soooo cool! these paintovers look great, i hope you guys are able to capture the feels! i can't comment much on the prototype 3 map, its cool that you guys are already working on it, but it is just a barebones blockout right now. i assume the buildings and roads will loose their blocky feel and will instead be replaced with models and whatnot

I really hope you can manage to make the game look like that, the overpaints are so beautiful and they give off such a nostalgic vibe for me. Looking at them I can swear I've been to a place looking like that before

The game is in prototype stages, they're only now finishing the implementation of the most basic core features, done in a simplified way to test out if those features even work in the game. They still have so much to design, polish, program etc.
Besides the fact that the game doesn't currently look like the overpaints, you can see how basic the original screenshots are: it uses simple models and cubes with flat colors as textures. The level design probably isn't even done halfway either, they're only showing areas that are finished enough, but also the quality of art assets or how finished they are doesn't have much say on how much the game is finished, art team works separately from designers and programmers, some art assets might be finished a big while before a feature in the game is fully implemented.

If you played the prototype you will notice how buggy and unfinished all the features still are, because they still have a long way to go.
