yeah workspace (ws) 1 is multitasking / gaming etc like whatever im doing at the moment that requires the most attention and its on my main monitor, ws 2 is where my browser spawns, ws 3 is discord, ws 4 is steam and ws 5 is spotify

it assigns N workspaces to each monitor, for example 1-10 for monitor 1, 11-20 for monitor 2

easiest solution seems to be to just wrap steam in valves gamescope compositor

that way, hyprland just sees gamescope as a window which never changes its state, and steam can do whatever it wants inside gamescope without hyprland funkiness
