I think it's too early to tell. The crashes are random enough that even if you've been playing since the game opened back up and not had a crash yet, that doesn't mean anything has changed.

If you have the WONY dlc then the boost is unlimited. If your not interested in the story just start a new character and it will give you the option to go right to the dlc story, skipping the 1-30 story grind. You'll still need to do the dlc story before doing end game stuff, but it will only be 4ish hours (done casually) vs 20+ that the 1-30 takes.

Others are saying to not skip the 1-30, but my personal opinion is the 1-30 really doesn't teach you much of anything, if anything it just teaches bad build habits.

You can buy WONY at any time (best grab it when it's on sale) but if you use the character boost it gives you, then you'll lose access to any remaining side quests on that character. You can avoid this by working up to WT5 naturally and then heading to NY without using the boost

I had a thing where all my games started crashing after like 10mins of playing. Absolutely nothing helped, like reinstalling Windows, different driver versions etc. then someone suggested replacing GPU PCI-E cable and taking it out of a slot and putting back in (I also cleaned it a bit) and it actually helped. I was speechless

Yeah, crash frequency varies so much that it wouldn't surprise me if people were mis-attributing a lucky spell to completely irrelevant changes they'd made, few people have the patience to log crash volumes over the 100s of hours you'd need to draw a reliable conclusion
