you should be able to hit pretty significant numbers with striker. your chd number is a bit low atm.
as you mentioned, youll want to be close to 60% chc, but you really want to make sure you are not over 60% on crit chance. this can be determined by temporarily removing a chance mod/piece and checking stats screen. anything that is over can be made crit damage instead.
always want crit chance mods on weapon first, then use gear rolls to get it close to 60.
make sure all you gear is rolled with crit attributes, and use ceska chest with obliterate + coyote mask or grupo as other piece. striker bag is a significant damage boost so make sure its used.

Directives and challenging or above are the two most important factors in farming stuff, assuming you are on the right Targeted Loot.

Once you've done that, you've negated the RNG as much as you can, and the rest is up to luck.

you see when you pick the difficulty in Summit, you can select the other menu, it lists 10 options that do things like remove your minimap (Fog of War), only let you get ammo when you get a pistol kill (Pistolero), etc, etc.
There's also 5 of them in the Open World/missions maps, it's recommended to have a few on at all times, for the xp bonus if nothing else.

You do not recall correctly.

What Directives do is tweak the chance that an enemy will drop "Targeted Loot" (and a bit of extra xp per) and in that pool for TL is Exotics.

How TL works is that it's a chance for an enemy to have an additional drop on top of what they normally would.

Once you finish the DLC, you gain a special item that allows you to effectively "infinitely level", although gear+guns remain capped at Lvl 40.
For the first 1000 of these infinite levels, you gain minor points in stats, like crit chance, ammo, etc.

SHD level is not about how ”good” you are in the game, it's about watch points you can spend on materials in order to rise expertise level, gear/weapons upgrades and optimizations etc. If you want to make a build you can do it in a matter of minutes, not in days/weeks spent for farming gear and weapons needed

Actually the game has that, you just "answer the call" or "call for backup" and you can join random people to play with.

the trick if you're calling for backup, is to re-call each time someone joins. Can get a full team of 4 real quick.

Yeah exactly, that's really not the kind of game this is, worlds are hosted not just kinda "mmo walkabout".

call-for-backup is incredibly fast, it's basically 3 clicks from no people to people. And you don't need to wait around. And also works in missions, open world, even during story missions and places like Coney Island, etc.

Apparently what the issue is that if your group is set to "open", it's counted as always available for it.
