A good way to get materials is to save hammers for a few events and then go big on hammer event.
I usually buy the $5 and $10 bundle every time and just save for a few times.

Best thing to do is to do the easy stuff that doesn’t take too much time - do all your canyon battles, barb keeps/camps, use your daily ap, chain barbs in kvk, don’t skip events

I disagree. If you're not a deadweight, chances are you'll drop hundreds of days of speeds at a time every kvk. That 20% is a lot of difference. Also 3% troop health is better than what germany offers for your fighting marches

Definitely but my thinking was that in the early-game France is better for f2p as I know the trades are mixed, you only run one march still exhaust a lot of resources, and in general, you should have enough for one march by KVK1, no need for the Germany buff.
