Hello <@&689024650780475480> and welcome to the Dani's Basement CS:GO Tournament!
We will be hosting a tournament for CS:GO on the 17th to the 23rd (not including the 18th) of this month (Times may be subject to change) where the total prize pool will be up to $1,000 in CS:GO skins!
There will be 2 parts of the tournament: The lower skill group (Anyone ranging from Silver 1 to Gold Nova Master) and the higher skill group (Anyone ranging from Master Guardian 1 to Global Elite) and each part will have their own prize winnings!
PRIZE POOL SCALING
$50 for 0 to 49
$150 for 50 to 149
$300 for 150 to 299
$500 for 300 to 1499
$1,000 for 1500+
If we reach the top amount of $1,000 the winning team of the lower skill group will take home a shared split of $200 in skins amongst the 5 players
The winning team of the higher skill group will take home a shared split of $600 in skins amongst the 5 players
ALSO 10 lucky players will receive a skin worth $20 each! So even if you don't win, there is still a chance that you could take home a $20 skin!
Players who win either the higher or lower skill group tournaments cannot win the $20 skin to make it a fair chance for everyone to win something
If we don't reach the $1,000 mark, don't worry, prizes and winnings will still be handed out scaled by the amount listed above in the Prize Pool Scaling!

Straight to the point - we need to talk about the server's conduct. The content and behavior have been creeping away from our PG-13 standard, with more sexual or edgy topics showing up.
We have a responsibility to maintain an environment suitable for all ages. Not only is it about keeping to the rules, but also about making sure everyone feels comfortable hanging out here.
So here's what's going to change:
If we notice any chats veering into inappropriate territory, we're going to step in. The action we take will depend on the situation. It could mean anything from revoking experience, muting, or, in extreme cases, banning.

Hey all,
Quick but crucial heads-up. We've become aware of a dangerous scam revolving around Dani's highly anticipated game, Karlson. It appears that several deceptive ads, which seem to be for Karlson, are circulating on platforms like YouTube (see attached image #1). However, they're not what they seem.
These ads redirect users to a scam site (see attached image #2) where they're asked to download an .msi file. This is a scam, and the file is likely malicious software.
We strongly advise you NOT to download or run any such files. Dani's game Karlson is not out yet, and any advertisement suggesting otherwise is misleading.
If you come across one of these deceptive ads, please report it. Google allows you to report misleading ads, and a helpful guide on how to do this can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaAbJ1ovOg4
We want to keep our community safe and informed, so please be cautious and help stop the spread of these scams by reporting any you encounter.

Hey all,
We've got some important updates to share with you regarding our server rules, specifically around age and the use of modified clients.
First off, let's talk about age. Previously, admitting to being under 13 was a bannable offense. We're changing that policy. From now on, as long as you act mature and follow our guidelines, you can stay. We're trusting you to help keep this community welcoming and respectful for everyone. However, if the staff deems it a case of personal safety, we reserve the right to take appropriate action, including potential bans.
Secondly, about modified clients. We used to ban anyone caught using them. We've decided to take a different approach. From now on, using third-party clients is done at your own risk. While we don't endorse or support their use, we won't be banning users for it. Remember, using these clients can still come with risks, and we can't help with any issues that arise from them.
So here's the summary:
- Age
- If you act mature and follow our rules, you can stay regardless of your age.
However, for personal safety, the staff may take action if necessary.
- Modified Clients
- Use them at your own risk, but it won't be a bannable offense anymore.

We are experimenting with some changes to permissions in certain channels! This could be temporary if it gets out of hand, but hopefully not.
Going forward;
- Level 5 will now fully unlock all permissions as Level 10 used to do in #✅-image-general
- Level 15 will now be able to react in #✅-general
- Level 20 will be able to send links (with embedded content), external stickers and attachments in #✅-general

The mod team is announcing an official GameJam hosted by Dani and mod team of both his reddit and discord! We challenge you to make a game in a given theme in two weeks, where other participants will be able to rate you.
Submissions start on Monday 21st of April, 9am UTC, ending exactly two weeks later on May 5th, same hour. With an extra two weeks for voting the submissions after that.

A big change just happened, many of you are probably confused.
As of writing this message, there are three different "groups".
When you pick a group, you'll get access to the general for that group.
After receiving image perms (see #🧷-roles-and-socials), you'll be given access to a "perms general" and a "promotion" channel.
Give it a trial period, some changes may be reverted, some may not.

Hey guys, been a while. I'll start using this channel more from here on out.
First off, the commune boi role was removed, as we didn't really see the need for it anymore.
Their contributions were helpful while it lasted but we figured getting suggestions and the like directly from the community would be a better solution overall (and it seems to have been a good idea, we're getting a lot of good ones in #📍-server-suggestions)
(For those of you unsure what they did, they took suggestions from the people and were kinda "mediators" between staff and "the average person", along with some other miscellaneous tasks)
I'd just like to make it known we're working on adding 3 more hobby channels, a starboard, and some other neat stuff. You'll see in integrated in the coming weeks.
I'm also personally working on moving moderation from @serene zinc to @lavish whale - this will allow us to let you guys use threads more (like in aforementioned #📍-server-suggestions) and we as the staff will also have a better judge of character than the current rep system we have (there will be some major improvements to it with the release of Wai moderation)
We're working on improving the server in general, and hope to make this a place where as many people as possible come to hang out and talk to other people about fun things and what they're passionate about.

@everyone since this is a pretty important one.
~~Recently a report of an image-based hack has been floating around using a picture that never loads. The rumors seem to be true though, as a report of an RCE (Remote Code Execution) has been reported in the Chromium browser engine. ~~
Discord is built using this engine (Electron runs Chromium) and there's a high likelihood that this exploit is real.
What can you do to protect your account?
1. Don't use Discord
2. Disable DMs from non-friends (Setting -> Privacy & Safety -> Disable allow direct messages from server members)
We hope that this is just a hoax, but currently it seems to be a very likely exploit.
As a result of this, we have disabled images in the entire server in hopes that this will keep our members safe from this exploit in this server.
Alternatively, you can disable image preview in your user settings under "text and images" - just also make sure you don't click any links.

We've received word and evidence to support that this is just an "unfortunate coincidence" between CVEs (bug reports) matching the timeframe of a "new phishing method"
Short summary of how it works; The "exploit" is just people sending you an image that "loads indefinitely" and redirects you to a phishing site once you click it - so basic internet security will keep you safe.
Tldr; False report, just don't log into sites you can't confirm are legitimate, and don't click links/images you think are suspicious.

Hey guys!
We've recently had a staff meeting where we decided to start looking into alternative ways to "progress" in the server, and have landed on something we hope will work out!
Some of you may know "image perms" as one of the major roles you need to do things in this server, which we're altering a bit!
We're going to start introducing levels into this server, which will give you the same perks as image perms did but at different levels of access.
We'll have a post some channel explaining what levels give what rewards, but the gist of this is that some of the image perms permissions will be easier to get, others will be more difficult.
With this introduction of level roles, we're also giving ourselves the ability to introduce more color roles and other neat stuff at different levels and whatnot, so look out for that in the coming weeks :)
Also, for added effect, here's a quick insight into what 3vilbot will be doing for the next day...
(Also, quick PSA: the exp you've gained up until now in this server is kept. Moving forward, exp will be 3x faster to get)

What’s up people!
We have 2 new cool systems we’ve implemented recently:
Starting from today, you can:
- submit a staff application! Run
/staff applyin any channel to open a form for you to fill out! - report messages to the staff team via context menu commands! Simply right click and hover on Apps on Desktop, or hold a message and press on Apps on iOS. Sorry Android users, Discord doesn’t love you guys yet!
However, we will be holding people who submit repeated false reports accountable and punishments will be issued.
In terms of the staff application, right now there isn’t that many questions (5 only). This is due to Discord’s API restrictions, if we’re interested in your application however we’ll contact you and arrange a small little interview where both you and us can go into more detail.
