Would I be correct in my assumption that optimization allows you to take the stored core attributes and attributes and modify the weapon to have those attributes so you can recalibrate something like the talent or change the attribute without worrying about the percentage?

Not quite, you can extract max rolled attributes from gear and save it to the library to recalibrate items with, but you can't extract stats after optimizing them to max

As you can only recalibrate one stat, optimization allows you to finish off the other stats

thats what I meant, that could you change the talent or attribute through recalibration but finish off an attribute through optimization

Like say my gun has 3.5% weapon damage and I can go up to 5%, rate of fire thats at 2.5% and can go up to 6%, and weapon handling at 4% but can go up to 10% or so... but I want to change one of the attributes or talent, could I finish off the rest of the attributes ? Or by recalibrating I will be unable to do so / vice versa with optimization?

You can optimise attributes after recalibrating others on the same items, yes. It's worth mentioning that optimisation is very expensive and should really be saved for late endgame items that are almost perfect

heroic does require smart play and a decent build, if you dont want to struggle. challenging is still great for farming gear too.

get your self a good build through challenging 1st before trying heroic. LOTS of builds listed in the pinned spreadsheet, if not sure what you want.

You dont need max stats, you need the right stats.

An otherwise perfect sniper with swap speed is infinitely worse than that same sniper at half rolls with the correct stats.

If you want to farm heroic straight away. Get 2 Hana u 1 wyvern 3 empress with technician. Roll for skill damage and skill haste and hide at the back with turret and drone.

It's boring as balls. But will farm heroic easily for what you want. Can be badly rolled also for this purpose.

I run 5 directive challenging resource convoys (more XP per hour since they can be done in 30 second or so). Believe it or not, I run a 4 piece rigger build with waveform holster & Wyvern chest with kinetic momentum, drone & turret, and Gunner specialization. The gunner gives me ammo every 60 seconds making pistolero no issue, and 10% armor on kill making fragile armor no issue, and with the rigger pack cancelling skills means zero cooldown and makes scavenged skills no problem. My XP grinder, have gotten 18 levels in an hour before but I have SSD as well... @ruby tiger

13 levels and 10 mil XP an hour is a breeze...

Question, why is CP 4 Directives advocated for often when it comes to targeted looting in Open world? Reflecting the point in case where you'd take some time to clear them as a new end game player and just got a skill build.

Asking this by comparison against farming 3 named bosses in Summit 90th floor and returning to lobby and other methods in general

Also, RNG finally lucked out on me, got myself a memento! None of the stats are maxed out sadly..

Yep, that's what I had in mind. Also much easier to RNG myself to the max I assume, since it means having 4 piece of gear that only need 2 stats to be maxed out

well given that you dont want to be 6 red, and chest/backpack will be high end, you want 2 hunters fury pieces to roll with natural crit damage so you can roll the core atribute to armor

because your backpack will probably be memento

and your chest should be either fenris for chameleon, sokolov for smg or ceska

shotguns usually lack attachment slots for crit so going on a hunch i think ceska is more valuable for shotgun mains than badger

@coarse saddle either flashbang grenades so your enemies are confused or riot foam from the chem launcher, you can use the grenades with that effect as well... id suggest using the talent that allows you to cook your grenades allowing them to detonate in a shorter period of time...

The riot foam will hold them in place so you can spam headshot them and they can't attack you

The flashbang will frenzy them

if you are using a dps build, bring a rev hive and turret (machine gun); turret draws some aggro and the hive gives you a second chance

you can also lure them to a place with more cover 😅

"you are died while weakened"... My rev hive recently revived me....and the captain failed to revive me ...

Fallen crane sweet spot is from north side with no minigun could hit. But i was sandwiched.

Yesterday ... While i was res convoy farming.... I was died and reviver hive has activated...and you know what ... One of the black tusk lower rank soldier come to the reviver hive and shoot it till exploded.......i was stunned speechless

I think any map is good as long as you know where their spawn point. So you just stand in front of the spawn point and spam those weapon and hit the head till explodes

Mission is good. Usually easier to spot the spawn point like lincoln memorial.

That challenge is quite tricky. You need to be patience. Waiting enemies line up, at least one already reanimated and you kill non reanimated in the head with hope the green splash would hit the animated enemies

I do hate that challenges. But i decided not too look into it. Just do regular chores like farming targeted loot, doing mission or take over cps. And before you know it, its done by itself as long as you always aim the head

If you want it to be easier is hyenas rusher. She always runs in pack

kind of the same, exceot you dont rally have subclasses like oyu do in destiny. your skills are entirely customizable to your liking, builds are a lot more in depth (so like, not just 1 specific exotic or something) the "ultimate" is just a cool special weapon you unlock after completing the story (kind of like unlocking stasis in beyond light), as like a reward type of thing.

Welcome aboard. I never play destiny 2. But i think division 2 is for you who likes grinding and making a whole lot of builds based on every gear you collected. Its sandbox for its gearing and its attributes

The enemies are harder when you have party

And it grows exponentially

Especially you got high lvl guy in your party ...it will be hell

While the high lvl guy just laughing at you constantly died

As long as you have time and patience. You will be survived in div 2

And have good build...with good build, regardless your lvl, you should do okay

Yes we have gear upgrades....or more likely custom attributes and talents

But mostly and thankfully, the best upgrade options are unlocked at the highest lvl which is lvl 40

So for story mode, you could finished it with any gear you can find

While learning core attributes, minor attributes, talents, brand set, gear set

Every settlements had its own mision that upgrade the qualify of life of its residents

And for you too actually

If you purchase wony, you will have option to lvl boost to new york (you will boosted to lvl 30, with decent weapon as starter)

And your character will be locked to new york until you finish dealing with keener

When you finish your mission on dc usually you have good gear rating at average 500+. And when you stepped on NY all of that would be wasted right away
