A trick is to stay on one side of the room so enemies would only spawn on the opposite side

I almost did it on my first try. That mission sucks ass. Got it in 16 something on the 2nd. Had to use LD as crutch.
18 Minutes is barely enough for a mission that has you running constantly from point-to-point, NPC-to-NPC. It's annoying as hell, and so are the enemy spawns.
It's somehow worse than Pathway Park, which even has an escort section lasting like 2 minutes.

highest damage buff in the entire game to the point people can easily run several blues and stomp heroic on damage
can use the backpack talent with the highest damage with basically no drawbacks when using a shield because of the constant source of bonus armor
it makes the ACS deal damage
its only drawback is mitigated by clicking the head once or using a single specialization that will also further buff the shield everyone uses to make a double layer of defense for vigilance

The problem with that line of thought, is that the AI in this game does not advance itself in any way. It's following a set of predetermined commands based on actions that you as a player take.
For you to be as strong as the enemies on the highest difficulty, the AI would need to be of the machine learning kind. Constantly adapting to what the player might/is going to do.
That is not the kind of AI this game has. The kind of AI this game has is the exploitable kind. Tough on paper, but easy to crack in reality.

expertise level cap was always meant to be 20 so people getting above that was the main problem
but because the fix had to be applied to everyone basically everyone got a cache

It's an LMG Exotic that never needs to reload.
"Specialisations" are what you unlock once you reach Lvl 30 and complete the base game.
They're kinda like classes in games that you can swap any time.
