the story that I think it was begins like this it was summer and a boy was playing happily with his ball he would not have anyone from his family at home because it would be that they had to work a lot, and the family photo in a room 2 children would be friends since they would have marked the neighbor as a suspect for Nicky's disappearance in act 2 and they would have arrested him

the reason why it was summer was because nicky would have a lot of free time, while he was playing he would notice that the neighbor was doing suspicious things so he approaches the window, the neighbor is not amused and throws him out of his house

nicky would never be caught by the neighbor because if he hadn't accused him of his mother to leave him alone and problem solved what's more nicky would never be seen by the neighbor he would do everything in secret but he had to enter thousands of times to the house and look through all the windows to know each location and not get lost and be caught by the neighbor

nicky will open the basement for a while the neighbor doesn't realize it since we would see the door closed but it would only be a matter of time, nicky does the fastest he can open the door at the end of act 1 but the neighbor appears and complicates things When he achieves his goal, the neighbor discovers him and starts a chase that ends badly.

The several months and Nicky being taken care of by the Neighbor part if true, but Act 2 is a distorted memory, meaning the house wasn't as protected and large as it seems to be in Act 2

while on the one hand nicky would be thinking about exactly what the neighbor was hiding but he was more interested in leaving the house and stop being interested in what he shouldn't care about oh what he shouldn't get involved in, which he manages to do but the neighbor when he sees him escape he realizes his mistake and lets him go

obviously nicky's relatives would be worried about his disappearance so they would call the police but when nicky arrives after having escaped he tells them everything and they try to catch the neighbor but he escapes by changing his identity and leaving his house

Years would pass, Nicky is already a man, a responsible and careful man in what he does, but one day he can no longer pay to stay in his apartment, so he has no choice but to return to the house where he experienced trauma with the neighbor. that he was very obsessed with him, when he arrived he hallucinated with a shadow in the ruins of the neighbor's house that would represent the fear of being locked up again, oh the fear of the neighbor

and now it would not be about hide and seek it would be about what I think happened later, aroon would be sorry for what he did with some thoughts that he is a murderer and a danger now he lost two important people in his life he only had his father, but for fear that his father would know that he was the one who killed maya, he escaped from the house and would have committed suicide, I don't know, something might have happened to him and that's why the missing posters about the girl could have been another missing girl, well I thought so when hide and seek had barely come out and I finished it

I rewatched Nikita’s alpha 1 interview last night and I can now rest easy knowing the thing is a representation of Nicky’s trauma when he’s older

The neighbors trauma/thing in the basement at the end of the game however is a different story

Peterson obv knows about the time loops but I bet he also knows the guest is his cursed self trying to escape
