Is there a known bug for the "Special Order" achievement not unlocking? I have changed specializations multiple times (and completed many of those achievements as well)

So this is a new one for me. Randomly got a black screen while playing Division 2 earlier.. ever since then, the game either stays at a 0% infinite loading screen, or freezes after the Snowdrop segment of the splash sequence, and then does nothing while I still hear the sounds. I've verified, uninstalled, reinstalled, and all that other crap. Any ideas? Was playing perfectly fine until the black screen crash.

i would say that optimizing doesn´t work with this one, it says recalibration -> 2 max rolls already needed and you swap out the remaining one, so that you get a god roll item

you've entered the division zone, where logic makes no sense and fixes work randomly & indiscriminately....

you get 10 minutes, i get 2, others get 5, etc etc etc

you can try the multitude of 'fixes' spread across reddit, ubi forums & google, may the gods smile on you

i set EAC to use only 1 core on core affinity in task manager and it helped a little at least now i can sometimes play more then 20 minutes like eh 90% of my sessions

I put my game into fullscreen (It helps with the games speed, its slow if its windowed), and after 5 or so minutes of playing like it, the game just bricks. Nothing works, it doesn't ever shut down, etc. And it reverts back to windowed mode. I have tried this 3 times and nothing has worked.

anyone know why everytime i launch the game its literally like luck of the draw on what server i get? i will show the green wifi bar symbol but my ping would be very high, i know its not australian servers because most of the time its asian servers due to the fact everyone in the whitehouse has non english names etc

Kind of a strange question, but does anyone here have hand issues while they're playing div2? As-in, pain in the lower+outer part of your hand when playing for anything longer than 30 minutes or so?

Sounds like an rsi-type issue, I'd suggest focusing on the positioning and tense-ness of the hand in question, maybe invest in wrist support or similar

not sure if it’s the mass amounts of right clicking needed to ads due to the fact that this game specifically has lots of enemies that come in waves second s apart if that makes sense ?

possibly turning on toggle aim down sights or on a gameplay side of things if playing in a group to run a sniper build with focus/constantly aiming down sights so there’s less stress on your right hand ?

I don't think it's the mouse / fingers... pain in the elbow region kinda area? Maybe ask if the shoulder muscles feel a bit of a twinge too. If that fits... it IS the game. Or to be precise, how that player interacts with that game. The pain is kinda RSI... but it's more muscle fatigue due to the player keeping certain muscles at 'tension' continuously / repeatedly.

@chilly remnant check in your Event Log (Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Event Viewer / or search for Event Viewer) If it's "app stopped working with window", it's that crash bug. You may get something that says 'app hang', in which case look to see if the video driver crashed and restarted (caused by the game). The EAC setup file will be in "\Tom Clancy's The Division 2\EasyAntiCheat" - just run it to update to the current version

In normal and hardcore, if you leave while in combat you are considered still there and therefore your agent can die. It is intended so people dont just log off when they think they'll die, but the crashing has made it into more of a hazard.

Also the devs mentioned on twitter that they've found a source for the crashing, and the fix is coming in the next update.

Yeah my issue is with DX12 being super unstable and massive has ignored this issue for over 5 years. Since the issue originated in the division 1.

I reported it so many times with video proof of it happening multiple times and nobody will respond to it. If massive doesn't fix this issue in the division 2 then that avatar game is gonna suffer the same fate including the division heartland which goes into bordered mode on its own like the two division games do.

Its wild that this issue. its not on the trello board as a known issue.

there's loads of things to try, what works and what doesn't for you is difficult to say. Other than switching to DX11, other simple suggestions would be to clear your shader cache folder (in Documents\My Games\Division 2) and then verify files in the ubisoft launcher. You could also try the 'switch EAC core affinity to 1' thing in the task manager, but that has to be done manually every time you run the game

lots of other ideas out there, but since crashing frequency can vary hugely from day to day and week to week it's very difficult to pick effective methods from those that just appeared to work for a while

Hey everyone, so for the Faye Lau encryption keys, I believe I may be soft locked in the game as I already used the second encryption key and it is gone from my inventory, however I still have a side mission objective of, "Use Faye Lau's second decryption key to unlock the data". theyve been happening for 2 years + without any recognition, the recent fix was probably implementing the reddit fix that the community found

That's a relatively common bug but the only fix I know of is to reset the manhunt and start the whole thing again (although you can at least drop the difficulty down if you want to run it quickly). I'd also recommend after killing each of the four key-giving targets, travel to NY and back before handing in the keys to Kelso.

It can happen on any of the keys, so hand each one in as soon as you earn it

There's no definitive solution at this point just a few possible point that take you from 10 crashes a day to 8. Assign a specific CPU core to easy anti cheat, deactivate your overlays like Nvidia experience ingame, clear your temp and shader cache folders, get rid of all old Microsoft visual installations and the list keeps going. But I tried all of it and still crash randomly so I'm sure there is no final answer besides trying to live with it

I don't have a screenshot, but I'll explain the issue. I've finished 3/5 of the manhunt targets, but I've only gotten two keys for Kelso. I've got the sidequest to give Kelso the 3rd key, but when I go up to her, the UI is greyed out, as though I don't have the key.

That's odd, the way it usually bugs out is that you give Kelso a key but it doesn't register and you have to give her another one before it progresses

Although I guess maybe that happened with the previous key and that's why you're short now?

Sadly the only fix I'm aware of is to reset the manhunt and start it again, although at least you can drop the difficulty if you want to power through it a bit faster

I'd recommend if you do that to fast travel to NY and back immediately after earning each key and then handing it in straight away before starting on the next target.

Already tried many things and it's still crashing regularly. Dx11 or 12 doesn't matter for me at least and I set eac to one core already. Reinstalling driver with ddu wipe, cleaning all old Mc visual cpp installations, deleted all temp files, cleared the shader cache, set different amounts of virtual memory and system controlled, deactivate all overlays, I even tried game mode. Gonna try the stuff mentioned in the reddit post

I played a bit over 3 hours and had no crash which is only unusual because in the last week I regularly had one 10 to 15 minutes after first starting the game the first time of the day. 3 hours is not really a sample that's giving any valuable data but I'll just say what I tried today.

1. I set my Page file from auto to 10GB on C where my game is installed as well since I upgraded from 16 to 32gb ram last week and deactivated page file on another normale sata ssd where I install not so demanding games
2. set fast sync in the nvidia control panel and limited the fps to 144 to match my monitor ( low latency mode as stated in the reddit post was already off)
3. deactivated low latency mode ingame
   What I already did a few weeks ago was to set the windows exploit exception as stated in the reddit and assigned eac to one core
   Edit: nevermind that, after taking a break I started the game played 10 minutes and had a crash
   Edit 2: I don't know why but EAC was back to all core affinity, changed it to core 0 now and purged my temp forlder as well as the div2 shader folder

i run the game with DX11 from external HDD

if I start playing immediately after choosing a character, the game almost always freezes after a few minutes (especially noticeable when loading into the DC and traveling to NY, as well as when fighting with the named enemy north of BOO)

but if I start the game and wait 5 to 10 minutes at the character select screen (or stand still in BOO / Haven), for the entire next game session (up to 8 hours) there may not be a single freeze in any of the modes (including Countdown)

Maybe tell us the settings you are using because you question is totally pointless without them. That being said, I have an i7 6700k, 3080ti, 32gb Ram and run it with maxed settings at 4k and I get about 100fps with no slowdown. So to answer your question, I think it's pretty well optimised 😉

The core affinity doesn't really help me, it still crashes randomly. Sometimes 5 times in an hour and sometimes not at all in 5 hours, the only thing I "think" helped beside the usual what everyone already knows like the exploit exception, fast sync, dpi application scaling and so on it seems to me is lower graphics and capped fps but that is probably purely placebo. I even changed the rights of the entire ubisoft folder so not only I as admin have full rights but also applications.

Its the ubisoft specific crashdumps created by the launcher - they use the ".breport" extension and (from my experience) are created only when running the game fullscreen (not windowed) and are permanently removed after the 'send to ubisoft' prompt - basically you have to manually copy them out of the temp/ubisoft/ dir before you send the crash report off otherwise they're gone forever (I forget if I tried windbg already but I doubt it works as these dumps are proprietary & ubi haven't shared how to use/view them), thx tho ❤️

Just started the season, already got 12 levels with season pass.
That means +4 Apparel Chace keys in addition to the regular count by Shade levels but I have 0 ACKs. Nothing is added yet, and neighter the Field Proficiency Chaces are not added after any level up.

for the apparel cache keys, it looks like a bug, I think they've somehow got them confused with apparel event keys? (Mine says 'all event items collected'). Regarding field proficiency caches, you won't get those again until you reach season level 100, the season track rewards are what you get instead.

if in doubt, look at the EXACT name for them, it should be something like 'Shoulder pads 2140' where the last four digits are the level range

Last night I downloaded the update and loaded in the game and went downstairs to talk with Kelso, during her talk, the game crashed as usual ( that everyone is familiar with this issue, game crash for no reason); So my interaction with her was cut in the middle. when I ran the game again and loaded inside, Kelso and her interaction was gone but " Search White House For Answer ... " quest is still on top of the screen since last night.
Even after I got rid of the first lieutenant "Tig" and took the flash drive to go and interact with laptop, It wouldn't let me cause I still have that very first quest : " Search White House For Answer ... ".

Hmmm... by any chance, did you take this picture after switching to a build with this gun?

because there is a known bug where switching builds would screw up the looks of guns, mainly the attachments. So you could end up having a 1911 with a 50 round 7.62 mag but it wouldn't actually change the stats. Just swap the gun for a different one and re-equip it. Works for me all the time. 👍

Well I never blamed the game did I, tho according to the error (and no additional information given) this was still the simplest guess in my opinion. Just the permission thing is rather complex, depending what is executed from where and how it's executed, what are additional dependencies and where are those installed, what's the users profile permissions setting etc.
Small example: I use a windows profile with admin privileges and used to run Steam as admin playing game x and used an auto-clicker for it, which wasn't run as admin. Turns out the clicker never worked until I also set it as 'run as admin' or remove the 'run as admin' from steam. "A game should never ever (...)" maybe, but often enough it came down to exactly that 🙃

The application needs admin permission to do things on the system level. A game should NEVER need those permissions. Everything a game would EVER need to run is exposed already on user level.

for those intressted about crash fix that worked for me:

I've been in a long session for like 12h without crash.
done some summit, bounty, and some missions with other people and I'm stilll there without any crash.

-from the link above I've done fix 1, exploit protection.
-vsync off, using gsync, but limit fps to 60.
-I'm still using overlays
-I've put the game proprity in compatibility for Window8
-Dx12 was less crashy with all those fix, but Dx11 is perfect, no crash at all.
-graphic settings on high

My personal opinion is that some temporary files are going ooga booga with the ram and sending my pc into a revive.
I was made aware of the current built of the game being not very stable and some improvised ways of the community by basically wiping a bunch of temporary files. Based on myself only starting to have these problems after my first 8 hours session with no hiccups, I do kinda feel the problem towards that direction.

most common error is to play it on too low a difficulty - check the exact full wording at the white house (not just the goal tracker in the corner of your screen) to see if it says 'on Hard difficulty or higher' or something similar

Over laoding a PSU wont just crash ur PC. itll either cause downclocking or inability to reach proper clock speed. or the PSU will literally just blow up

I had issues with crashing shortly after the 16.0 patch, then it just magically went way. Not sure if it had anything to do with it but I did verify game files when I noticed the increase in crashing..shortly after verifying..it stopped. Not sure if it was a coincidence or if it was related.

I've been playing since mid 2020. In the very beginning I didn't crash. At some point the crashes started. I can go days with no crashes to the point I forget about them, seriously. Then one evening its a crash fest. I no longer continue trying after 3 crashes.

It used to crash without going to window mode and I was forced into hard reset each time. Sometime late last year or right at the beginning of this year it changed and now it crashes to window mode which allows me to close it without a hard reset. Silver lining? I'll take what I can get at this point.

I had memory issues many years ago so eventually I came to the conclusion that these crashes were likely due to a bad stick as well. However, I've tested all my memory and they had no fails. I did not test very extensively, only about 15-20 minutes, but I've ran the test multiple times with no negative results. I'm back to thinking its the anti-cheat triggering on a false positive or something like that. It can crash if I'm roaming and pick up an ammo drop, or if I'm not even touching the controls sitting in the White House with inventory opened.

Same just switched with different ram capacity and timings, just now played up to 2 hours did the EAC affinity after it crashed restarted the PC and loaded the game it crashed when character loaded and re logged in again it crashed after 5 minutes fighting.

IMO this is the only game I had issues with crashes but other games that has EAC I don't have any crashing issues.

With my Hardcore Character I get "out of bounds" after trying to reset the control points.

HI all, new division 2 player, well new to PC, switched from PS to PC. Been playing on PC for about a week and since yesterday I have been getting a lot of freezes at different times when playing. I have tried reinstalling the game, clearing caches, playing without my xbox controller and still get freezes that require a CTRL ALT DEL end process. For my experience with the game crashing there is no way to mitigate the issue on how I see it, tried different processor, GPU Intel x AMD, Intel x Nvidia, AMD x AMD, AMD x Nvidia and Memory modules from 8GB, 16, 32GB still crashes same goes with Win 10 latest build and Win 11 latest build. It just randomly crash/freeze when it wanted too and yes I agree with you that sometimes the game works fine and after that goes back to crashing issues.
