My first run in DH was in discovery mode, it was an experienced guy in my clan teaching a bunch of noobs (inc me) how to do it. He pointed out what would be different in normal mode along the way. It seemed like a good way to teach people, no idea why this concept bothers you or is hard to understand.

I kind of somewhat get why the overwhelming consensus here is that discovery is not the same at all since so many mechanics are missing so you don't learn anything, and while I haven't done discovery before normal, it still seems to me that depending on the person it can be be useful
It might be easier to get into it, so it could be some days nothing vs discovery, and helps to ease someone with social anxiety too as they feel like they've been inside already at least

Also for example for me, I like to learn visually and just seeing the place and layout helps a lot vs being in first time and someone saying who's on B or A or yellow or go up or down, it's just nice to be able to visually check all that out and then in the normal run after when they call those things out I have a mental image of where it is which saves time and confusion (ever run I usually see at least couple inexperienced people wander around not knowing where the places are and also might not want to speak up about it)

Plus, depending on how you do the runs, on normal you might have a group that goes for oneshot tactics and then you still don't have any mechanics + also in a lot of groups I've sometimes experienced, the experienced people might not delegate anything but the simplest roles for new people so you still don't have anything to do (and multiple times when I've tried asking them questions to learn the more complicated mechanics so I'd also learn and be able to do them later, I've been told "nah just don't worry about it we'll handle it" repeatedly)

But if you have to make the choice between the two, or if one has nothing against it, there's no need to go discovery first of course
It's just I don't think it's as much of a sin as some people make it out to be, if it eases you into it, as long as you know its shortcomings

Also it's common in MMOs that you do the lower (not necessarily lowest, but still lower) difficulty raids first, the high difficulty stuff might not even be released yet, and it gives you ideas of what to expect at a very basic level from the layout and such to then build upon for the more challenging and mechanics heavy version, never had any issues with someone doing the most simplest LFR difficulty get complacent or something and then struggle to build upon it on higher difficulties, people who did it on lower difficulties (even if there were practically no mechanics present) often did far better than those who've never done any difficulty of it before

LMGs are good they just need a certain playstyle. And for negotiators you want to have line of sight… same goes for LMGs but usually some nerd with Scorpio tank is drawing all enemies to one side so bear that in mind

If I recall Scorpio debuffs stack well according to people I’ve raided with but 3 Scorpios does nothing for dps. The reason why I think haz pro enabled is a good countermeasure is it literally shows you Scorpio has no effect outside of shock
