lightweight java game library, libgdx, jmonkey are all for making games in java. i don't recommend using java for making games though.

C# and Java are also very very similar so you could slowly transition yourself into learning C# and move to something like Unity or Godot.

i've learned java at my high school too and i'll just say it's not worth it to work in it

learning more languages won't hurt, it'll just make it more easier to understand the concepts of programming and probably do better

my country's public school system is disgusting

for programming, we learn scratch till 9th grade, then we learn pascal
