maybe like. Finding a mailbox with a clock in it. We then throw that clock to a room. And like in hn2 alpha 1, we make them punch in a code. We use that same code to get a key. Use the key to complete the objective

finding a valve in a boiler room to put on a pipe, then turn it to make the room steam, and he will unlock a closet to get duct tape to fix it. We then sneak to the same closet and get a crowbar, use that crowbar to break the boards off the basement

But I guess I didn’t interpret it correctly enough since I know nothing about game design. What would I have to do in a game that involves getting into your neighbor’s basement and all you need to do is avoid the big bad guy. And boom, you’re done. I smell a Pre-Alpha cutscene

Puzzles make these games longer. But only because they bloat the game, often complicating it so that you either have to bang your head against a wall until something works, or search up a walkthrough.
