They are used in some situations, such as the lady death for speedrunning, but high ends will be better most of the time

If you want a specific exotic, I’d go with countdown

Bleed at its very best is ~150k damage a tick vs say Fire can reach 1.2 mil a tick (at very best)

bleed in div 2 is more to get something else going on builds, rather than the thing to go for in itself, its handy for stuff like running sadist or ridgeway chest, or as the starter for OD, but not a goal to go for in itself, as fire is just better for instance for dmg based CC

Rifles can do better damage in some situations but require constant clicking, LMGs drive enemies into cover which slows you down (and can't be used with a shield), pistols and MMRs take better aim to use effectively. SMGs and shotguns are better at short range but fall off very rapidly at midrange so less versatile than ARs.

here are things you need to change if you wanna make it work as a headhunter build

1. Get rid of the ceska backpack with wicked. find a providence with vigilance
2. no blue cores, go full red cores
3. get pieces with headshot damage rolls on all pieces, as high as you can. you need to hit 150 hsd
4. get an m870 with pummel, with DTTOC
5. GET A REGULUS

you can choose to go full headshot build and run headhunter or full crit build with something else
not halfway on both

for likely around 15 hours

but you can pretty easily fill them up over time, just do the weekly invasions, daily and weekly project, the daily bounties, heroic control points, all those give extra spec points alongside lvling up

you need 162 spec points to max out a spec.
162 / 3 = 54 level ups
with convoys on challenging 4 directives its possible to get at least 25 levels in one hour on good convoy spawn rng.
so its entirely possible to maxout 1 specialization within a span of say 3-4 hours solely on powerleveling via convoys

achieving that possibility however, will rely entirely on how you approach it.
do you do it solo? what build will you run on that spec? how competent are you? etc...

Eh, once you start finding gear with stat bonuses, the first bonus is the core

It's always either red (weapon damage), blue (armor), or yellow (skill tier)

But red cores on low level items give such a small bonus (eg 1.5% weapon damage) that they're not worth running. Blue and yellow ones scale much better.

you can toggle an invaded mission to non-invaded (and back again) from the mission options, look for a 'toggle mission mode' prompt. Only works with missions that are already part of the current week's invasion though (and for activating manhunt missions from previous seasons).

currently, if you didnt get it on last seasons reward track, then it will not be farmable with targeted loot, it can still drop from exotic caches and full randomly from the non targeted normal loot drops, once you have recieved one you can farm for it after as it then gets added to your exotic pool

one thing you could try, if you have a clan or buddies that have had it before and have it in their exo loot pools, then if you farm it together then they can drop it for you by sharing it, even if you dont keep it and share it back if they really want the exo component, once you have had it once you can TL farm it yourself.
