I think KVKs would be a lot better if you moved away from the current Heroic Anthem style where camps can skip most of the early fighting and still move forward. Right now, a camp can drop Zone 5 in half a day and still get two free passes into King’s Land, and let's be real, Pass 7 and Alters are not real fighting. It makes the early zones feel pointless and turns the entire KVK into a one zone KL fight.
It also feels unfair because we wait one to two months off season, then out of a fifty-day KVK we only get around three days of actual fighting. Most players sign up expecting a full KVK, not just a quick end fight.
Progression should be earned, similar to Orleans or other similar KVK formats. If a camp does not fight for a zone or loses, they should naturally enter the next zone at a disadvantage.
I understand the concern that camps might get locked out early, but I believe that is a separate issue with matchmaking, kingdom placement, or diplo. The solution should not be free passes for everyone. It should be meaningful early zones that matter and reward effort.
Making zone progression matter again would bring back proper fighting across the whole map instead of just a short burst at the end.
