One for example allows u to heal outside of your city once every time u send a march out up to 10 times a day, other gives buffs to nearby cities

I am sitting on 1200 GH, and my initial plan was to Max LapuLapu/Matthias for my city garrison. I just want to get a second opinion on this to ensure that this will be worthwhile as I’ve heard Matthias is very good city garrison. I also have Gorgo/YSS maxed along with Atilla, my Hera is 5531. I have basically a full leadership set to put on the garrison, with the exception of accessories which are soon to come.

Just want to know if anyone has better recommendations, I don’t plan on being primary garrison in my kd or anything, I just want to make sure I have a good garrison on my wall on the off chance that I may get rallied or swarmed.

I would honestly strongly avoid spending gold heads on city garrisons because their purpose is very limited in the game - specially when you have an above average garrison available

In worst case, YSS/YSG as a city garrison because in all fairness, if you are being imprisoned and rallied and focused on to zero, you will end up getting hurt really bad in SoC regardless of your garrison just because the rallies are extremely strong.

Not to say that they it's better than Lapu and Matthias, getting lapu and Matthias is an awesome idea but only if you are getting them through mges tbh,

Gorgo is a must have if you wanna play as a garrison player for your kingdom which you don't want to. but Gorgo is certainly a very valuable and strong garrison commander.

You can use her with artifact with Choe secondary, David, Toku, Hector, she is the best garrison commander in the game by a long shot when it comes to longevity but it's not something you want so you can either max her through mge for a stronger city garrison or just go for lapu/and matthias from mge only.

as for your leadership set, honestly I would rather you spend gold heads on Philip if you don't have him and use him as primary or even Trajan in sunset canyone (if you already have him maxed) rather than maxing a city garrison just because with the field meta now and the requirement of gold heads increasing.

Also keep in mind that there is a good chance we will get equipment exchange event which will allow you to exchange your leadership equipment into different troop type set - if it is something you want.

I would recommend you instead invest your gold heads in keeping up with the meta for open-field more than anything.

Leadership set is mostly being using for yss/hera mixed garrisons where you dump whatever you want into them - beyond that point, it's very underwhelming, even when using on philip as primary, which is why if the equipment exchange event comes in 2026, it would be very suitable for you to eexchange to dffernet troop types

For Garrison, YSS/YSG could be your best bet, and if you end up getting some gold heads for lapu, he is quite viable as 5115 with yss secondary
or for Matthias also 5115 is pretty good you can try your luck with some skill reset and use them as so
other than that, dpending on how leveld up your gogo is and other commanders, you can figure something that works good enough

This will require working on your armaments for sure and min-maxing stuff

You could consider one to be 2% Skill Damage reduction with a 5 second cooldown and the other one 3.5% Attack

Also the first one getting a chance to be activated only when an enemy troop skill damage hit you, so may not even have much impact if it procs when you are almost dead. So in the instance where both would be equal and in the same slot, I would personally likely go for the 3.5% damage, because at least you are able to use the buff throughout the whole fight.

And I am pretty sure guarded solely applies on Skill damage and not Combo or Smite, so it makes it even worse, but don't quote me on that, I may be wrong.
