Optimization and recalibration are two different things

Optimization has a heavy cost and will increase a the percentage of a stat already rolled onto an item. Recalibration will slot in a stat on that item that is already not in that item in place of a different one. The optimization symbol looks like a circle, the recalibration symbol looks like a wrench

just for damage wise it doesn't account for everything, like talents/buffs active and whatnot don't count so you have to add those on top (but if you compare two builds with it and they both have same buffs then it's a fair comparison still)

This depends once again on the build and what you’re trying to accomplish. Generally speaking, you want headshot damage for Rifles and Marksman Rifles (sniper rifles) and Crit Chance + Crit Damage for anything full-auto; Shotguns can go either way depending on which shotty you’re using.

There’s not really a single, generic “DPS build” or anything that’s a hard set-in-stone meta. Builds are based around which weapons and playstyles you want.

If making a sniper build or headshot rifle build then headshot,

People say that crit dps will outmatch a headshot rifle build but idk so I can’t comment on it

For general purpose tho crit will be strong

Take the hunters in countdown for example, it shouldn’t take that long to kill them, 10-20 seconds at most if people actively shoot them with good dps but it’s usually an issue where they let the hunter get away sometimes at like 1-10 HP and they heal

Best way to get ‘em is headshot, so either foam them and smg them in the head or use something like the Artists Tool rifle or svd / socom sniper rifles with first blood or naked talents (commando named svd) for quick kill from range

Same with rogue agents in pve, either you go full crit with boomerang on rifle or rifleman, or full dps with several ARs and smgs… people try to hit them with shotguns and whatnot which mostly only works with Scorpios but needs stacking to work

So tldr a rifle headshot build with rifleman I find to be a good way to take down hunters and rogue agents quickly or you can use the same technique with a crit build if you wanna land body shots / headshots aren’t consistent

if your hb full stack, and ridgeway have no pulse resistance, then normally you have no chance to lose

Ridgeways is only really helpful for proc'ing things like wicked and sadist. The regen and bleed damage are basically irrelevant

You've really got to have a (level 40) pvp build for conflict otherwise you really stand no chance. And then once you have that there's still a large learning curve on actually how to play it

Exactly, if you don’t know how to strafe or sniping for example, no build is gonna save you. PVP skills are way more important than builds. Builds are the easiest part.

It really depends. The main story is long and drags imo, and the 30 skip will take you to the dlc story which is basically wrapping up td1s story. If you only care about end game content which is where most players are now, then go ahead and skip. Most people will tell you not to though
