#Release hello neighbor 2 alpha 2

It wasn't released due to the fact that it is so broken and lacking in any sort of meaningful content. I'm pretty sure about 20 % of Gray Manor would actually be a playable area. You can see in promotional material that most of the windows are blocked out with light.

Imagine if the neighbor in alpha 2 was just a background character, and his house wasn't acsessable)

I don't care how broken people say alpha 2 is, I'd pay 80$ for it. Im not kidding.
I'd rather play a broken version of what they promised, than a fixed version of a game that wasn't what they were hyping people up on.
I dont care if the ai would get stuck every 10 seconds or something, aslong as I can play what I've been waiting since alpha 1.5 for.

yes, but footage from alpha 2 shows the locations the trailers were set in
theres some stuff that isnt animated
or atleast looks incredibly real, like the ign stuff, devlog background gameplay
They're pretty good at making convincing gameplay.

also the fact the neighbor catched him right after he removed a board, that's gotta be scripted. (in the end of the deep dive trailer)

Im not that informed about much hn stuff recently so I could be wrong but didnt they just remake it once, and even if they did wouldn't they keep stuff like the ai if it was this good?

Im not trying to start an argument here, Im just saying I enjoyed the old artstyle and trailers way more than what we got like what the ai does and stuff.

All im saying is that I think the game had massive wasted potential and they replaced it with a pretty simple artstyle instead of the old one which I found way better (ofc everyone has their own opinion) and just scrapped everything good, why even remake the game when they had a really good project going during times like alpha 1.5?

beta ai had much better idle tasks but other then that full game is better

Yeah but isn't that kind of a massive point, considering one of their selling points was that you can play around with the neighbors? Kinda pointless if they only have 3 activities

You can play around with the neighbors in the full game, too.

Im pretty sure you can play around with any npc that can walk around and run after you (not saying that's the only thing they do)
I don't see why they would add paint cans while working in such a hurry to complete the game to some extent.

if you take a closer look the "ai acting smarter" is just mistakes

for example the ai dropping the crowbar next to the stairs to trick the player was just him going up the stairs to catch the player, losing him, going down, noticing the player, throwing an item at him, losing him again and searching for him up the stairs, and going back down again
The neighbor dropped the crowbar he didnt throw it

Throwing was really broken in the beta, so I wouldn't be very surprised.

Mostly the reason why I prefer old alphas and stuff more is the artstyle and overall vibe of the game (which is, obviously my personal opinion)
Like for example the museum looks so warm colored now, when in deep dive it looked really cold colored which looked better imp
Im not saying the fg is bad im saying I personally didn't enjoy it a lot, it was okay, and think that they advertised a whole different game
I was honestly pretty relieved to see the new artstyle.
old artstyle was definetly much more unique but didnt fit with any of the npcs except the guest
new artstyle fits with all the new npcs

That's true, but in early alphas he was like the main antagonist
and I think it still fitted mr peterson, but I understand the other ones
