaction that fights like xcom but shd tech gives them a major early game boost
Invasion of sentient space hamsters
The Big Bababoey Crisis
anything which is beyond the ability of conventional means to deal with and that devastates the infrastructure/stability of the US
If we're still talking about our pre-pandemic headcanons for our agents, mine was in the army then left to work as an EMT.
Oooo, I like it!
Trying to work on the Lore friendly recruitment format from the SHD pre outbreak is always unique when you consider some of the folks they actually recruited:
With my two characters I went with, My Heavy Gunner is a former Parks Police CID Officer, My Medic Skill build was a Detective with a Background in the Cybercrimes division.
Okay, now I remember. Vikram's rescue and the Recruiter mission was released in late December last year.
Guess that explains why they released Hunted novel in early January this year
Technically, CERA is the Division's version of FEMA
Yep, div has a lot of things like that. Slightly modified names so they avoid legal issues and such.
e.g. the cop cars in NYC, and also the name of the DCD being a play on the CDC.
Not excluding Weapons across the franchise are renamed in one way or another or taken from now defunct companies to get around licenses
@glad spruce (Sorry for the ping buddy you're potentially away or alseep) Are you responsible for all the new Wiki additions regarding the books?
Yeah
Good Job Man. Real good articles on the likes of Thaddeus Greene (which is the one I spoted your style of writing on that made me ask)
Oh, that one was not me. Most of my focus is on Maira Kanhai and that page needs some work, tbh.
Huh, WELL Whoever did Greene's and your's writing style for the articles are the same
Cool either way to see those pages filled out
My focus is to add more details for Maira's page and do a detailed summary for each of the novels in their respective pages
careful what you put on there/how you word things, we don't want a Halo "wiki error becomes canon" moment
"the personal weapon of original First Wave Rogue Agent and egotistical sociopath Aaron Keener." - Whover wrote this segment of the Wiki is instantly a freind of mine now.
Hey, if an error of my own becomes canon in the Division universe, I'm fine with that lol
Tru dat @glad spruce and @ashen jungle
Wait, so we stole Keeners fav weapon because he played dead right?
Probably
I don't know what's his personal weapon is
Also, considering the Golden Bullet GE coming next week, I think next season will come out June 11.
Coincidentally, June 10th is also where Ubisoft Forward event is happening
CMMG Banshee
although, in the flavour text for the Urban MDR from the first game, he endorsed that gun as a good choice so it’s weird that they didn’t callback the reference and have him use one.
I do like how Urban MDR and FAMAS became regular weapons when they were first added as Exotics
In the riker heavy weapons death quote, Benitez did mention that NYC gun control was tough
Whoever came up with the death quote for enemy units deserves a raise
"Sure. Great. Fine. Now they've got heavy weapons. Where the hell did they find them this god-forsaken island? NYC's gun laws are pretty strict."
ROY BENITEZ
So thats probably the reason why FAMAS and MDR was so rare back in NYC it was considered unique.
Meanwhile at Texas...
Can't believe I just now thought about it, but there's a shit load of automatic weapons the factions have. It's not surprising for the LMB to have them, but everyone else?
TEC-9s are semi auto pistols converted to full auto, M4s, MP5s and P416s taken from police/national guard armouries, AKs and many others are handwaved as “Black Market”
I wouldn't even say hand waved. You'd be surprised what's around that's illegal, and how easy they are to access
are the two ortiz engineers/owners still alive?
We don't know yet.
Ohh they still with btsu as of now?
All we know they stayed in a bunker (probably a BTSU bunker) when the outbreak got started.
As to their current status, it remains unknown
I just realized something, NGN's latest video does explain how Keneer managed to hack the Warhounds during the Liberty Island mission
Ahh okay thanks
Gonna be a lot more to that trick this DLC I feel too.
wait wasn't there mention of a btsu bunker at the start of the season?
There were mentions of a bunker in one of Descent's comms where Cal chews out the Ortiz couple over ISAC getting an agent killed by marking her rogue.
ahh yeah that's it
Had anyone here ever made their own faction from the world of Division
Not really
massive nerfed the mdr to semi auto😔
even a prick like him has standards
We all know if MDR, LVOA-C, and Lightweight M4 stayed as ARs, most people would've stayed using it forever 😛
Seriously, that guy Godsavant in the wiki really has been a lifesaver. He even polished the Ortiz Robotics page that I added a while back.
I really, really want to do this if Massive somehow add this as a function in div 3 or sth.
You get to choose which kind of members you have in your settlement etc...
Got one cooking on the back burner actually.
famas is just lmw4 but ugly
FAMAS is an amazing weapon and I will not hear any slander against it
🇧ulpup
Bullpup weapons may not be ergonomic, but by god they're gorgeous
btw since you’re now in the business of editing the wiki could i suggest an edit to be made?
why wasn’t that a reply @glad spruce
What do you have in mind?
on the page for rogue agents it has a list of them
it lists bardon schaeffer as one because of the fight against him i was wondering if you could remove him lol
also, the rogue agent from falcon lost isn’t listed (she’s unnamed but she still has dialogue which makes her a character)
Working with fandom wiki templates ain't exactly my specialty, but I'll see what I can do.
Thinking, are there reasonable rogue agents? Basically people who don't trust the feds but doesn't start eating babies the second their watch goes red
Depends on how you define reasonable
the division ARE the feds
i don’t even think you would need to be rogue for that. division agents have the authority to pursue their missions as they see fit more or less, as long as you don’t walk out on anything urgent and you aren’t actively hurting/hindering the cause, you probably could be a lone gun agent
I mean the primary goal of the division is protection and in time restoration of the system. Not everyone agrees that the system should be saved in an 1:1 version
couldn’t you just have like
not accepted the recruitment offer then
People change, end of the world changes people. Doubly so if you know everything the Sheriff knows
I sure hope the white house is cleaned up by the start of y6
Just when I was starting to find the Dead bodies art-deco you go and take them away from me 🙄
Lol
Dear Developers; I'd love more Ubisoft trinkets, especially ones I can put elsewhere. Having the Hidden Ones Dagger from Mirage holstered on the back of my armor would be sick
This is more of a lore discussion channel than a request one, but either way the item would need to be specifically made for div2, you can't just take an item from one game and add it to div2.
especially when they use different engines entirely.
Oh I know lol. I dont expect anything I just like to make noise haha. Tho I will argue thats exactly what a model port is, one engine to another.
Anywho, Somethin about a new decent comm popped up on my ytube today?
New Rogue Agent Descent comm Just dropped within the last hour mate.
Seemingly a repeat? Seems Familiar to me.
||Talks about the Backdoor created by Mcmanus's watch being able to access all three systems||
Is it the one called Field Test: .50 Cal?
Cuz I got that one. And absurdy enough, the game took pity one me and I'm currently at 40 out of 52 comms. So I'm like 8 comms behind now.
So, about the latest comm I got. Field Test .50 Cal?
||Basically, Brian Johnson gives some feedback about the Operator Suit (you know the same suits that we use in Descent). Although McManus and Claire Ortiz appreciate it, they wanted to go further and tested .50 cal on Brian's suit, simulating heavy pain on him.||
Its Collectible 49: "Updates"
Yeah, I'm aware of that one. NGN got it a while back when he uploaded the first complilation of Descent comms.
I guess Rogue Agent didn't get that before, hence the comm he got this week was that one. Edit: Nvm, he did get it.
The one I got is Field Test .50 Cal
I'm honestly surprised that the game decided to up my Descent comms collection from what was 23 up to 40 (which includes the new one I got) considering I had a lot to catch up lol
I checked Rogue Agent's playlist and it looks like he finished his Descent comms collection
This comm is interesting
https://youtu.be/9vE98vS2xKY?si=XEHTeRX8BP2gTn8H
Cuz the mobile SHD server that Keener took with him has a phoenix logo on the briefcase.
So, either...
A - Alexander ignored Cal's feedback
B - That one is not made by Ortiz Robotics
C - They got one of those Sticker packs off amazon and slapped it on there.
Probably
I do sometimes wonder if at the end of the last game in the franchise, it's going to pull back and reveal that it's all taking place inside a snowglobe.
okay even for me that was obscure.
I know some don't care, but I've been really enjoying doing those Descent collectibles (even if almost everyone hates the game mode lol).
What if it was a Mobile SHD Server, stored within somewhere like a Hub, and only deployed post activation, they could be as blunt as they liked about the packaging as everyone in the place worked for the SHD 🤔
The descent comns are basically describing the shd tech backstory, probably most casual players won’t care enough to look into it ( I find it funny tho Johnson got shot with a 50.cal round)
What better way to simulate pain in telemetric suits than a 50.cal round?
Im hoping the round is a training round cause if those suits can survive a 50, then realistically were fucked
Pretty sure it's a training round, especially since the suits were made primarily for the Descent simulation
ooooo like what?
oh has anyone else created factions off of the Division universe? honestly i dont wanna be the only one
So the descent comms are done now right?
Ended up being less short than planned, but still shorter than it could be haha
Traditional CAS is also available thanks to having secured a VANG airbase and recruited them
2 comms this week that's nice. 50/52 here, on track with the end of the season.
I now know what I'm missing from my homegrown factions
For some, yeah. Me, I'm catching up
Hmm?
So did we ever find what operation nightmare was about or is it lost to history
massive gaslighting operation
I do wonder if there's other references of Kelso being CIA in-game, cuz I know the earliest reference is an audio log from Y5S1: Broken Wings
I think in the early lifespan of the game it’s brought up? I remember them talking about it before broken wings came out
Iirc that is on Kelso's profile on the database section on the progression menu. The dossier mentions she was a CIA paramilitary officer.
Yeah, that part. Although I'm aware most people wouldn't read stuff from the database section of the collectibles.
I do enjoy reading Ellis memos, tho 😛
I doubt this counts as lore, but I’ve been playing xdefiant and on one of the ghost recon maps, there is division tech just laying around…. coincidence I think not
they have Cleaners fighting on the streets of not-Cuba from Far Cry 6
XDefiant, formerly Tom Clancy’s, has no plot or worldbuilding
just iconography
Yeah I wouldn't look too far into it. It has Division based levels and the tech is probably just set dressing
Not to mention it's on the same engine
A little too many
XDefiant is just a PvP shooter using other Ubi franchises as basis for the game's maps and characters.
Try not to look too much into it.
Besides, we do know Gordon Amherst is featured in Splinter Cell: Dragonfire novel, even though Splinter Cell and other Tom Clancy's franchises are set in a different timeline from the Division.
Xdefiant also has the Echelon
Nah bro, it’s apart of the cannon now
I would totally use a cannon in xdefiant.
We have cleaners, where's my incursion minigun chunga cleaner at
We Division agents killed em all. Sadge
Goofy thonk, you can get one unreasonable manhunt featuring any Tom Clancy game, what do you pick?
The rabbits
Now I'm imagining rabbits dressed up like black tusks
My pick was the wolves. Just because "oh no we're about to get franked" is funny
Nah if I know any group more terrifying than the Tom Clancy villains, it’s those little shits
HAWX
I could work with that. The manhunt is targeting their supplies. Take out enough and they're grounded which becomes like shooting fish in a barrel
Bonus points you could have them flying over launching bombing runs on you
We got a Manhunt about rescuing civilians and a Manhunt involving investigating areas
Wouldn''t mind a Manhunt that involves sabotaging True Sons/Black Tusk infrastructure
So its joe ferro who’s the announcer for the cleaners right? Or am I bugging out nvm it is lol
Joe is more dead than the roach i've burnt with a deodorant
uhhh lmao santa blanca
Nah it is joe lol
Dude just revived to announce an player got jumped
Honestly, best announcer, I miss his old echelon ultimate callout though
I Wonder If revive hive is actually Canon to ingame cutscenes
If so, then it's probably a reason keener revived
Or he just survived with an fake death thing
There's actually something like that IRL
Where someone appears to die but they really didn't
“i wasn’t on liberty island”
Nice COD reference there
If your talking about Xdefiant than I doubt it, probably just a random cleaner watching the go pro footage and critiquing us
Ehh one of the play of the game lines suggest its joe who’s watching us
the engineers
Out of curiosity, why would the division be in Alaska in your opinion
isn't Alaska part of the US
Yes
It's also the coldest state in the US, which might also incite annoying people who want a return to their precious Div 1 atmosphere
Agent, the Moose have a stronghold at the indoor water park. Anchorage isn't going to be safe until you clear it out
trees+snow
nice environment
and it would be a unique scenario to see how division agents think/operate in part of the US not connected to the rest
The big draw-card of a MSV product is the intricately detailed environment, especially with the div franchise as it's always very city focused
can you see an Alaskan city being on-par with NYC or DC?
I've googled "alaskan city" and i honestly think someone just subbed in Fallout 4's Boston.
You can have an intricately detailed environment with a city focus anywhere. It doesn't have to be somewhere with loads of world renowned landmarks. I'm fact I'd say that could even be interpreted as a crutch if they can't make an enjoyable, detailed map without having tons of world famous landmarks
I'd love to get my hands on Silver Creek for that reason. Especially since it seems to be on div 2 engine already
Besides, I always wanted to know how the Division would operate in the outskirts of a state.
I agree. I want some smaller, less urban locals
That'd just be Fary Cry then. Which even has a city or two now in 6 AFAIK.
The games play very different, but ok
Not to mention completely different themes, world building, and atmosphere
What we're talking about is specifically the design of the map and how it influences the game world. Div is based off real world areas.
Heartland is not happening, although it wouldn't shock me if they fold elements of that map into xDefiant and/or Siege in the future.
Heartland was also not being made by MSV.
Just because it's not in a city doesn't mean it has to be designed like a FC open world. Division has always had closer to a 1-1 scale with maps. Far cry has a much lower scale where a town is like, 7 buildings and covers a vast area.
How they approached maps is very different, and I didn't think changing one aspect is going to turn one into the other
The maps are still going to have very different "vibes"
Far Cry as a comparison was just an easy way to indicate that I don't think it suits the div franchise's design, not that i think it would literally be Far Cry.
although it is remarkably similar even if you go to the area near Tidal Basin, there's a distinct "this feels like it was cut from New Dawn/5" vibe.
Completely disagree
I've never even had a thought about it not feeling like the division anywhere in DC. The overgrown areas like the mall are a big reason it's my favorite map
I get where you're coming from. It's a matter of IP identity. But I don't think urban maps are what makes the Division, itself
Of course, what makes a Division map is subjective to some.
Because the way some people overhyoe Div 1's NYC, you'd think any map that doesn't have winter isn't properly a Division map
The other part of why I love DC is cause I hate winter lmao
raaagh I'm not a true Div fan
I'm not a big fan of winter, either. Which is why I like DC as well 😛
dont be mad just because it's untopped
The way I see it, both Division maps have different approaches.
Div 1 is during the height of the Green Poison, so it'sll dreary, desperate, and depressing with factions trying to make sense of the whole mess.
Div 2 is six months after the Green Poison, with overgrown areas, civillian settlements trying to survive with whatever resources and infrastructure they have, and factions with their own ideology trying to make their own mark
Alright alright alright. What about something in-between
Arizona, my favorite place in the US
Set it in Flagstaff and the surrounding nature. You have VERY ICONIC landmarks available like the red cliffs of Sedona, and the Grand canyon to the North, as well as a small urban center with Flagstaff.
With a followup dlc of the Phoenix area for that nitty gritty urban center
Or even flip it, and do Phoenix first, and have Flagstaff as a smaller dlc area
Doing Phoenix first actually makes.more sense probably
I think with Division 3, there's a certain expectation it'll continue where Div 2 leaves off
Suppose we do actually defeat Black Tusk in Div 2, what next? Do we take the fight against the corrupt US government officials?
If they go that path. Or we could deal with a completely different issue elsewhere
I think it's safe to say that the next Season will lead into the DLC, which will be the biggest clue for what's yet to come still.
