Anyone having slowly degrading performance for division 2? I hadn't performed Nvidia updates for a while things ha been fine and smooth, fast forward 5-6 months FPS average of 90-100 now down to 40-60 fps no changes on my end. Just updated to latest Nivida drivers and it made no difference. I'm at a loss here. Any localized cache or things I could do, to get my game back up to par again? (1080ti gfx btw).

^don't want to gloss over their problem, but this is unrelated. Does anyone use PdaNet and have disconnects? I have unlimited data, my connection is solid, and resort to using my phone connection due to no cable internet where I am and satellite internet, as you probably know, is not good. They aren't too often and sometimes they don't happen. Maybe happens once every hour occasionally. Usually happens near the end of missions or control points. This is the only issue keeping me from doing raids and the like. I also like to play on Heroic so this can be extremely annoying sometimes although, rarely, i manage to live through the disconnect and can continue the mission. My main reason, however, is these disconnects make Hardcore runs impossible and I'm extremely interested in playing Hardcore. Ping me if you have any possible insight to this issue. Thanks.

Last time I had weird lag on Radeon I had to do a repair on the Div 2 install and restarted. If you haven't tried it's worth a shot.

Just opened div2 for the first time in weeks, had the heaviest lock-out I've gotten in all my time playing.
game window froze, wouldn't leave the screen, would not allow any other window to overtake it, including Task Manager. Was kinda amazing actually.

Hello, i just downloaded division 2 on my pc yesterday, it ran fine until now, it keeps doing flashing, blacking out light areas and making random mountains from the ground lol that you can pass through and shoot through, idk what is wrong tbh, is a problem in my pc ? Hey everyone, so im facing the current problem. Haven't played TD2 since january on a specific computer (system requirements etc everything is updated) today when i tried to launch the game, it prompts me to the starting screen with the "caution for epilepsy" warning, freezes after a few seconds and then the whole game shuts down automatically.

Heya, ive tried to complete the pentagon twice today, and both times i get stuck in the underground where u need to loot a doorpass from a boss. Now before this boss spawns, special doors close up, and when the boss spawns after a few mob clearings, he spawns behind these special doors, where he just stands still. We figured a way to kill him, but cant loot the pass that he drops to proceed the mission.

Same here. Since the last maintenance I've been getting occasional stuttering that sometimes puts my game into windowed mode and then freezes it. I saw a reddit post about people having the same issues there. Has anyone found any solution to this?

It is not ‘not easy’ and telling me to cheell whatever that word means, is exactly the kind of indifference that the div2 community has been subjected to for the past 10 months. They have brought onboard a new team out of Bucharest and deployed a patch, seemingly with no test in a dev environment that has broken the game and slowed down load times. It’s a mess.

hey I just bought the game on PC, my specs are:

  • i5-5670k
  • XFX RX480 RS 4GB
  • 16GB DDR3 RAM
    The problem I'm having is making the game completely unplayable.

when I press W to move forward I infinitely move forward and I just have to smash my keyboard to make my guy stop moving. Texting in chat is delayed, so pressing ESC, pretty much every single thing I do in the game is delayed, not in a network lag type of thing, but it just doesn't do anything for a few seconds then I start infinitely moving. I have to spam control to mantle just as i have to spam space to enter cover.

I've turned DX12 on and off
I've turned of vsynce, frame limit.
I've also turned off all 3rd party settings

Game crashed during Rhodes cutscene in WONY dlc upon reaching Haven. Reloaded, and now door says interact, but nothing happens, no cutscene. Cannot progress. Trying Verify Files, but is there any other solution if that doesn’t work?

maybe try dropping framerate limit? I had laggy bits on my old PC caused by the CPU topping out, not quite the same as you but for me reducing FPS limiter to 45 did the trick

I'm going for a platinum trophy on the division 2 right now and there are 2 missions I have left to complete on hard mode for the hard as nails trophy, however these two mission will not start a replay no matter what I do, the missions are: Federal Emergency Bunker and Potomac Event Center, restarting my console does nothing, uninstall and reinstall does nothing, changing difficulties does nothing and I've walked around the area and into the area where the missions should start, and there's no objective that pops up to let me know I'm on a mission, if anyone knows why this is please let me know

Hey guys, question about performance.

Intel 6850 @ 4.4ghz
3080ti on a custom loop

I typically can run the game at 120fps 4k no issues. However every once in a while when I launch the game it will run at 4fps and stutter horribly. It will also happen after an hour or so of gameplay every here and there. If I restart my PC it goes back to normal. This is ONLY happening with this game.

Anyone else experience this or is this a known issue?

Ah, okay the browser is probably the thing doing it. Chrome and Firefox both like to drink memory.
it's entirely possible to have both open, but maybe worth trying that thing yeah.
there's also a program called "ISLC", but that's strictly memory related and may not be useful here. Clear's the cache, sorta.

Hi I have a question, my cousin and I have the same recurring issue with div 2. Game will completely freeze(we can alt tab out) and crash at odd times. Things I did to get Division 2 to mostly work:

  • Ran as Admin, every time
  • Closed every non-essential program except Div 2 (no browsers, no spotify, etc)
  • No Discord. if I need it, I'll run it on my laptop or phone
  • Used Nvidia control panel to cap frame rate to 75, because 60 is a slideshow and 85+ burns a hole in my rtx 2070
  • Disabled all overlays
  • Disabled Windows Defender firewall entirely
  • Disabled Real Time Protection in Windows Defender
  • Disabled my VPN
  • Used a PowerShell input I found on google to enable Ultimate Performance mode in my power settings
  • Enabled DX12 renderer in-game
  • Disable VOIP in-game

I'm not sure which of these worked, but now I can play Division 2 for at least 20 minutes before I get delta'd. Best of luck to you

I would stand by the entrance to the locked part of the dark zone and after shootgunning people say “tho shall not pass!” Only problem with that invisible cloak; I was unable to pick up ammo. Hello, this isn't necessarily an issue in-game but there's this software called Aurora which changes my rgb lighting effects on my keyboard according to the game, it has one for The Division but I'm worried that it might get me banned, this is what it says:

"In order for The Division support to work, you have to apply the Aurora Wrapper Patch for Logitech in order for Aurora to recieve lighting information. Press the "Patch Logitech LED SDK" button to begin the patching process. If you're on Windows Vista and later, you will be asked for Administrator permissions. This should not trigger any anti-cheat, but it should be used at your own risk. P.S This patch applies to ALL Logitech LED supported games, Aurora will work with all Logitech LED supported games.

Any idea on the possibility of being banned from this, it just lights up my keyboard depending on the game.

Something that helped me with my random crashing in div 2 was
Increase your power limit on GPU
Turn down / turn off Gpu over clocks
Make sure in nividia control panel
"Manage 3d settings"
add > the division 2 > Power management mode > adaptive / High performance.

Also, if your card has more then 2 8 pin connectors, i really recommend using 2/3 cables and not using the daisy chain 2 pin extension on one cable.

if none of that works,
Do a Direct driver uninstall, Google "DDU Uninstaller"
Also follow a youtube guide on how to do it properly, and reinstall latest gpu driver.

For me personally, Div 2 is a fantastic game to benchmark your gpu over clocks ^
If you crash, thats a hint of an instable overclock, or not enough power.

I just downloaded it and I installed it but I didn't use a proper uninstaller and just installed it over my previous driver. Will doing so mess stuff up? The graphics card is a RTX 3060

What is your processor and motherboard?

When i first built my system last year, it was on the new AMD processors Ryzen 7 5800X. It would randomly crash when playing Division. By looking at my Event viewer and using google, i had pretty much figured out what to do to my BIOS to keep that from happening.

I want to say there were 3 main things i had to do. I wish I could remember them all, as when I last upgraded my BIOS, and the settings were wiped, it happened again...so i stumbled onto a solution. Again, i really need to document these settings.

one of them, for sure, is to disable the core performance boost. Another one dealt turning off some kind of auto-boosting setting. I had to disable, or use a manual setting here.

If your event viewer is returning an Event 18, WHEA error and you see Cache Hierarchy Error, go this route in your troubleshooting. Once I accepted that it wasn't the game, but a PC hardware config issue, my game runs solid, with very few crashes

Came across a new glitch when starting my game, it's almost like it resets all of my graphics drivers and forces HDR on my main monitor when the game is open. Didn't start happening until this past week and I hadn't even updated to the most recent driver... on top of that Ubisoft is down so I guess that's a sign not to attempt anything tonight.

okay i seem to have rectified my problem anyway. for any body else who may come across it the problem was a bug in the area on the map my character was when i was loading in. he was in the safehouse near the federal reserve. after fighting to get the map open and fast traveling to the base of operations the game immedately sorted itself out.

Like I said ubisoft rolled out a silent patch for The Division 2 and I think the issue has been fixed for most people (emphasis on most people as it isn't yet fixed for everyone)
And to confirm my doubts I ran benchmarks at max settings 3 times and it never went below 59 fps for me

I have solved my issue with Division 2.
Disclaimer: This may not fix your personal issue however it is something to consider if you haven't already

I had my operating system on an SSD that was 6 years old, despite checks everything pointed to that it was healthy and there shouldn't be any issues. However since I reinstalled windows onto another SSD that is only a few months old I have had 0 crashes over the course of a very healthy 5 hour binge session after not being able to play for nearly 2 weeks because I would crash within 5 minutes of playing the game. Facing at least 10+ crashes a night before giving up and hurling abuse at the Ubisoft launcher on my monitor.

I’ve been through hell and back the last 2 weeks trying to solve Division 2 crashing, there are many causes and twice as many “fixes” So I thought I would make a comprehensive list of the fixes in a singular location. Starting with the least invasive fixes.

Disclaimer: Division 2 does crash from time to time because its ubisoft, these fixes are for people who have a more extreme case of constantly crashing every couple of minutes making the game unplayable. Please don’t nuke your drives because of a once a day crash after hours of playtime. Thank you.

In-game fixes to try

  • Switch to DirectX 11 and restart Division 2
  • Turn off Vsync
  • Downgrade graphics settings to Medium

Ubisoft Client & Driver fixes to try

  • Go into settings and turn off the in-game overlay
  • (If running Nvidia GPU) Roll back drivers to last known stable build (466.77)
  • Verify game file integrity
  • Reinstall Division 2

Administrator fixes to try

  • Launch TheDivision2.exe file as administrator
  • Edit properties of 3 .exe files [EACLaunch / TheDivision2 / thedivision2launcher] and click "Disable full-screen optimizations" for all users.
  • While the game is running switch EasyAntiCheat core affinity to only Core 1
  • Reset your Windows 10 (you can keep existing files)

Hardware failure tests/fixes

  • Switch Graphics cards (or from standalone to integrated)
  • Reinstall Division 2 onto another drive (your games drive may be dying)
  • Reinstall Windows 10 onto another drive (your operating drive may be dying)

Sorry I assumed PS4 because of you initial role. If you can't even connect to the website through any browser it sounds like the ubisoft is being blocked. I'm not too familiar with your issue and what fixes are out there that you have tried but I would recommend trying 2 things:

  1. Check your internet security programs (if you have any) and add Ubisoft to the whitelist
  2. Try using a VPN and connect to ubisoft that way

Hello. I wasn't have any issues about blinking screen and wrong resolution terrain mappings etc but it started couple days ago and only way to fix is to quit the game. I had the same issues with drivers from them over the last few weeks on my 1080ti. Had to update to play the BF2042 beta. Came back to Div2 and it was doing the odd screen tearing and white screen. Changing to Dx12 from Dx11 fixed it for me. Just make sure you restart your game after changing as it wont take effect until you relaunch the game.

After about 2 weeks of crashing every 5 minutes or so myself I was able to fix the issue. My Issue was my operating drive was a 5 year old SSD, reinstalled windows onto a new SSD and I've played now for around 25+ hours without a single crash using default settings including DX12.

also bare in mind sometimes it can be all about PC configerations and why some people crash and some people dont
like sure i have a $3500 tower ive had for almost a year now and i rarely crash in Div-2
but someone else can have a $1500 PC thats 2-3 years old

Update on what is causing constant division 2 crashes. I have narrow down the offending program being Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
Having none of them installed = 0 Crashes
Only having upto the 2015 version = Constant crashes

I have yet to test more recent versions but I'm just enjoying the fact that I can play the game but I will do more testing tomorrow

I'd like a larger pool of people reporting what year they have and how often they crash. If this program is the true offender we can replicate the issue and if we can replicate it then Ubisoft can solve the issue just that little bit faster

After some testing I have found that having 2015 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable as your latest and most recent C++ can cause crashes.
Versions such as:
2015-2017
2015-2019
2015-2021
2015-2022

Will not cause crashes and you can have them installed along with the 2015 version.

Myself and a few others have completely uninstalled all of them and then reinstalled Division 2 and we havent crashes in days

Once you get rid of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable your Division 2 will crash on launch or have an error pop up. So you will need to do the following in order:

  • Uninstall every copy of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
  • Uninstall Division 2
  • Restart computer
  • Reinstall Division 2

But I highly recommend you create a system restore point before attempting this as other programs may end up like Division 2 and crash on launch

If the cause of the crashing is related to Visual C++ then you will have to either:

  1. Wait until Ubisoft can isolate what exactly the interaction is that causing the crash and solve it with a patch
  2. Run a dual boot system with a copy of Windows and Division 2 without Visual C++ installed.
  3. Try and find a working version of Visual C++ that Division 2 doesn't freak out about
  4. Try and find replacement programs that for those that require Visual C++

Hello, so fresh install of Division 2 wont start, thanks to missing "vcruntime140_1.dll". so going to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 - 2019 Redistributable" . and that should allow other apps to start working again 🙂

im SHD 2053, i personally know how to deal with and play around the tech diffs with this game (i.e. i know to switch between DX11/DX12, keep up-to-date with the Nvidia driver issues, monitor my CPU/GPU performance, etc)

sorry for the late reply - my friends and i moved on to other games over the weekend, because both of them kept experiencing the "Suspended in Task Manager" issue and we all just got tired of messing with it

I also have this issue. The weird thing for me is that my game sometimes crashed after 10 mins, but other times it didn't crash for my whole 4hrs gaming session.

I have my suspicion on the lack of VRAM that could lead to crash. I own a 2060. I play on high settings and my VRAM is always above 5600MB. I notice that usually before I crashed, the VRAM was usually around 5900MB, which was near my maximum capacity of 6GB. This is no more than just a guess though. Usually if one doesn't have enough VRAM, the worst thing I know that could happen is graphical glitches so what I said above could be wrong.

I found that the game suspension is usually because of an outdated drivers issue. Problem is Div2 requires 466.77 to function yet my Task manager wants it to be a newer version ...

try to update all of the visual c++ redist package starting from year 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2017-2019

used to have that issue few months back. but now no more. im using a 2060 too. upgraded my ram from 16gb to 32gb and it did help to minimise the crashes, but it still happens. updating the visual c++ redist package and uninstalling razer synapse worked for me

Nothing will fix the crashes. It's a game problem. Go to the character screen and open the settings menu and you'll see "unofficial" on the bottom left. Trying to figure out what it means.

Yeah the crashes are a boner killer I don't like the fact that I have to restart a legendary mission and lose a good matchmaking team because I crashed before the boss fight.

So far tonight, zero crashes, but also zero matchmaking. Literally every other game Ive tried so far is matchmaking just fine so I have no idea what's going on

Anyone having any trouble with the fragile armor directive and not being able to fully repair your armor after using all of the armor kits? It looks to me like I have one segment of broken armor that just won't repair even after using all 4 armor kits on it. Going to safe houses is the only way to repair it

Anyone having trouble with poor cpu and gpu utilisation? When i am in game my cpu and gpu utilisation is around 8% and when i'm tabbed out it goes back to around 20%. I'm using a R5 2600x with a 2060 and 16gb of ram
