Very nice
nice
you could add some engravings on the barrel so it looks a lil more like some snipers, well, sniper
I dont know, it will be in a game I'm working on which is low poly style so I think it would not fit the style
Oh
ok got it
then yeah
keep it that way
if you ever put your mind to it - just know that you could do such things via normal maps
they let you add details without enhancing the poly-count
Yea I know what normal maps are but the style of the game is simple and likely wont have actual textures for the models but just colors
sure, go for it hten
So basically like that version of Karlson made like 3 or so years ago style, just a little bit more detailed, right?
For now I'm thinking the game will go somewhat with this style:
Kind of mix between these two
So like Firewatch
Yea kind of :D. Firewatch has textures instead of colors
And I dont really like the trees in Firewatch
Hold on
Ima hold up too if you want
"A game about surviving in the wild, there are challenges such as getting food either fishing or hunting, gathering mushrooms, flowers etc. Player has to take care of other needs as well such as warmth and avoid getting killed by wildlife."
That's the simplified explanation of the game I am making.
Nice
Also
About the mushroom stuff
I'm thinking of If I need to make a story because it would make the player more interested in the game.
Make some sort of "shroom manual" that you may find in lost bags or stuff like that, so that you can identify the good mushrooms
Yeah
That sounds like good idea!
I am saying that because I sometimes go mushroom foraging with my dad
And it is always good to know how to separete the good from the bad
Or like
Make some lost papers that you have to collect
So you can then repair the manual
I had this idea where you would have a log book or something kind of like in Sons of the forest and there you could see a map of the world and I could perhaps add the shroom manual in there as well.
Yea of course the player has to work for it so there's actually something to look for
Also
Make another mechanic
Where if there are parts of the shroom eaten or there are bugs/snails eating it to then mean that that sort of shroom is edible
And if you find the good shroom but it has been eaten out of you can cut the bad part and aave the rest
Well that's for later Im just implementing some sort of inventory and shooting
I was thinking that the game should have these small details such like these you said
Yeah
It gives the player a sense of uncertainty (hope i wrote that correctly) and it makes him be careful at what he does and makes the gameplay slower in those times, until he starts to know the game mechanics
And hey
Slightly disruptive message/activity detected, please relax with your messages
I just got the idea for the story
You are a forest lover
And have to save up money for you and your fiance to move in
So every day you go into the forest
And havs to collect items to sell
And you can stay for longer
But then you will have to set up a camp and find food so you do not get hungry
And at the end when you think you are done, you get into your van (forgot to mention it) and go home
And alsl after finishing the level you get to sell all the things in your inventory(even your gun for a new one) for money, which you can either deposit for the home,
Or whit which you may buy equipment and food (like granola bars and ready to eat things for longer stays)
And also you could make a system where some animals may appear more often at some specic times
And so that would make the player stay for longer times, and make him use the food he has gathered/bought
(Damn I wrote an entire paragraph)
Anyway
I would give you more ideas
But I already wrote too much
But if you still want some new ones
Hit me up
