#Please reconsider using HA style maps

I think KVKs would be a lot better if you moved away from the current Heroic Anthem style where camps can skip most of the early fighting and still move forward. Right now, a camp can drop Zone 5 in half a day and still get two free passes into King’s Land, and let's be real, Pass 7 and Alters are not real fighting. It makes the early zones feel pointless and turns the entire KVK into a one zone KL fight.

It also feels unfair because we wait one to two months off season, then out of a fifty-day KVK we only get around three days of actual fighting. Most players sign up expecting a full KVK, not just a quick end fight.

Progression should be earned, similar to Orleans or other similar KVK formats. If a camp does not fight for a zone or loses, they should naturally enter the next zone at a disadvantage.

I understand the concern that camps might get locked out early, but I believe that is a separate issue with matchmaking, kingdom placement, or diplo. The solution should not be free passes for everyone. It should be meaningful early zones that matter and reward effort.

Making zone progression matter again would bring back proper fighting across the whole map instead of just a short burst at the end. FrogeSitting

Look at the 6 camp maps that do not have a purely linear progression ( so Keener Blades and Nile are out).

Alliance Invictus, Orleans, Stratagems and Warriors Unbound. In my opinion, of those 4 maps, Warriors Unbound is by far the best map the devs have ever made. I'm saying map, not story. You can have very different opinions about the WU mechanics. But the map is great.

Every camp has two possible zone 5 regions to fight in, so an early fight is almost guaranteed, unlike on the three other aforementioned maps where a zone 5 fight is only possible against one neighbour.
Furthermore, WU gives us a great zone 6 fight that is necessary for kingsland access, BUT all camps have at least a theoretical chance of getting that kingsland access through another zone 6 region if they lose their first one. In Orleans only 4 of 6 camps have this option, in Stratagems only 2 camps, and in Alliance Invictus no camp has this second chance at a redemption (and potentially another more balanced fight with new allies at their side).

Warrior Unbound is the best map ever made. The individual mechanics are old and dusty compared to new flashy stuff we get in Keener Blades or Troy, but the map remains awesome to this day. I would love if the developers could take a closer look at what they did great in the past, and either rework Warriors Unbound with new era mechanics, or take the map to heart and build a new story with a similar layout.

yeah, please just design a good new map.
the HA map is fine, but it's extremely stale when it's basically the only map.

Might actually be right about the WU map.
The mechanics of that kvk are somehow less fun than fort walls so no one plays WU, but yeah the map is nice.
Maybe they could add new formats with that as the base map.

That said, for the record the best kvk map and format is strife of the 8 and it's not remotely close.
It's an absolute travesty that the community just flat out en mass decided to stop queuing it because diplo and leadership is too hard.

early fights being guaranteed is the main step towards how this should be
