I had this not that long ago. With me the issue was because of a faulty EAC update. EAC has kernel properties and if they don't work properly it shuts down your PC. For me repairing/validating fixed the issue. If it doesn't work you can try reinstalling if you haven't already.

More likely overheating than crashing. Crashing should give you a crashwarning in the bluescreen..

Another reason could be even more hardware related. Have you tried putting the GPU in a different PCIE slot?

I'm not really sure how to fix the overheating issue as it only happens with this game would think that a Lian Li Galahad 360 mm AIO would be able to cool a core i9

That depends. Division 2 still has an issue with overheating the CPU because it has the tendecy to focus all it's effort in one core. Probably causes most of the game freezes/crashes as well.

late reply is late, but i basically Uninstalled and re installed the game.
dont think it matters too much but i installed onto a different location(external hd) and i was able to boot up the game fine.

I am using driver-locked FPS at 170 for Division 1 and Division 2. The first screenshot is from the Division 1 benchmark, everything as always here and completely normal: I always get an average 170 fps. The second screenshot is from the Division 2 benchmark; usually I get an average of 170 as well here, at least before I patched the game to 18.2. Now I get 150 fps while it drops to 115 fps in Zone 4 of the benchmark - something that NEVER happened before.

every one has their little fix for the crashing.. i was doing 3+ a session and frankly banned from Division twitter because of my rants.. and then i updated my video card (literally got a new one).. crashes have dwindled to about once a week and they are still random.. (turn a corner and crash.. ive crashed at the loading screen, etc..)

I believe the devs did something to limit GPU usage with the 18.2 update. You can clearly see it in the screenshot. Not once went the GPU usage over 70% while clearly being the bottleneck, instead the FPS tanked while GPU usage was around 50-70%! Keep in mind, FPS was driver-locked to 170 FPS in this example.

Of course I am using dx 12, dx 11 provides abysmal performance. D2 doesn't support nvidia reflex, you probably mean low/reduced latency mode, which I switched to off. The performance gain by switching the latter one on/off is also minuscule btw.

I can only reiterate: with update 18.2 the developers did something to limit GPU utilization, intentionally or accidentally, resulting in less performance/decreased FPS, that's what the game performance data shows

Starting yesterday I tried to play Division 2 with someone on a separate PlayStation with a separate Division 2 game but on the same network. We are able to join each other’s group and hear on voice comms, but we are frozen on each other screens and cannot interact with the world. Previously to do this without issue. Fix the stupid Drone target lock. I go to target one target, no problem, but when I get the drone to target a mob thats after me, and get the drone target that...it refuses to acquire that target, its stays locked onto the enemy its attacking, even when I set new targets, it keeps attacking the SAME target thats attacking it. By far, the Striker Drone is the most useless skill as it acts with a mind of its own.

Traveling to any safehouse or boo except Castle will set it a bit lower than max (castle will give you max), and going through a loading screen (eg travelling to an off-site mission or joining another player's world) will also lower some ammo counts (including AR), but only some of that is due to ammo hoarder.

Already knew all that, it just seems very inconsistent and broken to me. Ammo hoarder already nearly halves my ammo. Why should I pay a penalty going to a safe house and it nearly halves it yet again and then it tells me it refilled my ammo. Why should the castle be special. If this is a feature by design it's poorly designed.

Castle always worked that way, well before it started getting rebuilt (it has the additional advantage of not removing memento stacks). The only part of it I think qualifies as 'feature by design' is the lower starting ammo from normal safehouses, I think that's to discourage you from using them as refill points, forcing you to find ammo crates. The other aspects are just bugs that were never patched.

I did raise the 'some types of ammo go missing during loading screens' issue with support a year or two ago on the old forums, complete with research and video evidence, but never got more response than 'We're investigating it'.

there's a stairway on street level, it goes parallel to the street then 90 degree left turn (you'll know you're there as there's a gear item crate at the end of the stairs),
when you turn left, after going forward for I'd say 10 meters or so there'll be an open doorway on your left side.
That leads to an internal area where that component resource box is, along with a faction loot box (I think it's the Hyenas but don't recall 100%).
It's also the same area where one of the named hunters can be spawned at night.

Before you burn down the forest and replant, try repairing the install, restarting your modem/router, restarting your PC/uplay, and if all else fails, cut the div2 data to somewhere else on your pc and start the download, then move it back so it locates it again.

1. Since the update I can’t clear the manhunt no matter how many times I play the mission briefing after the rescue of Mari Singh.

2. Components are glitches out for me, no matter how many weapons deconstruct the awarded components do not increase, not visible in my resources tab and are greyed out when trying to resupply a CP.

What to do ?

rogue agent issues with missions. twice today rogues in missions mess up the intended play. got them in coney island amusement park and couldn't get the secret boss to spawn or unlock a door with a yellow box destruction. then in tombs got rogues at the morgue and couldn't progress futher in the mission and had to start over. YUCK! these are only two of many examples of rogues and missions issues. why not remove them from mission spawns and increase open world spawns. otherwise it is another glitch on the pile that causes us so much frustration when it should be fun. thanks and hope this input is considered.

My game was running fine last week but then as I started playing it more (grinding season) it got more and more problematic

Just fyi with 18.4 the developers failed to restore the performance they reduced with 18.3. Personally, I lost more than 30 FPS on average, which is most likely do to the game utilizing less of the GPU than before. Absolutely unacceptable. I‘ve noticed that after 18.2 / 18.3 my average FPS is lowered by 50.

I normally have 180 and since 18.2/18.3 i am stuck on 130fps and noticed random fps drops to 70fps with massively lags.

This goes inline with a reduced gpu usage especially while this fps drops, my gpu goes down to 20% useage for some reason.

@tropic moon same for me, it's been reported by players on Reddit as well. My suspicion is that the developers decided to reduce GPU utilization in order to prevent sudden GPU utilization spikes (100%+) that will result in the game crashing. The side effect is a noticeable reduction in overall game performance that shows itself in lower FPS, most noticeable for players that were used to high FPS before.

Capping the FPS makes no difference to the FPS drops below the cap. Mine is capped at 140 but I still get the random drops that @tropic moon mentioned, sometimes as low as 50-60FPS for anything up to around 10 seconds.

Hey this is a longshot but I gotta ask. I’m playing on GeForce now through my iPhone. 2 years now. Yesterday I tried logging in and it wouldn’t get past the initialization part. Ran it through ubi connect, steam, and epic and the same thing. Tried other ubi games and the same thing happened. I even installed ubi connect on my steamdeck to see if the updates would push through the streaming service and nothing. Called nvidia and they said to try through chrome, clear caches, and reset WiFi. Nothing. I know I’m not the only one who’s experienced this as it’s a sub on Reddit but no answers. Anyone been through this or have any suggestions? Thx

I used to play games via GeforceNow before. It's a cloud gaming service, which means you're streaming the game from their server/workstation/PC.

If you didn't get past the initialization part, it's their server/workstation/PC problem. Either they need to restart (which won't happen or will happen on their next maintenance schedule) or do something on the server/workstation/PC ie: reinstall the game, reinstall the Visual C++ Redistributable packages (like what Ubisoft advised us to do), etc.

Even if you update it on your PC or steamdeck, it won't affect the game files on their server/workstation/PC. So, sadly, there's nothing you can do.

that seems kinda sketchy tbh. 1khz has been standard for over a decade now, and the last scenario you should ever have to lower your polling rate below that is in a shooter where you'd specifically want a higher polling rate in the first place

sounds like an underlying issue of some sort. no clue where to start diagnosing that though, since i've never encountered mouse stuttering ... maybe try taking a look at your power settings? as a temporary troubleshooting measure, try setting all power-related settings to maximum performance (both cpu & gpu) and see if that does anything

i know higher polling rates (e.g., 8khz) can cause some pretty wild issues in some titles, but 1khz was typical even back in the 2000s. not saying that turning it down won't help, just that it suggests there's likely something else at the root cause of the issue if it does, and not anything inherent about a 1khz polling rate itself. i'm wondering if it's maybe cpu-related?

i think i'd probably open up a support ticket with your mouse manufacturer tbh. not ubi support, you won't get anything more than ultra-basic scriptreading from them - certainly nothing useful in terms of technical expertise, at least. your mouse mfr is best positioned to deal with mouse issues, believe it or not. i've also heard there's apparently a pcmr discord server that's both knowledgeable and helpful, could be worth trying?

Games aren't always run fullscreen. I run mine borderless windowed. So it might be worth switching between one and the other to see if that makes a difference.

This is something interesting also - your character moves in blocks, but hit escape and your mouse tracks absolutely fine.

Guys, in Countdown whenever the Reactor is the main objective (Decrypt safeguard protocol) upon completion the game crashes to windows 9/10 times for me and when the game manages to stay alive somehow in that 1 exception I see other peoples get crash out.
Just now 3 times in a row, 2 crash out for me and in the last I could stay in the game with 2(!) remaining players all others are crased I guess.
This nonsense happens only and only when the Reactor is the main objective.

Is there a solution to prevent the crashout?

What I meant with "a lot going on" is graphically, like lighting effects, shadows, smoke etc., which are all handled by the GPU. If we'd talk about CPU heavy games, like the Warhammer strategy series, Minecraft, ARMA etc., I'd agree with you. But Division 2 mostly relies on the GPU since there are no huge armies, no huge top-down cities with many complicated NPCs to calculate etc. If your CPU is ever the bottleneck in Division 2, your GPU must either be very outdated or you must be running an old i3/i5 or comparable CPU. For me personally, the GPU is the bottleneck in Division 2, hands down - and it's not getting as utilized as before TU 18.3, resulting in less average FPS.

I am not clear why you think moderators are going to delete this kind of thing, but I and many others have the "invisible enemies" and similar problems, and in almost all cases when it starts all CPU cores get pinned at 100%, and it ends when that stops. i have also seen people complain that but imagine having one of the most powerful consumer cpu you can buy and still not getting the performance you want anyone would be disappointed

Indeed! And actually, these aren't just the most powerful consumer CPUs, they're pretty much around the most powerful period, depending on how you measure. They have much better single-core performance than the 56-core CPUs used in server systems. (Or did last I checked; I've not looked lately.)
