Not to stir the pot, but there are hundreds of dozens of known cheaters on PC that have over 5k, 10k, sometimes even 15k hours, and have yet to receive a ban (wouldn't be surprised if this was also the case on console). In the past, Rivens is right, they did issue bans to those cheating and using exploits and glitches. As for now, in this point in time, that's just not the case. They COULD issue bans, Which is likely what Rivens is saying, but due to the history lately... Will they? Answer points to 'likely not'. To be optimistic though, if they release Survival with PvE and PvP options, they might start wiping away cheaters. Keyword, might. If they don't, the launch of Survival if there's a PvP mode, will be the same as the rest of PvP: cheater infested mess

Another factor to keep in mind as well, they issued bans back then because they had a decent sized team to give attention to the game. Those devs are gone, and we have what we have now. It's a PvE focused game, it's no surprise the devs we have now are focusing on that. As a PvP enjoyer as well, it sucks PvP doesn't get the same attention PvE does. I wish it was more taken care of like the PvE portion of the game is. We do have a choice in all of this though. Keep playing PvP despite the issues, or simply walk away when someone ruins the experience? I've stopped playing and found myself happier. That's just my 2 cents on it all

💯 truth. even then on console, people have jailbroken consoles. so they can load full on cheats onto them

theyre not as common as lagswitchers but every once in a while you will run into those kinds of people

What's worse now is the tinkerer thing allowing people to sneak a damage buff to their weapons without anyone knowing

I'd leave server if a blatant lagger were to appear but if someone is doing a bit too much damage you can't outright say they're doing it

its even like that on PC unless you look extra hard at how their bullets are or how their bullets act. easy debunk is running the same build and if it doesnt hit as hard as they're hitting, something fishy usually going on. closet cheating is becoming more common as well

Before the rainbow skull delete this, basically when people are using lagswitch, this allow players to send a lot of information on the client side and some of that information does not process as intended when they deactivate this switch. So for example: sending the information of activating the stick bomb to the server, the server send you the cooldown information to the client. But if the guy activates the switch, he's going to send a lot of stick bomb information, and the server ends up not processing this information correctly allowing them to make this glitch.

Sorry for breaking any rules but sometimes you need to understand how a cheat works so people can consider it as a cheat in the first place.

That's why you can tell what a person is doing just from the build.

If you see the most stupid build with a nemesis and an ACS-12 and u get 1 shot by his shotgun that's what they're doing, stacking pellets on target with the shotgun then releasing the key holding the nemesis.

The fact that the game allows this is crazy, it happened in div 1 for crying out loud it's been almost 10 years and they can't fix it.

Bighorn Regen

You can run hazpro / HSD or if you're a Chad, HSD/Regen. Or, if you like being a prick, Hazpro/Regen works too. Skills are up to you to decide but I recommend Defender drone and EMP sticky

Umbra Capacitor w/ Firewall

this is the setup everyone and their mom runs. you can swap to technician for the extra skill tier and squeeze more damage and skill utility out of the build. probably the most optimal setup for Umbra in PVP. I do have an alt setup but its barely any better. Skills can be whatever you want, Decoy is just there because its really good for hitting flanks. any other guns will shred on this build, its just that versatile. Capacitor is best in slot due to it having damage to armor on the weapon already. very unique AR. also gives more weapon damage per skill tier you have

Umbra Streamlined w/ Tinkerer

This is one that I personally use. For most up front damage in terms of Burst DPS. Be warned. this combo locks you out of skills for that reward. If you manage to score a down but cant push, toss your seeker. Or, if somebody is holding a corner and you cant push, toss your seeker. Make sure you drop your decoy when you need to flank as well. You will lose a ton of damage by doing so as it disables Streamlined, but youll still have enough damage to get a kill if need be. It's an alt playstyle I found to the Umbra/Capacitor meta. It takes practice, timing, and good positioning to use this setup... But it MELTS

yeah its a pointless feature if nothing gets done about it. best thing I can recommend you do is block the cheater so you have a way of tracking them in your blocked list so you can keep track what each one is doing and where and avoid that content area

I've been on Project Zomboid surviving the harsh apocalypse. 18 days in, population will hit its peak in 12 Days. Power already went out and so did the Water sources. Should give it a try, it plays a lot like a looter shooter depending on what mods you add in 👌multiplayer compatible too so if you tweak it just right, you can get almost Division 1 Survival gameplay with PvP of all things

Hey I’m wondering what build I should do for DZ/Conflict, armor or dmg cores? Pretty new to PvP aspect I’m level 1300 and played dz a lot but I find it hard to compete in the level 1000+ dz 😭 I’m going against level 6000s with max expertise. I’ve made quite a few builds over the past few days and it seems like a good build but I still get outgunned in most of my fights

I'm pretty sure the PvP/PvE players is a guesstimate off of certain criteria, basically at least 11k certain PvP players, not just those who venture in or give it a go.

The data is 3 years old now, I would have to ask Alex and verify but I think that's 200k accounts logged since 2022 across all 3 platforms.

Around 10% of the community mains PvP I'm sure many could agree with.

We have 20k PvP players/3 years, how many still play today? It's probably a couple thousand across the platforms best case scenario. Probably just a few hundred platform wide at any given moment in time.

You've got a solid point. And considering, as you're saying, those numbers are a guesstimate... It means the the Legit:Cheating player ratio could be much much much higher. Common sense/basic logic would tell you that those who start cheating on a game are likely to not stop cheating on a game. It's that age old saying, "once you cross the line, there's no going back"

Yeah the ratio is no where near 1/3 of all players cheating lthough it can sometimes feel that way, the situation doesn't have to be near that to be dire though, 1 cheater amongst 12 is enough for every server to be ruined, even less actually.

It only takes 30 seconds for a rage hacker to join a server wipe it, pretend to lurk around, find another server, repeat. You only need 2 or 3 dedicated losers to patrol every server within a server region, another 2 in NA and your night is ruined.

The 'recent' menu doesn't help matters either, when I'm getting targeted they can just check which DZ I went to next, dead game, they follow, they find.

There should be a privacy option or an 'offline' option. You can't even hide from 'friends' either if you wanted to do some solo farming whatever in total peace, I never understood that.

Oh yeah it's no secret that you have a bunch of ahh kissers who when they get a little salty they call in air support, you see 1 name and you know the only reason you aren't dead yet is the server is still full.

A VPN helps but it's not much better over the pond. It used to be a saviour but not anymore, they also have them.. takes 5 mins, just long enough to settle in a new server, and then you get brrrrrrrrrrrrd by the same guy.

It was like this a few months ago, almost every remaining clan/group had at least 1 guy in the clan that did funny things, almost like their own bodyguard, the moment hey feel like they're being cheated on they call them in to do the deed

100% agreed. Whenever I see certain players/groups show up and they get beat a few times, a cheater usually shows up within moments later. I find it oddly coincidental (convenient, actually) that the common names I see around that are grouping together, when they get beat, a cheater shows up

This can be people that aren't in the same clan but still grouped together (it's not uncommon to see) because they play by association or familiarity. Sometimes those known names disappear from the group mid DZ, the rest remain, then a cheater shows up as well. Some sorta secret alt? Or did they intentionally leave to make room for someone to invite their cheater friend in?

I'm starting to connect the dots between specific players I see commonly in the DZ. It's not all of them, I'd like to make that clear, but definitely some who's name will likely ring a bell depending on people's server regions

The paranoia is at an all time high now and half the time it feels like people are cheating or exploiting. At this rate I run profile lookups on community ran Cheat trackers just to give myself more insight if I died in a weird way and jumping to conclusions, or there's Anomalies in someone's stats or just overall confirmed to cheat

Yes it matters, you need the capacitor.

Otherwise use the Lexington but not with the ninjabike as there is no point. If you don't have the Lexington then try the FAL. High end ARs with Umbra you would build with vigilance and coyote.

In this case you would have a Nemi as a secondary so I can bodyshot snipe.

Ninjabike Umbra is for Capacitor mainly but also Iron Lung.

Unfortunately there aren't enough players to populate all server instances, the player count keeps falling. It used to be just an out of prime time issue but even during prime time there's empty servers.

However if you are below 1k SHD you get put in a protected bracket.

If you want to find people to engage with/fight against then you need to transfer.

On console a lot of people walk out into the open world up the road, maybe just crank out an activity or a control point, then return, if you get a loading screen you have transferred successfully.

Or you can do random matchmaking from a dark zone checkpoint, accept whatever it is and sometimes that zips u out of your session into another one, do this enough and you'll begin to understand how it works.

Often times you'll matchmake randoms doing a mission and it takes them out of their mission, I really shouldn't but I really enjoy doing that.

Session joining is easier and provides a faster connection but you can't always bank on your cross worldly buddy being online.

Also what if you want to return to your region? You'd have to switch the connection and relaunch UBI, in game it takes far too long to automatically switch you back.

Now I don't have Mullvad but I do hear they are top notch for privacy. Isn't Proton also a good option? The paid version of course.

Most YTrs will just peddle their sponsor, some others do actually give good advice.

VPN's are a legitimate safety feature for people, especially those who are more vulnerable online.

I think what he means is some people use VPNs as a tool to increase lag which if you know how to adjust your play style can provide an advantage.

For example if you fight players with shields it makes it incredibly easy to get behind them and dish out good damage before they can re-adjust.

Now, good players can 'learn' a players lag and begin to overcompensate the shield swing in order to nullify this but with more lag the harder it is to do.

Also, when playing high damage builds you just need to be more patient but the idea is you wide swing out of cover further than you normally would so a player who would retreat safely might actually end up dying instead far behind cover.

It's these types of deaths that inexperienced players cry cheat on because they don't understand that the bullets while they appear to go through walls they in fact did not.

Also it's not really any different than inviting an Asian friend into EU with their 200-300ms.

One should simply be responsible and always choose the closest possible location to the server you are playing on.

Was more of an issue a few years ago, but playing any slightly older game with an online component, I would be playing alone if I couldn't fake being somewhere else.

Even me being in US East, the lack of balancing and cheater bans is what pulled me away from PvP. Played 2 matches of conflict, surprisingly zero cheaters, but didn't stop the incessant whining of somebody crying about skill builds meanwhile they ran a skill build on their team themselves. There was shyte talk of course, but it was so braindead. "Only losers play skill builds". I gave the reply of "back out if you don't like it". They gave me a reply of "who's speaking to you? Funny you talk when you think you're good at the game"... Funny enough, they went negative first game 3/6 or something like that. I was 6/1. Next game they went like 3/5 and I went 8/4 lol. 23m damage first game, second game 40m damage. They never touched above 20m damage both games. Oh how I don't miss the pvp in this game 😂

Rogue gold interviewed with the game's director and even the director had almost nothing of value to give to the pvp community besides "we will try our best moving forward"

That's very true. Can't argue that fact. With how I see it tho, it's crucial to keep PVP and PVE players hooked. Otherwise you'll just lose your 10% playerbase entirely. Those same people playing PVP are also likely picking up skins and season passes (and if not, they're playing for the new gear, since that's all PVP gets is new gear)

With how pvp is in this game with separate stats from pve, it's not hard to tweak items, put in damage caps, etc. We know the dev team isn't large but starting off with community feedback towards pvp instead of it all being about PvE would be a great leap in the correct direction (I say leap bc every single Livestream devs host is flooded with PvP questions, feedback, and some form of complaint and they give no responses 99% of the time leaving PVP in the dark)

Dark Zone - meant for PvE content with PvP mechanics thrown in. To fully remove the PvP mechanics from it defeats the point of it being called "Dark Zone"

However, the dark zone maps would make for some awesome spots to introduce the option to toggle them into PvE zones, for high quality loot. Make it say, legendary scaling. The target loot can be picked as well there and you have to fight Legendary health scaled targets. Add in the Rogue Agents and Hunters and you've got yourself a fairly cool addition to PvE spots (DZ East/South/West)

It's a wonderfully haunting area, genuinely feeling desolate, somehow much more-so than even the LZ maps.

There isnt a need for a PvE DZ, what these players want is a game mode or map area where they can encounter other 'agents' and play some co-op alongside them.

Now there are some who dont mind entering the DZ for a bit of tension & 'risk' without necessarily feeling like cannon fodder 247. Div 1 offered that experience.

You could have regions of the game on a rotation maybe that offer this co-op experience with the ability to request a fight from players/groups so you can have a PvP experience without it being 'forced' on to you. The reason we cant have that now is the whole 'session owner' system, it would have to be replaced. Or be just an alternative.

Obviously the PvE experience would need to be quite the challenge, ideally without simply bumping up the NPCs HP & DMG (look at Chinese DZ), so looking at hunter AI for example as a case example of something they already have that can be worked on and implemented. OBVS this would be a Div 3 project.

If anyone has seen the work done by Embark on ARC Raiders and their AI training system, MASSIVE could also do some in house AI training and learn from PvP players actions to train AI so you get something a lot more organic than a few NPC archtypes that in the end once you learn the ins and outs they just become boring time sinks.

I would like to farm in peace some tough NPC activities then maybe offer a fight to the surrounding players for a risk at some loot or just for the fun of it, with a handshake style PvP system it means no 3rd partying, spectators would be able to stand aside and let a fight happen as it would be IRL, instead in the DZ you get 1 smaller group 'flagging' and every other vulture just joins in to gang up for an easy 'win' for they are too weak to try themselves.

This is why a lot of players who play Conflict play Conflict, they want that equal numbers experience, a classic match formula, but if there was another system that enabled this I believe Conflict would well... not be necessary. Then the devs could work on something with a lot more oomph like Last Stand which Div 2 could never match.

Actually if you really look into it, it just means everyone's gonna spam defender drone and fire sticky.

Also it means anyone can jam skills, so whereas you might see more mortars you might also see them dealt with easily.

crypt covered umbra really well here, its one of the best builds in pvp and can be easily adjusted to different playstyles

also super easy to build

it helps but theres no requirements for it

regen builds should have hazpro as 1 of the minor attributes

its super common to see, its mostly to prevent foam. do you have a bighorn?

i would also make a regen build, its going to be a good learning curve but its worth practicing with it now

Run an m870 with brazen or lefty for sledge

I haven't updated it in quite awhile, but the general information is good

Use the Lefty when u throw nades as long as u dont already have Bighorn stacks, otherwise dont even bother shooting anything else, its Bighorn or nothing if u want to kill people, if u find yourself against intimidate warriors then you'll need to make a variant with the Hunter Killer on a separate loadout

Also with 60% HZP you'll still get foamed, decent players can kill u within that 1s or weaken you, in this case you'll need x2 foam mods to keep that at bay, or even a 3rd mod if they have the Intim version with Technician.

It's not the best advice but I take mine with Regen + Headshot. I run defender drone and booster hive with firewall. You'd be surprised that the average player doesn't shoot out booster hives. Good players who know tho will most likely target the hive first but in most cases, you can get away with using booster hive

If you fight a player with braincells they will just wait until your booster is out of range or foam you before you can drop it, or if they are smarter proc finisher off of it since it has no HP and the hitbox is huge.

In division 1 you had a balance between the shock turret and the immune box, in div 2 there's no balance between the status options in this game Vs the skill 'counter'.

However if you have enough damage with crit or otherwise the Tempest can compete against Bighorn, it's just not as versatile.

It's a big "depends on the enemy" scenario. You can usually get away with booster hive, as previously mentioned. But that won't work against decent players. It's a 'use at your own risk' method
