you can just farm the regular dz boxes. the credits from those go straight to your inventory, so they're safe and you won't have to extract anything

There's two raids and some other modes that are fun. Work on getting to world tier 5. Get your SHD level to 1000 and do the upgrades.

but if you don't find the key for the floor 63 chest, for example, you'll still get the piece from floor 66

once you get all 5 pieces there's a few more steps before you can actually craft it - you have to finish floor 100, then kill some rogues and hunters and gather a few other pieces of gear (including the 'Zero Fs' chest piece, so keep a spare if you find one)

your using the demo launcher? demo launcher is only scaled by explosive damage, which means you dont need crit or weapon damage technically. But (outside of golden bullet) you'll still be using other weapons or skills, so build around what else you'll use when not using the launcher. So you could do a yellow tips with explosive skills for example

Good place to start is the pinned spreadsheet in #td2-build-advice Lots of tried and tested builds put together by some of the most knowledgeable folks in the community. Most have multiple builds, that’s part of the fun in this game. Find something that fits your basic play style and farm away.

Also, with targeted loot in open world, Summit and now Countdown, it has actually never been easier to farm for stuff. There's some odd rolls that will require a little more farming and some unicorns that will require a lot more farming, but for the majority of "meta" builds, that's not really an issue.

Reason is that every time you level up your lower level gear is obsolete. So wasted money/materials on buying/crafting.

Plus all of your content is in story mode so it's super easy. Just throwing on the current level drops should get you through it fine.

Can anyone explain how the stagger mechanic works? For example, if I'm headshotting an NPC with full stacks striker (1mil damage +) they do not always stagger however a D50 hitting similar damage does seem to stagger them consistently.

Is NPC stagger DMG based? Or is there an underlying stagger mechanic (or multiplier) tied to certain weapons?

extracting contaminated gear gives dz xp per item extracted, doesn't take too long to farm up if you extract everything (don't break anything down to dz credits as it counts a stack as a single item). PvP still prob quicker though.
