An event called gathering heroes shows up where you can recruit kvk3 commanders with quests

currency from quests then spend on commanders

So, the event that pops up doesnt immediately give you access to all soc commanders. It gives you a wide selection but not all of them, usually gives the meta pairings though. Gotta get the medals to unlock the commanders through spending gems, speedups, etc. Price increases per commander

A small selection of the commanders will also show up in the daily bundle once you start kvk 3 proper, and I believe the first or second MGE in kvk gives access to the soc rally/garrison commanders

yea cuz they allow you to grow a good account in a kingdom that has a higher chance of ending up with decent leadership and have a good chance of winning kvk
