Sorry for being late, but hnvr ends with police arrive from og hn2 where the cops come and ted flees the scene, something that is not present in current hn2 as it now happens after ted flees instead of during it. Also, Aaron is taken away and kept in the nest at the end of hnvr as he watches his friends through portals, which coincides with fake Aaron from the leftover plot in the hn2 beta where Aaron was not there (as well as not appearing for the rest of the og timeline) while in hn2 fg Aaron simply just tries leaving the property and fails

The only "new lore" thing they added was the luck coins as collectibles except in hnvr they're unlucky, but don't serve any purpose except being collectibles

we do not know how but it does

We don't know the order of where he goes (if there even was one) but we do know most of the locations

Theres the lighthouse which seems to be a base of some sorts and is where ted would go first as theres a lift from the beach to the top of the cliff where the lighthouse resides

there the volcano, which has blue crystals everywhere

in the volcano is a powerplant with extracts the lava

theres "replica brooks", which is the copy of the town that is on the island, why it is there we do not know

theres replica mayak, same deal

except this mayak has a big purple crystal on top of the roof

theres the radio tower

annnd as far as we know thats all the locations

Although about the red key part, it doesn't really set Aaron free does it, it sets Nicky free as seen in hnvr, and Aaron himself never actually wants to escape the basement. I think that line more so means Aaron is being 'freed' from the pain and suffering he's had to endure all this time, being able to rest, as when he does use the key on Nicky's door that is when he's taken away into the void by the guest, being able to watch his friends be happy through those feathery portals which most likely makes him happy too.

interestingly the original red key that would set Nicky free was gonna be the hn1 red key (this was scrapped for some reason, would've been a nice callback)
