Idk if people have caught this similarity, but the movie 9 is kinda similar to HN. It’s both are very metaphorical with deeper meaning and symbols everywhere, a ton of background secrets and details, have a cartoonishly Erie mysterious vibe, sci fi stuff, and plays out like a folk tale with some spiritual metaphorical stuff. The vibe of it is also similar to that old HG vibe. Like that old Erie yet cozy kind of post apocalyptic vibe. Not just HG but even story and elements of HN as a whole. Even the movie coraline which is a ton like folklore and metaphorical with symbols to a deeper meaning, which the HN lore portrays a ton of stuff like folklore and like it supernatural, but it’s just a view of the story that can tell and show us stuff on the series. Even old ideas from the alphas and other symbols they take reference from that is supernatural, as a tale or story within universe. Nothing actually supernatural in the grounded view tho. I recommend you give Coraline a watch and especially 9 since it’s not too k own or sometimes over looked. They even had a promotional facebook page of one of the characters who is a scientist and all the post led up to the movies released with a ton of lore and stuff we see in the background. People have taken these so we have it as part of the movie forever. Character designs like The Guest really remind me of the characters in 9 and coralline, even vandals, MITH, and many more characters. Even while we know what the design of Mayak is based on, it can still take reference from other material even symbols, and this movie really just reminds me of HN and Mayak. Idk I recommend give it a watch, and see if there is similarities in both movies that can fit in HN. I’ve compared coraline with HN before like the dream metaphors, character views and fears, trauma, memory’s and nostalgia, things that are like a children’s book. Even Guest design almost looks like a character design of a folk villain you would see in an old children’s book.

These forwarded messages and the paragraph right under the last forwarded message have the main core of child like symbolism but they do present ideas from other theory’s but the main point you should focus on if reading this is the stage play, almost fake toy box kinda looking stuff, and folklore tale symbolism, even characters actions. Like HN2 alpha wouldn't be that hard, in fact much of it still kinda is used (because unreliable narration) but Devil, Father son and even Hello Guest would probably create quite a more different story.

And Finch would be following Trinity but loses her and Delroy also warning people as we see in teaser and he goes somewhere. Enzo Maritza and Ivan likely would be together with Ivan trying to cheer them up and Maritza runs away or sneaks away and Enzo gets worried and kinda guilty don’t walking with her and try’s to find her leaving Ivan alone. Delroy encounters Trinity and they encounter Theo and his twisted experiment area, aswell as some dead cultist. Then running trying to find Maritza Enzo runs into Trinity and Delroy, maybe Enzo is running from cultist and saying that Theo is pissed and maybe throws a smoke bomb or causes smoke somehow and he capture’s Delroy first. Ivan runs into cultist and Maritza saves Ivan and they run away. Trinity and Enzo are running and make their way to the love roller coaster and encounter cultist who starts a fire. They all make there way above and ground and see each other. But a fire bringing to rise above ground, pherris wheel wheel collapse and gets sent flying to ground (my small theory on what we see on HN2 pherris wheel but could be dif incident). And right when incident emerges, Mr. Peterson stares with rage at Trinity or the whole squad. A storm rises and people being to run out of park screaming, leaving the shot we see of cultist looking down at the scared citizens.
