re: Exposed cover-to-cover. While you have an active bar of the Event, when performing a cover to cover, you will "discharge" the pulse.

if you mean field proficiency caches, they only start dropping after you hit season level 100 (assuming you're at the level 40 endgame). If you mean the apparel caches, they're a bit bugged at the moment and often don't show up until you restart the game.

To farm Coyotes Mask, it's pretty much the same as farming 90% of loot in div2:
Targeted Loot: [Mask], then either Directives or Countdown.

No need to do JTC or any specific mission, just farm it wherever has Mask TL, or Summit/Countdown.

the Hunters really aren't that hard, just takes the know-how and a bit of patience.
You can even do them on "normal" and still get the reward.

Just look up a guide, "nothingbutskillz" on youtube has some prominent ones for each set of Masks.

Are you playing in a group or solo? If in a group, it's possible one of your team got the final blow. Test it out in the range. You can use the switch on the far right wall to do damage to yourself and then kill one of the targets. You should get armour on kill.

you should use lefty especially if you're running opportunistic as a healer as lefty is a shotty and procs it

If you're having trouble with Heroic (that's OK, it's a learning curve all of us go through), it's better to do Challenging with a few directives instead. It's better to do resource convoys on a lower difficulty than to struggle with it on heroic and then take a long time.

Swapping out that Lady Death for a high-end (gold) SMG with dtooc as the 3rd Attribute and a good Talent will significantly boost your effectivness.
I'd suggest Strained, maybe Fast Hands or Flatline if you have Technician on with the laser.
mpx/mp5/cmmg are 3 good starter choices.

OK, so one thing you have to always keep in mind with HF is that running down the middle is always going to get you in trouble. Your shield (no matter how many blue cores you have) is only a temporary damage mitigation device and can't "tank" for you. As far as possible, keep a wall to one side and peek around corners of cover so only one or two enemies can hit you. If you're in the middle of a big crowd, you will get nailed by enemies behind you. I'm no expert on this yet and am still learning my way to being an advanced user but this is the advice I got on this server and it's helped a lot.

And what Rivens said about the gear. You need to kill with high burst damage so the disorient can hit the other enemies and give you a moment to breathe without being hit as much.

with targeted loot (TL) you can farm for specific brands, on the main overworlds maps (dc/ny) there is a button promt at the bottom to turn that overlay on, and in countdown and summit you can set your TL to whatever you want it to be for yourself,
with tl you will get more of that brand, and you just farm to put together the best you can, and keep in mind low good stats are better than high wrong stats.

and every piece you get you can transfer one stat from your library over to fix 1 thing on the gear with recalibration, and you can also optimise the piece if its close enough to the top to max it out, recalibration is pretty cheap but optimisation is pretty expensive

also, if you get stuck on anything you dont understand, you can always ask, there is a bunch of stuff to learn, and weve al been new to it at some point, so dont worry about having questions, we have all been there

there are none that are so essential to be needed at all cost, but there are a few that find allot of use for specific reasons, but the most common build, the red chc/chd build basically uses no exos.
but for some of the exotics that find quite some use:
regulus- headshot HH builds
coyote- chc/chd builds, especially gearsets
scorpio- good cc and essential for eclipse
memento- good survivability piece and used for some bruisers
capacitor- for turret drone builds
vile- for EP builds
BTSU gloves- healers

The current Manhunt final mission isn't active yet, if that's what you're looking for.

Don't forget to check the effective range too. High DPS is not as helpful if the range is 14 metres vs 22 metres (on the MPX).

I just rolled out another character and finished the Keener mission. But I don't have any points in the specialisations on this one. Do I need to do all the damn "research" again for the new character?

if that is with the year 1 bundle then i had that as well, only way i got points is by leveling up so idk honestly

the " research info" project only unlocks the spec, doesnt give you points.
