predictably there's a fairly large outcry about it so it would not surprise me if they adjusted their policies

1. its related to an EU legislation (GDPR article 5 recital 39)
2. it reportedly only happens to those with no games purchased
3. Ubisoft claims they do not delete accounts under 4 years of age for this reason (occasionally 6 months according to anecdotal reports)

my personal understanding is that they dont delete accounts with either:

-no games purchased with 6 months inactivity
-games purchased with 4 years inactivity

I'd also like to point out they do give notice 30 days in advance prior to deleting accounts. The person you linked to an article about didn't even realize he got an email about this. Ubisoft came out with a statement saying this was an unusual situation and didn't go with regards to their system in-place.

While i'm not that bothered about the practice, my paranoia had kicked in getting a mail saying my account would be deleted. It's a instant phising alert in my head after getting them daily for years for other services, and they start getting pretty good atleast the paypal ones.

I wish that Ubisoft would open Division 1 to modding as they did with Farcry 5 so the community could create content since the game is close to dead but much more enjoyable than Div 2, get monthly votes to add a map/dungeon/mission to the game.

Sometimes I think it would have been better if Ubisoft just stuck to D1 and of course never made D2. I think it would have been cool if they just kept adding new content, new gear, did some balancing, add the targeted loot feature, and etc. There’s some games that are as old as D1 and are still thriving, because they continue to make content for it. Like Dead by Daylight for example. Now I’m not saying D2 is an awful game at all, but many will agree that D1 was a lot more fun to play

Yeah expanding the original map, reversing the downgrade and upgrading graphics, letting the community being involved to create mods that could be implemented, i mean Skyrim is really old and looks insane with all the mods released.
A game nowadays can't live only by its developpers, involving the community and making the game in a path we would all want to see, could only go positively.

Left for dead 1 and 2 are alive due to the moddimg community as well

And those games are old and they are still kicking

Fallout is another good example

Yep, i would love to see a "Division 1 Plus" version of the game with a trailer showing the game working as it should have been in the E3 gameplay demo.

• No more "sponge" NPCs taking 10 magasines of ammo without dying but they much more damage and make players having to be much more carefull of the way they play together.
• No more cosmetic caches but % of drops on each bosses
• No more world events as they are today, wich is the fastest way to get to tier gear, but it would come from % of drop of bosses wich will make even high level player replay some dungeons/raids with newcomers
• World events to prevent invasions of manhattan from a brand new faction that comes from outside of the map (bronx for example) and played by players.
• Make all the factions playable
• Factions war going live on the map where each faction fight to conquer a district, giving them a PVE bonus advantage and unique gear for their faction
• Hardcore server where you're in permanent survival mode

Thinking your idea does not suit the Division World setting, and claiming that div1 is flawless are 2 very different things.
Your idea is bad for div, and div1 could've use some tweaks before launch, but there's no way it's every getting them now.

It's been 7 years, it's time to let it go.

Plagiarising is 100% fine if you don't publish/show people it. But after a while you'll learn how to write your own.

helping someone level up on HC recently and ran that mission on story mode (they needed the xp), and managed to kill the hunter - just have to use Faraday to make yourself shock immune (and have a whole load of dps).
Obvs Keener had access to the same shock ability but made sure never to use it to actually kill us. He was kind like that.

Basically. But what made them cool initially was there anonymity. No one new there origin and why they were killing the only people thought to be helping. I also was infatuation with the sheer craziness is it to wear a mask like that to combat (you dont) . I wanted it be more than something I just wore in a game. So I shifted my focus to PvP. Finding agents at landmarks and extracts. Calling them in to see who takes the bait. I was horrible at first and embarrassed myself on multi occasion. I was able to use it as fuel. Then it was just my own self rightness nerd history after that. My point is that it's not so much just the hunters and there mask out right that gave them value for me. But how it can be anyone. I didn't belive in myself at the time. It's silly ik, but we all have demons to kill. This is how I killed one of mine. I hope I can help someone do the same. Your not alone.

Snowdrop is one of the best Ubi engine that Massive made. Ubi actually use Snowdrop even more compared to its other engines for games. That’s why Massive is getting so much love from Ubi.

Ubi looked at Massive. And told them to support Div2. Couple years ago, when Massive Devs went silent. One of main reasons because they were working on upcoming games behind closed doors. Another reason because the playerbase faded away drastically.

Look at 2042. It went through development hell, especially towards the end of development with the dev team. The left over dev team full fledged fixed the game for entire year to recover. Yea it got so much hate. I still play it since day one (yes, I pre ordered the expensive version of the game). Look at 2042 now, most active battlefield game, it gets a lot of love. Sure hate will always come and go. (That’s every game). They even continue another full year support for the game for content and stuff.

Tbh, PC for Div2 have the most issues. Overall for me. I experienced way less problems with crash and ect. Even with dx12 enabled at max out everything in graphic settings. It’s very rare for me to interact with the situation.

It's not that you can't swear, the server is just auto-modded by both bots and discord's automod, and some swear words get caught in the filters of more nasty stuff

"kill yourself" or "kys" is an example of this, in the game's context where you just mean something like "you can kill yourself to get unstuck" is alright, but it can have way more disruptive and nasty connotations, so it's bet to just not have it as you can use alternatives to express game contexts

As someone who has been in US County Jail, for a non-violent crime by the way, most people who haven't been to jail or prison, don't actually know what services ARE offered, they only go by what they see on the internet and news media.

Did you know in State prison, you can actually make money for your own usage while you serve your sentence and increase the chances of reducing your sentences by offering up work force time to repay society? You know the guys you typically see keeping highways neat and clean? State and County Inmates are about 80% of that work force. Landfills ? about 65% of the workforce. If you just happen to hit the Federal Prison system, you can even work as a cook and other jobs you wouldn't think would be available to Federal Inmates. its not all doom and gloom in the US System, the Media just portrays it that way as a "scared straight" tactic. Federal time, is actually the easiest, unless you are a ADX Super Max or Max Security inmate because you did something violent or domestic terrorism, then the hell with you.

You actually DO have access to rehabilitation services for drugs or mental health, US Prisons have Medical Wards for those who are in need of dedicated mental health and even physical health issues. What you DONT have access to is luxuries, sure other countries treat their inmates differently, as each nation has an entirely different ideology on how to deter crime. Some nations are soft, others are hard.

When I spent my time in county jail, i was actually offered mental health quite frequently, because I live with Aspegers which is High Functioning Autism, I was kept isolated from General Population and housed with other Mental Health Individuals. Those who pose an actual risk to others are isolated from population outright in protective custody to prevent conflicts and other attacks.

Personally i spent almost a year in jail fighting my charges through the courts, but a few difficulties kept rearing their heads. so be it, eventually I was given time served, my record was marked as such, a year later, i still have all my civil rights including firearms.

some crimes simply do not deserve to see the light of day under freedom ever again, i agree with this. Some crimes are just stupid and should never have become a law to start with, thats where politics and money comes into play, the hell with those charges!

I'd be okay with it if it was like Rhulk, where the area is large enough for well to not be needed generally and you have enough time after the boss hits you to regen before he does something else, but with crota he'll smack you (even with 100 res and melee resist/arc resist/concussive dampener you are 1 shot away from death) and a half second later he'll smack again, killing you. Well is needed and crota just does too much damage.

RTX 3060. Which seems rather silly on an i7-3770 machine, but my GTX 970 died, I wanted a replacement with at least 8 GB VRAM (because lots of games are complaining about just 4 GB these days), and this one was, well, relatively cheap and has 12 GB so shouldn't need upgrading for quite some time.
And now at least I can run at 100% rendered resolution on my 2k5 monitor, rather than the scaled-up 60% I was using before. (I need to run full-screen windowed so I can switch between programs without huge pauses, and I'm not particularly keen on non-native resolutions on LCD panels anyway.)

i remember playing csgo at like 40fps on my crappy laptop with an i3 4030U or something so its definitely more than 10 years

Yeah, I'd already figured that out. But do you see the other obvious thing I have to replace if I replace my CPU with something faster?

Yeah. I'm running the third fastest (non-overclocked) CPU that you can do on LGA 1155, and the other two are less than 3% faster. So it's replace CPU, RAM and motherboard as well. Getting into the $500 range, there.

have you considered upgrading to something a bit lower tier like a 2060 or even a 1660ti

so with the spare money maybe you can get some slightly less dated hardware that also mixes better

That is a good question. And yes, but the savings were pretty minimal. It definitely would not have saved me enough to replace mobo/CPU/RAM.
I paid about $250 for the 12 GB RTX 3060 (I bought it used). The best I could have done short of that for something with at least 8 GB of VRAM was close to $200. The $60-or-so difference wasn't enough to cover even a new mobo, much less a new CPU and RAM as well.

So I reckoned I'd live with the current mobo (spending $25 to go from 16 GB to 24 GB of RAM, which has helped), and get a card that's good for years (I hope!) and deal with the CPU/mobo/RAM upgrade in a year or two.

No, there's no way a laptop can match what I have now, at least not a cheap one. My CPU/mobo is more than ten years old, and it's at about the level of a three-year-old gaming laptop. And that's just CPU; in terms of graphics there's no comparison.

Trust me, I'd love a laptop; I live in a 25 sq. m Japanese apartment. :-)

No, it's not weird at all when you consider the power restrictions. My friend's laptop is an i7-8xxx, but a mobile one, and it's basically the same speed as my i7-3870, but uses a third to a quarter the power. (25 W TDP vs. my 75 W TDP.) That's the thing about mobile stuff; they tend to give them similar part numbers to the current generation of desktop stuff, but they're generally about a third the performance.

i mean tbf that gen 8 is a bit dated too and you can easily get either an i5 10k or r5 4800h on budget laptops but i am not very educated on the topic so ill stop

the power limitations tho,i was always under the impression that only laptop gpus are severely hampered due to it and cpus are always approximately the same so this is new info for me

But that's the issue. The i5 10k you get on a laptop is nothing near the i5 10k you get on a desktop. Like, one third the power.

It's in another channel., but @split axle has an i5-8xxx in his laptop, and it's almost exactly the same Passmark benchmark value as my i7-3870. (Maybe @split axle can mention what it is again and I'll go grab the Passmark values from the database.)
