If you're trying to maximize your build or get a nice god roll piece/s, then Summit is where you can get that done easily. And you don't have to play legendary to do it either. I get mad god roll drops playing heroic with three or four directives.. 👍🏼🙃🏃🔫💪🏼🎮🐭
After tu 16 comes, countdown might be more viable in this regard. But with the current issue with people kicking players out of their server cuz they don't do what they want them to do, and all the other drama that EIGHT people can bring.

Even ones from the Scorpio. So I always check my countermeasures because it definitely affects how I approach.

It’s different between platforms, but my way of cheesing XP has always been just late joining missions at high volume hours. You get the full xp bonus of a mission if you join before boss fight!

I bought about 7 exotic caches from the countdown vendor! Approx 3-4 boxes from season vendor!
I only received the exotics that i already have and i only have about 5 weapons total... (Blue screen, bullet king, mantis, backfire, capacitor)
I only had a luck with 1 cache that gave me memento back pack!
As for targeted loot... As i've been trying to grind for lady death SMG! I managed to get 3 exotic targeted drops from countdown and all 3 were backfire... In approx 35-40 runs
