I was thinking of getting back into this game. I played this game a lot at launch, grinding the hell out for that eagle bearer gun. I had an really good build. IIRC unbreakable and berker build were meta. And then they changed the loot system and all of builds become useless and I quit the game. Now i just want to get back into it, mostly solo. Is it worth it to play it again? Without the dlc.

Remember to matchmake for challenging if you don't have a good build or you are still learning the game

Run Division 2 on PC. While running it:
Open Task Manager. Expand Task Manager. Under details tab, Right-click on EasyAntiCheat and click the Set CPU affinity option, deselect all, except CPU Core 1.

Hsd doesn't crit but it can crit. So if you can land headshot go for it as its a small increase in damage in a crit build.

This is quite the understatement I feel like, it's worth checking both because I've seen situations where either one is more/less stable (though I figure 12 would overall still be less often the more stable one)

It really depends on setup, so far from what I've noticed the more recent the setup is, the more benefit, some setups gain like practically no benefit

My DX12 lows are 98% higher on DX12 vs DX11, almost doubling

Which is imo the most noticeable aspect of gaming for many, what's the use of X amount of many FPS if it very frequently drops low in form of micro stutter

My average FPS is "only" 18-20% higher on DX12 but 1% lows are over 50% better and 0.2% lows are around 100% increased

And thus for me, on DX11 I'd need to substantially reduce graphics settings to have a similar experience, and not even 100% sure if it fully gets there (as DX11 has a much uglier CPU overhead, which is for a decent part graphics setting agnostic)

for reference, aggregate from several runs each, with exact same graphics settings just toggling DX12 on/off (and clearing shader cache entirely between setting changes), and the difference was also not all that smaller on my previous setup

So definitely worth trying imo to keep it at 12 if possible
Maybe not everyone cares as much about it though, thought the difference put in data points says a lot at least

So, as far as I understand, get to level 30 and finish the campaign, then get to World Tier 5 by clearing strongholds up to Tidal Basin. I'm already doing all side missions, projects etc. as I go, so with WT5 unlocked I should be gtg for WONY then, do I understand correctly?

Questions about the friend referral program

So I recently recruited a friend into Division 2 and did 3 main missions with him but found out that he needs to join me and complete 3 missions in my world to get my Stinger LMG. Problem is that I'm in post-WoNY and he can't join my lobby since he's completely fresh. Here are my questions:

If both of us create an alt agent in our account and play 3 missions on our respective lobby, would that count towards the 3 missions clear requirement and reward our mains or are the rewards character specific?

How long does the recruit/rookie status (the one that buffs your exp gain while a vet in in the group) last?

Higher difficulty and directive as you can handle with build.
With upcoming global event you can also farm stars to buy exotic caches as well.
Weekly exo projects across 4 agents as well (if you havent yet, make the alt agents available for 4x shd/projects)

If you've already done the weekly invasion you won't usually find any more black tusk open world activities in DC, so head to NY instead, there are usually a few dotted around

It's a bit of a mix I believe, I've seen some people saying some of the more recent exotics have to come from a cache first. Not sure exactly which ones though, only the last couple of seasons I suspect.

Agreed. Fastest way is probably convoys for now though (with as many directives as possible). Next season they're rebalancing the rewards a bit to try and make different activities roughly equal in xp gain per minute, so 'what you find most fun' will be best answer.

take a look at the spreadsheet pinned in #td2-build-advice to get some build ideas, then farm the pieces in challenging Countdown - gearset builds like Strikers or Hunters Fury are pretty easy to put together and very effective.

Faraday perk from technician helps with EMPs/disrupt alot. Guessing disruption resistance would help as well but can't comment, don't use it. As far as hacking by the enemies goes, not sure if any ways to prevent it and hopefully no teammates are using damaging skills like drones/turrets during those encounters.

in open world? whichever one you can complete more efficiently honestly. if it takes you 3x longer to complete heroic than it does challenging then no bueno. but xp wise you'll want the highest difficulty and most directives you can handle comfortably and in a timely manner. try comparing how long it takes you to complete two identical activities in those two difficulties and judge off that.

I think on longer term the biggest aspects of it is just more tokens (if you do them successfully) and more fun if you're into the challenge

I do believe though that to have a good success rate with it, you pretty much have to inspect the group (or even lead one so it's up to you) to make sure there's not many people getting carried
On challenging it's borderline literally anything goes

There's a little meter down by your UI at the base of the screen, once it's full an enemy drops some.

You have to kill certain enemies or enemies under certain conditions to fill up that bar, your teammates also contribute to filling the bar up but by a smaller amount, fills up faster if you use the right specialization for what it is you’re doing.

For instance if running a dps build and you want crossbow ammo use status effect skills such as riot foam Chem launcher or stinger hive because the bar fills up from enemy kills under status effects

Ones like technician where you have to destroy enemy electronics and skills is just impractical for constant use of specialization weapons

Countdown and summit are both good for farming as they let you set your own target loot. Open world is more varied and interesting though. Higher difficulties means higher chance of exotic drops.

Oh and this week make sure you turn on golden bullet in the season menu, you earn stars that you can spend on exotic and named caches.

Plus it makes the game way easier if you're playing a gun based build
