Donate items or use them. Preferably donate junks.

When theres loot on the ground, theres option to loot as junk, then you can go to Tinkering station from inventory by pressing M (assuming theres no enemy around) then go to expertise, then donate all junk.

If the junk stays in your inventory that means the item is already proficient and thus you can deconstruct it. Rinse and repeat until you're proficient in 425 different items. Good Luck~

I'm absolutely plush for exotics. Sitting at just over 1k. But I never really bothered about maxing expertise as it wasn't overly needed....even on legendary. It was bearable during the event, but the amount of printer filaments it takes now is dumb. I hope they address this somewhow.

You need 45 components to fully expertise one item. You get an exo cache here and there from projects, can buy one exo cache after 2-3 Countdown runs, you get one guaranteed after a heroic Retaliation (which you need to build up first). Priority Objectives can have long dry phases too. Not rewarding at all. The exo item/component rewards have to get bumped up by quite a bit

Expertise used to be an endgame mechanic for bored players back then to keep us busy. Building a new, also very grindy, system on top of that is just bad design

The story is butchered as hell. You can do the manhunts in order and there are over 100 comms locked behind Descent (which explain things a little AFAIK) and as of t his season you can unlock those from Retaliations too

in this game there's really no "best anything" it all matter on what your build is and there's usually several choices

like for me on a particular LMG build i go with Stoner/GR9 with frenzy. stacking up crit chance since the build per firing over time builds up crit damage. name escapes me atm, haven't been playing div 2 lately 😹 other choice would probably be measured, killer or even strained

If it may help, during proficiency X3 I did in between 150 and 200 CD. I found out i crashed way less from bug chests when:

• someone else opens them,
• I'm looking in an other direction and pick up loot without looking at the gear,
• I rebooted the game every 10 CDs or so.

I had a lot of crashes before doing so and remember may be one after doing those 3 things. And every countdown I did all the chests where opened. The known bugged ones too

generally the point is to get the rewards at the end of retal; yes you can loot the chests in the CP, but the gear is the same pool as heroic open world, so just grab the loot NPCs drop, where convenient and keep moving. As a group.

It's the kill squads and end rewards that really matter imo; pretty much everything else can be ignored.

If by hard mode you mean actual hard difficulty, don't waste your time. Do minimum heroic and farm something like floor 90 on repeat. Or better just run countdown/retaliations/prios.

Only the second set of Hunters. The first ones only give the tags and optim mats.

right, so up to until i get the angel mask, i had 7 out of 8 ivory keys, i took down angel, got the mask and.........7/8 keys
